hi,

My nearly 2 yo DD used to poo everyday. Now since we have started TT she holds it in and doesn't let it out! When she does let it out, it is huge and big and of course smelly!! Good thing is that since she has been holding it in (past week now) she has gone on the toilet for the poo every 2 days.

We have tried bribing with lollies, stamps etc...but not much is encouraging her to simply let it out. I guess I was making a big deal about her having to push it out, should I just let her do it without the fuss? We also encourage her to do it in her nappy as I would prefer her to let it out regardless if it is in the nappy or on the toilet.

Any ideas to help?

Many thanks.

My eldest was the same, I think its the fear of 'letting go' she used to scream for a nappy (how embarrassing!!)

I kinda think it's the pushing into mid air feeling (sorry!) Think how you kinda want to hold back whent he midwife says push and you know your bum feels like it's gunna split...I think it's like that probably. We found if she was on a potty it was a bit better, otherwise I can't recall how we overcame it.
