Hey there,

Well the dude and I are up here in sunny queensland, and I am starting to wonder what to put him in to sleep. Last winter I put him in those bonds all in ones and a sleeping sack. For summer a nappy and singlet... but how about now when it is pretty warm but can still get a bit cool of a morning?

All I have on the bed is a fitted sheet - I can't really put covers over the dude as he wriggles around a lot, and I am worried that he might get a bit too tangled up. At the moment he sleeps in a sleeveless suit, but I want to get him some kind of pyjamas... what do you lasses sleep your bubbas in?

Tee hee, I am going shopping today and want to BUY him things!!!

I used to live in Brisbane and believe me the sunny state does get cold! Really cold bbrrrrrrrrrrr particularly if you are not used to it. Anyway I used to sleep my babies in a sleepsuit, one like the bonds wondersuits and then pop him into a warm sleeping bag with arms iykwim, that way he didnt get tangled and you can still strip off that layer when it warms up in the morning.
Can think of anything else atm
Have fun shopping!

I'm in brissy too...I have noticed a couple of freezing mornings recently and got up to put blankets over my kids.
DD,13weeks, usually sleeps in a short sleeved suit...unless DH has had the aircon on all afternoon, then she wears a bonds all-in-one suit coz the house is soooo cold.
DS, almost 3yrs old, has taken to sleeping nude :D

usually ds has been sleeping in singlet and mappy but on those cooler nights I put him in PJs which are just shorts and t shirt set. I have a flat sheet that we tuck him into, mind you the way he sleeps ALL over his cot, he's not under that to much

Whilst we are on the topic of jimmy jams... My DS (10 1/2mths) is now walking and stands up in his cot, walks around and crawls around... I wanted to buy him a sleeping bag, but am worried it will be dangerous and he might get caught in it or fall over and hit his head etc etc... Have other mums used sleeping bags with walkers if so how did you go with it??? Thanks

I'm 45mins outside of Darwin. During the summer months (like now) Raleigh sleeps in a nappy and a t-shirt/singlet with the aircon set to 25C. During the cooler months, she'll probably have shirt and long pants without the aircon.

I'm from Brisbane and had the same issue. My bub would sometimes wake up at 4:30 every morning - I realised she was getting cold. My solution was to make my own cotton sleeping bag (got my mum to make it) It is basically a long singlet with a zip down the front. I dress her in a short sleeve, button crouch suit. This has been confortable for her and she still has plenty of movement. No hope of keeping a sheet on her.
I would not use a sleeping bag with buttons - i bought one and Bub got her feet stuck in the holes (dumb move, mum)

I just thought of something else - I have found a small range of sleeping bags in Target at the moment (Polar Fleece for winter and cotton rib for summer) much cheeper than those Gro bags.

What about the Bonds Stretchies, the stripy ones that go mid forearm to mid calf and button up the middle?

I was thinking of them for Ava for Autumn sleeping.
