WE're planning a trip to QLD (flying from Canberra) in December and will have a 2yr old and a 4month old. I have never travelled with 2 kids before and wondering how I do this regarding car seats? I know cabs provide 1 carseat - but do they do 2? Does anyone know?

I would really prefer not to lug around 2 carseats on the plane etc etc

Please your advice would be FABULOUS

You will be okay if you plan ahead which is what you are doing.

If it were me I would be hiring a car with the baby seats included. not that expensive and SO worth the easy going smooth sailing!

Enjoy your holiday!

I don't think cabs in Queensland provide any carseats at all, apparently they do have the bolts though if you want to bring them.

When we travelled we had family that helped us out with carseats, so sorry I can't help you out there.

Yep I think so. so much more comfort for a bit more $$$ is well worth it.

Lucky duck! Good for you! You deserve it!

Hiring a car will definately be the easiest option for you.

When you make the booking request two car seats and state that one will need to rear facing (do note some car hire companies only have forward facing, I think Budget is one of these however they may have changed by now and supply both options)

Also be prepared that you may have to install the seats yourselves when you collect the vehicle as many car hire companies now won't install due to worries of been liable in the event of an accident and them not been installed correctly. Just letting you know so there are no surprises when you get there.

Have a great holiday. :)

In a cab, a 2 year old is allowed to sit on the seat if sat next to a parent... This happened to me many a times when DD was younger and apparently thats their little rule!
