I know this has nothing to do with pregnancy or babies just want to know your thoughts on this subject....
Girl, 4, tortured, court told
18.10.2005

A FOUR-year-old Mackay girl suffered multiple fractures, had groin and throat ulcers caused by caustic acid, and she also had superglue poured in one ear as part of a year of torture, the Magistrate's Court heard yesterday.

Half of her throat had to be surgically treated for uclers and has to be drip-fed for two years.

She is in a stable condition in the Royal Children's Hospital.

She was malnourished, emaciated, ulcerated and there was evidence of muscle wasting.

"The medical evidence is very damning," prosecutor Senior Constable Tony Irvine said in court.

Her stepfather, 31, who can not be identified because of Child Protection Act laws, faced court yesterday charged with torture, cruelty to a child, and causing grievous bodily harm.

He was not required to enter pleas.

Snr Const Irvine said the child was admitted to the Mackay Base Hospital on September 26, when a major police investigation started.

That is sickening:mad: that poor little girl, people like that should be given the same treatment they gave the poor child they tortured and thrown in jail for the rest of their lives. Sorry to sound harsh but things like that just make me really angry.

This is disgusting, how could anyone treat anything this badly let alone a poor defenceless child. He should have to endure the same treatment that he dished out to this little girl, prison is just to good for a low life like him.

I personally, don't appreciate these sort of things being posted. We all know it happens, we don't need reminding.

Oh, what a horrible story....poor little girl

I'm glad to hear she is getting the care and attention she deserves. I hope she makes a healthy and safe recovery.
