Afternoon Chickies:wave: Just after some advice. If you are overweight, are your chances of falling pregnant shortened? I'm currently losing weight but am overweight and wondered if the weight could stop me falling pregnant? I know it's better for me and bub if I was to lose weight and fall pregnant. Thanks girls:babydust2:

Hi springbride

I am overweight too, and I posted something similar to this when i first started trying. And most people said - no it usually doesnt interfere with TTC. There is no evidence that being overweight can reduce your ability to conceive. However, there can be problems with fertility (such as PCOS) that being overweight is a symptom of. But being overweight does not cause PCOS (polycystic ovary syndrome).

I have been TTC since May, and have had no luck yet, but i was on the pill before, and my body has had a hard time getting back to normal (really long cycles). So i hope to get that sorted soon (doctor said it can take up to 6 months for your body to be back to normal).

I have a friend who is pregnant (first cycle... not even trying actively... makes us other ttc ladies want to scream!!!! :) ) and she is overweight too.

Trying to lose weight can only be benificial, and i should make more of an effort too, i am an emotional eater, so I am my own worse enemy.

Best of luck, and i hope you bring us some good news soon!
