Hello,

My 6 month old daughter spends most of the day shaking her head from side to side or banging it up and down (but not on any objects). Is there anyone out there that went through this stage? Is there anything I can do before it turns into a tantrum thing when she is older? She usally does it to let us know she is excited.

Thanks

Belly

Hi Belly,
My little one, 7.5mths, shakes her head from side to side when I'm trying to feed her! She thinks it's funny - probably not helped by the fact that visitors think its funny and copy her!! I don't think it's a tantruming thing - just a new trick that feels funny and gets attention!! No doubt she will find something else (often a high pitched squeal!! ) to keep herself entertained soon!

Hi

Is this behaviour normal?

My 11 month old baby boy shakes his head (as in saying no), for what appears to be no reason - it's like he likes the feel or the stimulation he gets from shaking his head. He has also started hitting his head against objects (the sofa mainly), but he's not hurting himeself. Is this weird? Should I be concerned? Could the head butting be a sign of something?

I would be interested in anyones comments.
