peeling skin on nipples?!

hey! im 12 weeks pregnant, and iv noticed that the pink bits on my breasts are ....peeling!! its a bit weird...so i was just wondering if it was normal? or if anyone else has experienced this???

Yeah, I had that too throughout my pregnancy. My theory is (I have no idea whether it has any scientific basis :laughing:) that my nipples and areola grew so much during pregnancy that they shed some skin in the process.

I know other friends have commented that they had dry, flaking, peeling or otherwise itchy nipples during pregnancy too - I used lanisoh (wool fat) on them to help with the flaking and itching and that seemed to help - you can get it at the chemist in a purple tube (great for sore breastfeeding nipples too, so get the big one :))
