Hi, first timer from Tassie here, looking to chat to other mums from Tassie or with kiddies around my daughter's age (nearly 2).

She has just started to become clingy where she has not really been before. I work part time and she has a couple of mornings in care and loves it and spends a couple of mornings with Daddy which is great too.

She is an only child and probably will probably remain so as I am 40 this year and it took us some time to bring our little angel into our lives so the chances are even more slimmer now even with ivf which was how our little darling came along.

She is also a very strong minded little thing and can be very testing with me - I know this is the terrible twos, but I just worry that I am strong enough but not overpowering and she seems to know how to really push my buttons when she wants to and yet other times she is the sweetest girl in the world - you just want to cry either way it seems !

We dont have any family to obtain help with but do have a couple of lovely friends with kids and mothers group too.... but it is hard to fit everything in as well as working.

Hi & welcome Jenniferd!

I'm not from Tassie, but I do have a little one starting on the terrible 2's and one that has just finished - phew!

Maybe we should start a "Terrible two's" thread so we can all comfort each other!:)

oh my goodness, I know I really shouldnt complain at all hey, as I only have 1. How on earth do you do it - look after 2! particularly when one is starting the terrible 2's! they look very cute, how old is the older one? how do they get on together? sorry, I know I have a lot of questions, but would be very interested in what you have to say. Oh and any sorts of play ideas you may have too!

Hi Jennifer and welcome! I'm not from Tassie either, but I just wanted to welcome you. (We also share the same birthday!). I've been to Tassie a fair few times because my mum is from there and all her family still live there! :D

April was born on April 21, so they will be close in age. I hope all goes well for your birth. It is truely the most wonderful thing to happen in your life and even through all the ups and downs, there is nothing like it in the whole world - you just cant explain the feeling - particularly in the beginning as it is so overwehlmingly spectacular and euphoric !

I must also apologise as i dont know what all the little abbreviations etc mean yet - i was slack and just started typing without checking out the how to guide thing..... anyway i look forward to sharing stories with you.

oh and i met my hubby in Adelaide when we happened to both be living there at the time, but he is from Tassie and i am originally from sydney (my family just moved around heaps - NSW, SA, WA, Vic).

hope all is going well with you.

Hi
I am also a Tasmanian, but from the other end of the state! My daughter sounds a lot like yours! She is now almost 3 and the bad days are getting further apart!

I'm a newbie too so should go and do an intro first!!
