i was cleaning up around the gardens near DS play ground this arvo and as i took a step a large peice of wood from the garden edging that was splitting went right into my my foot, it was about 3 and half cm wide and was sticking out about 20 cms or so i pulled it out of my foot with out thinking to much but it broke up inside my foot and now there is still a peice about 2 1/2cm in width and about 2cm long stuck in my foot- its killing me i have been trying to get it out but its so far down that i cant get it i did ring the doc's but they said they were just closing and that i will have to wait untill tomorrow..
it really hurts any one have any idea's on how to get it out with out waiting to go to the doc's?:fingerscrossed: :fingerscrossed:

o thankyou thats a good idea i dont no why i didnt think to call them thankyou:thumbsup:
You can try to soak your foot in warm water, this will soften up the skin, and perhaps make it easier to get it out.
If it's preventing you from walking or will prevent you from sleeping, I'd get onto AH or EMD.
You can safely take paracetamol for the pain.

For future reference I would always pop a pure soap and sugar pultice on anything you need to draw out. I tend to just slither off some soap with a drop of warm water and sugar and mix together in a mortar and pestle. I then pop it on thick and wrap (so it doesnt get everywhere) Brilliant for getting splinters out. DH was always getting carbon fibre splinters in his hand when he was sailing and this was the easiest way to get them out.
