we always have more than one each
is there a cut off date? this is so frustrating
I'm pretty sure that employers are required to give their employees group certs by a certain date. I think it's either the 14th of July or 14th of August.
Might want to check the ATO website so that you can maybe give DH's employers a little push

The cut off is the 14th August, and employers can be heavily penalised for not doing them on time. I would be demanding it (in writing) from the employer within 24 hours or telling them that you will contact the ATO to chase it up.
They don't take long at all to do, there is no excuse for employers to hold them up.

thanks for that Shady, I'll tell DH. Wow, so they're over a month late:shame: Is there a cut off for us lodging our tax return?

thanks cromeo, that's good to know
Group certificates are supposed to be issued by no later than July 14th, and if you are doing your tax yourself, your return needs to be lodged by October 31.
If you use a tax agent, you have a bit longer.
IF you haven't gotten group certificates, you can estimate the income you earnt, but it's not the most accurate way of doing your return....
Keep hounding them for the certs, and ring that ATO for their advice.

31st October, or March 31st 2008 if you are on an Accounts lodgment list (i.e your tax is usually done through an accountant).
i havent done my tax yet as DP is a partner in a business so cant do anything until they do the personal side of the business tax.... Am hoping it will be done in the next few weeks, i am dying to get my tax return back
