Hi and welcome to Australia when you arrive.
Depending on what part of the country you live in the temperature varies.
In Sydney our temps range from around 10 degrees in winter up to 40 degrees in summer. Someone else may be able to give you more information.
But the seasons are as follows:
Spring: September - November
Summer: December - February
Autumn: March - May
Winter: June - August
Hope that helps :)

Where are you moving to? The weather here depends upon which state you're in. Westerna Australia, Northern Territory and Queensland are much warmer than New South Wales and South Australia and Victoria (where I live) gets very hot in summer but quite cool in winter (down to about 9 degrees). Tasmania is cooler still, more like England's weather.
I moved over last year from Ireland and can tell you that the temperature here is cooler than Europe. In other words, 25 degrees in Melbourne, for example, will feel like 20 degrees where you are.
Something you will probably need to get if you have a baby, for summer, is a sun-shade for the pram. And look at getting a house with air-conditioning and defintely a car with air-conditioning.
Best of luck with the move. It's not easy with a little one.

Hello again, thank`s for the answer. We will move to Melbourne in May so it`s not far away now.
We will live in Mt Eliza...hope to getting new friends :)
PS: I speek much better english than I write :o
Thea's Mum, I live in Mordialloc, in Melbourne, which is about 20 minutes drive from where you'll be living.
If you want to meet up when you get here I'd like that.
My email is kazgillies@netspace.net.au
Thea's Mum, your English is much, much better then my Norwegian, so don't apologise. :)
Melbourne has a really odd climate. I moved here 10 years ago from Noosa in Queensland, and while I love it a lot I must admit it's quite unusual. Australian seasons are the exact opposite of Europe, but Melbourne has it's own ideas of when winter, summer etc is. For example, it's currently Autumn, but this weekend has been 31c nearly the whole time. I recommend you check out the local newspaper in Melbourne (linky attached) to give you an idea. The weather report is in the top left corner of the page. http://www.theage.com.au/
Hope you have a great trip over!
Hi Thea'sMum
Sorry guys - someone has to say it and it might as well be me - "if your not enjoying the weather in Melbourne, just wait 20 minutes and it will change" ( :p that's a bit of a local Aussie joke).
Melbourne does have the most changeable weather in Aust, so as long as you have everything that you need for sun, rain, wind, and sleet - you'll be fine :) . A good thing is that the humidity isn't as high as Brisbane and Sydney, and I'm sure that even in winter, you won't think it very cold...until you're acclimatised ;) .
Best of luck and enjoy the change
