Just wanted to put this out there as it looks fantastic and isn't very expensive in relation to some of the other seminars. This is the link: www.rickilakedoco.net
I believe it is based on the way the American's 'give birth' and i think that if Australia doesn't smarten up then this will be the way we are headed as well. This would be a very sorry situation.
I think i will definitely be going!
Oh finally!! Someone has to say something and I am glad someone has.
I will definitely be seeing this movie.
I have been wracking my brain on what small contribution I can make to change our system. maybe this movie will set a ball of some description rolling.

I wonder if it will be shown anywhere else?? I want to see it.
I just want to add, how good does Ricki look now!
I found this really interesting...
The U.S. spends twice as much on maternity care as any other country, but has the second-highest infant mortality rate in the developed world.
I'd love to see the movie also.

I would love to go.
I am thankful I didn't deliver in the states.
There are so many states that make midwifery/doulas an illegal practice.
The obs told my sized 6 Aunt that she would never be able to have a natural birth and they booked her c-sections without even giving her a chance, she went with her insticts and had a home birthy and after a healthy, perfect experience she went on to have four more natural home births, no complications what so ever.
And the c-secs were necessary huh...
They had the nerve to tell her homebirths/midwifes go against gods word. (She is from the bible belt).
Makes no sense what so ever..
It disugsts me that in this day and age many women are still being forced on their backs, cut, drugged, pressured without even a chance.
I would love to go to this too.....wonder if DH feels like a weekend in Sydney.....
