View Full Version : Half Vax ??
Hi guys was just curious if some of you only do half the vaccinations?
I have been trying to do my own research on the pros and cons but it does get a little confusing, who's right who's wrong.
I have been reading some of the posts here and with some of you girls it seems like you have done years of research.
I am not sure on the MMR one someone has suggested to wait until my boy is 2 before you get his first MMR.
Do you guys get the Tetanus ? If my son does not get the Tetanus what do you do to help his immune system Homeopathy or nothing ?
Please some information would be appreciated

Do you mean selectively vax?
If so yes, some of use choose certain vaxes but not others.
The tetanus vax is only available as a triple antigen (DTP) so you cant get that seperately. Have you looked into tetanus at all? Do you know what you can have the tetanus shot if and when your child suffers an injury if you want? More often than not they recommend a booster at the time of injury anyway so its kind of pointless to get the shots as a newborn. Also if wounds are cared for correctly then tetanus is very unlikely to occur.
Anyway I urge you to do some research. There are some really good threads in this section with lots of links to articles etc.
Unfortunately no one can do the research or make the decision for you. Whatever you decide it has to be you who knows your stuff and makes the final decision.
Some people delay vaxes because the rate of brain development is astronomical in the first 2 years of life and it is thought the brain/immune system/little bodies in general are vulnerable to injury at this time so by delaying you can minimise the risk.
Personally I feel that at 2 years of age my son has escaped the most dangerous period with regard to disease. Most complications from diseases occur in young babies so by getting to 2 he has built a strong little immune system and I dont think I would vax then. But thats just me.
Also MMR is something I wouldnt consider having done because all three of the diseases are generally very mild. I had them all as a child, as did all my cousins etc. and IMO they are harmless childhood illnesses. Strong and healthy kids usually recover well and I will cross the bridge of complications in the unlikely event that they occur.
Anyway good luck to you. :hugs:
Hi
I have looked at heaps of sites for and against!! I suppose I was trying to decide who is telling the truth? How do you know ? anyone can make a web page except me lol
One site I looked at said that there is only mercury in one Vax thats the flu shot, then you look at another site and says its in most??
I will have to research Tetanus more though , I thought they can get that even through dirt???
My other 2 children are fully vaccinated except middle is 3 so due for the other MMR.
I dont really to want vaccinate, my DH says It was ok vaccinating the others so same genes so probably won't be any simajor dramas, except DD different father.
I am not on here for people to argue with each other, just opinions please.
Thankyou :)

Hehe...yes it can be confusing. The best thing to do is to look at the insert that comes with the vaccine. From memory they all contain thimerosol however it is not listed as an active ingredient  .....and thimerosol is mainly made up of mercury.
I think the thing is, there is no right or wrong. There is no truth and untruth. Its all just information which needs to be weighed up.
Once you have come to your decision based on research you will have more confidence. I spent months and months restlessly going over the decision and losing sleep over it but now I am 100% confident in my decision. Our son is 100% unvaxed.

Well my whole concern with vaccinations is not the obvious, immediate reactions. It is the long term effect and the weakened immune system...problems which might not occur until the child is an adult. I'm more afraid of the 'invisible' effects iykwim....
