So, can you really leave one to air and then re-use it?
I just got my bb pul covers yesterday (YAY!!) and used one this morning over a terry flat. He had only had it on for 10 minutes when I had to change due to a poo, and I noticed the inside of the cover was already damp. It is now pretty well dry and doesn't smell at all, but do people really reuse them. I feel like I can't as I know it has had wee on it iykwim? But then that would mean I would need just as many covers as nappies and that would kind of defeat the purpose!
What does everyone else do with their covers? And how many do you have/need??
ps. I have handknitted soakers that I have no problem reusing, but they have the lanolin.

I don't re-use PUL covers, I just can't. I have approx. over 20 BBH covers so I have no need to hang them out to air without washing.
Wool wraps/knitteds on the other hand, yes I do hang them out to air.
I air mine, unless they get so wet that wee soaks thru...like when DD slees longer than I expect her to thru the day. I use two covers a day, one airs while the other is on DD. I only have 3 covers tho...I rinse the two I used thru the day after DD goes to bed each night then wash them properly with the nappies every 2 or 3 days.

I use my PUL covers until they smell. Most of the time when i take them off DS they are damp but not wet. I air dry them and as long as they don't smell like wee i use them again. We use a combo of pocket, fitted and AIO MCN so they are not in use all day everyday. I probably wash 1 cover every day or so.
I have wool covers and longies too and i take the same approach with them.

same here :)
ours are just one layer of pul, so its not like its absorbed any wee and then dried ... iykwim.
same here; they smell like wee when wet, but if no smell when dry, i reuse them.
it doesn't really bother me as it's not against bubs' skin anyway. i'd never reuse a liner no matter whether it smelt or not...
Yep I reuse!
I've only got 7 covers that fit the boys anyway... bubs has a few more.. but i find i'm generally changing him so often I don't use a cover a lot.

I have no problem airing a cover out until it's next use. Except any covers used overnight, they are washed every morning with the nappies and are dry ready for the next night again :)
Me too. I put a new cover on every morning, and then use the same one during the day unless it gets poo on it.
If I feel it's gotten too wet with wee I do sometimes given them a wipe over with water on a wipe and let them dry out.
I have 6 covers and find this is enough especially as they dry so quickly when you wash them.

I don't use PUL more than once unless desperate. Yes it creates more washing, but I just didn't feel right reusing. Each to their own though. I just made sure I had enough covers to last. I do however airdry my loveybums wool covers between uses.
