I know this has been asked before - quite'a while ago, but I just heard mine & hubbys' song we had our first dance to & it got me wondering what yours was?
Ours was 'Into my arms ' by Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds then 'Even When I'm Sleeping' by Leonardos Bride.
I still get misty eyed & emotional when I hear these songs , strange after 8 years.
So , did you go traditional, obscure or mainstream for your first dance as husband & wife & do you get misty eyed when you hear it?
Even better question - does your hubby recognise that song as your bridal waltz song?;)

'The Wonder of You' by Elvis.

No DH does not recognise the title...i seriously doubt he would recognise the song without prompting!

I don't get misty eyed but naturally it bring back lovely memories...I write the words in DH's anniversary cards each year...he likes the lyrics...

(Was going to post them but am not sure if we are allowed to!!)

Can't say I know that one, k2ma, & I like your idea of writing the words in a card *mental note*.
Yeah I was thinking of posting words too but you're probably right, we'd prob. get busted.

ooo & I like Wet Wet Wet - what ever happened to them?

I walked down the aisle to First TIme Ever I Saw Your Face by Roberta Flack. I get teary every time I hear it (like I did on the day!).

Our first dance was Let's Stay Together by Al Green (it's an old song, from the Pulp Fiction soundtrack). The second one was Dreaming My Dreams with You by the Cranberries.

One of my close friends had Amazed too.

Another friend had U2 and Frank Sinatara singing Got You Under My Skin, it rocked!

We had "Heaven" the candlelight version by DJ SAMMY and then unchained melody - righteous Brothers (this was played also at my parents and sisters wedding...bit of a tradition thing).

Beautiful songs....DH is not the sentimental type but I'm sure he would recognise the songs, however I don't get to listen to radio much these days more kiddie songs:laughing: so haven't heard 'em in a while....might need to bring out the CD!

Absolutely beautiful songs, I've being playing
some on youtube

:: a bit of trivia ::
Amazed by Lonestar was written by
Tim McGraw for Lonestar -
DP recognised that it was a Tim McGraw straight
away however we couldn't find it anywhere on
his or Faith Hill's(his wife) CD's... no wonder it's
such a beautiful song = superb choice =

Keep them coming all these beautiful songs of your special day, it's so wonderful going through them

We didn't have a bridal dance, not our thing, plus we were on a boat so there was little space for dancing, the two of us did get up and do some funky standing on the spot moves to "How to Save a Life" because that was a big hit at the time of the wedding.

We used our song for walking into the ceremony together, you can listen to it/watch it on my zoints profile, it's called Heartbeats by Jose Gonzalez, but he covered it, the original was by a Swedish techno band called The Knife, and it's totally crazy compared to the version we love (I also put that on my profile if you want a listen)

Everytime I hear the Jose Gonzaelz version I get this overwhelming feel of love, all those wonderful feelings from when we first started dating, to those exciting/happy feelings of the day we celebrated our union with friends and family *sigh*

EDIT added: The lyrics are not happy in love lyrics at all! It's a break-up song, but for us it's all about the guitar music, not lyrics.
