how do i get reed of

hey ladies
the other day i got a boil do any of know how to get reed of them and how they are caused? it hurts so bad but don't want to go to the doc's unless have too:gloomy: it make me feel sick

I usually just use clearisil on them.. and they go away within a week.. they do hurt:thumbsdown:

just DONT try to squeeze it..:no:
as if u dont wash ur hands after touching it .. it will infect a different area of ur skin!

I feel your pain!

You can try tee tree oil, paw paw ointment but none of the work for me. I was put on antibiotics not to long ago as I had 5 yes 5 at the one time. They are caused by infected hair follicles, and boy do they hurt. You can also try and exfoliate more often. It would be nice if you could just get a cream and make them go away. Once the puss and swelling has gone down you will have a mark that can last for months, mine a purple atm, NICE.

My gp told me to try and sqeeze the puss out as soon as you can see the head of them, before they turn into a larger lump.

mine is a really large lump but no head i might have to get cut open (i don't want that) and it in a spot i can't get to:thumbsdown:

My Mum used to suffer really bad as a teenager with boils. Wash with plenty of warm salty water and gently pull at the skin around it and squeeze once it has a head. They can be quite deep into the skin so you need to make sure you get it all out and not just what is on the surface.

If all else fails see your Dr as they can easily get infected!

but make sure u wash ur hands after!


if they are just a pink lump
leave it alone as it will go away naturally:yes:


white ones are usually just pimples

It will heal but it just needs time, they will not cut it open. If it doesn't heal in a couple of days and you are still worried I would go and see your GP.

Ouch you poor thing i remember i had one on my bikini line (where your nickers rub between your leg and giney TMI LOL) it was massive about the size of a small button mushroom! About a week later it had a head on it and i just scraped my nail along the top of it....i have never seen so much gunk in my life it was so discusting! It seemed to ooze for days never come back thank god but it hurt like hell till it burst.

I would go straight to the Dr's!
I had a lump I thought was a boil come up overnight on the underside of my arm in between my elbow and armpit and it was huge! I went to work and within a few hours I was vomiting and not feeling well at all. It turned out to be a badly infected cyst (that was not there beforehand) and they had to lance it to drain it. The poison had travelled through my system and made me sick so I was put on antibiotics straight away.
You are better to be safe than sorry.

I was also going to say - if it is making you feel sick then see your GP. My brother had what he thought was a boil on his underarm, and it ended up being a cyst, and cos he left it so long he had to go under a general and have it drained. It had worked it's way into his chest cavity and they were lucky they got it before it burst.
