Hi all, well just to let you all know I had my 20 week scan today, and we found out we are having a Boy, so excited as we have 2 beautiful girls already... My husband was so convinced it was a boy from day 1, that telling him it could be 50/50 wasn't good enough... I got him back though... My little girl Lily had to go to the toilet during the Ultrasound, so my husband had to take her... When he left the room I explained the Ultrasonographer(sp?) that he is in denial, and he just said he could tell by his anxiety and jokes, he then told me it was a boy and showed me where... He said would I like to tell him it's a girl as a joke, and I was like, Yes Please (he he he)... When he came back in the room the Ultrasonographer said, So, Would you like to know the sex of the baby, and my husband was like "yeah yeah", and he said It's a girl by the look of things, He was like "oh, can you look again, no It's all good" as long as its healthy... We just looked at each other (myself and the U/S) and went, "Only kidding, It's a boy" and he was like "I knew it"... and has been smiling all day... Anyway, just thought I would share my exciting, yet funny day with you all... All the best to all you pregnant ladies out there, Keep well and love hearing your threads and posts :D

Congratulations! There is something about husbands wanting boys isn't there. I guess they are just after reinforcements. (especially if it is already three against one in your household).
I am expecting in about three and a half weeks. We opted not to find out. We didn't with my last child either. But I did have a pretty good look at my 20 week scan and well, to put it bluntly I'm sure I saw a set of man marbles. My husband seems to think that he saw them too. I will be very surprised to be handed a little girl after giving birth but I will be just as happy either way. As we already have a darling little man another boy would make a great playmate for him. But a little girl would make the perfect pidgeon pair. Win, win if you ask me.
Anyway, once again congratulations and all the best in your pregnancy.

We asked the Dr at our 20 weeks ultra sound what the sex was. He said it was a boy í think, actually it is a bit hard to tell......' both my husband and I were a bit annoyed as we really wanted to know and with our first son there was no doubt at all.
Anyway I was telling some girls at my pre-natel class about this and they asked which Dr did the ultra sound. One girl said that he had got her sex totally wrong with her first child and she knows of another women who he also got wrong!
So I am keeping an open mind at this stage and only buying neutral clothes. I have looked at the video dozens of times and I can't see anything!

Hi Meshan, I think unless you get them to point out the genitals, you can never be certain... The funny thing was he took me straight to his genitals when I asked and showed me "here is the penis.".. I guess they can be wrong, but I am pretty happy with what he showed me... I have kept all the receipts, and we don't have a nursery we have painted blue or anything, so am not too worried... I too have had friends that have said they were told they were having a particular sex and turned out to be the opposite... My girlfriend who is due in 2 weeks was told with her 2nd it was a girl, and turned out to be a boy, however the Ultrasonographer did say to her he only suspects it was a girl, as the legs weren't exactly open... This one she was told she is having a girl, and with the legs wide spread open you could see straight up there, she even asked if she could see the area twice... I guess we will see in 2 weeks... And I will keep you posted with the arrival of my bub in August as to let everyone know if the U/S really did see a penis... Not phased either way, I just love babies... :p
p.s. It would be really frustrating to be told your having a boy only to have a girl and vice versa... The problem is that when you are told you are having a specific sex, and it isn't what you wanted, I guess being told by friends, co-workers etc that the U/S was wrong with their scan can give a person hope, I guess...

Hi Girls!
I didn't want to find out the sex of my baby (I like suprises!) but my husband did and of course he has studied the ultrasound video but couldn't tell. He said he will be thrilled with whatever we have but I know he would really love a little boy! Anyway not long and we will find out! :D We painted the nursery green and have bought everything in neutral colours but I can't wait to go shopping for clothes once I can buy more interesting ones.

At first I really wanted to know the sex of out baby was. I thought it would help me to bond better with the baby before it was born. I had changed my mind by the time we came to the 18 week morphology scan. No I don't mind either way - just so long as it's a healthy happy baby.
I'm carefully buying anything but pink as a result... so I get a little annoyed when people buy pink things... lol :D
