Im 18 weeks into my pregnancy and am starting get baby things (clothes, blankets, nappies, bottles etc) left right and centre and at the moment they are all in boxes. I already have the cot and change table and bath and wardrobe/cupboard and I want to start setting up the nursery and move all of my mans games stuff out of the room and into the other spare room but he thinks its to soon.

What do you all think?

Go ahead, do as much of the big jobs now before you become to big and tired to be able to.

You never know you may have complications later in the pregnancy that restrict you from being able to follow your nesting intincts.

However do try and pase yourself a bit so that you don't burn out to early. A little each day can do the trick.:)

I think its just upsetting my other half cause his "games room" (computer, playstation, xbox, mini pool table and soccer table are in this room and a sofa bed) will be replaced with cots and nappies and a baby.

And the other spare room (guest room with Queen size bed and Wardrobe) will then have to become both guest room and games room and there wont be as much room for all his stuff.

I just dont think he is ready to give up his space at the moment but man my lounge room is starting to become over crowded with baby stuff.

maybe start with the smallest thing and see if he notices, replacing a thing of his with a item of bub's. slowly weaning him might work LOL

I wish i could do it that way but i need to move all the things out of the guest room to move things into the old games room to put baby stuff in there. at the moment there is no way i can start setting up baby stuff :(

We started to set up the nursery about 2 months ago! It was great fun cleaning it, painting it and getting the furniture! Now I'm starting to wash everything (all that new stuff that has to be washed before use) and folding it/ packing it away...ect...

Its nice having it there!!!! Sometimes i go in and turn the mobile or music turtle (old old toy of mine) on and just sit there or stand over the cot...imagining what its going to be like to see our little baby laying in there!

I was exactly the same, at 18 weeks I had already had tons of baby stuff and no where to put it, so I was anxious to set up the nursery so I could put the clothes in the wardrobe etc.

So one weekend when we had nothing on I convinced DH to have a blitz (not quite sure how i did that, thinking about it, I must have caught him in a weak moment!) It was full on, the whole apartment was a wreck for a few days while we rearranged everything (it was a home office) and painted the nursery and furniture, but once it was done it was so satisfying.

Now, 13 weeks later, i am SOOO glad we did it that early, coz the thought of doing all that work now is exhausting! Trust me, while you feel great and have lots of energy do it, because once you get bigger you'll be glad you did.

We set it up 2 and a half weeks ago :D
I am 34 weeks now everything is ready if you are doing a whole room I guess it's better to start sooner, our baby is in our room so wasn't much to organise!

There is so much wisdom in these words! It's never too early to set up, only too late! Lol! ;)

I started setting mine up as soon as I was preggers!
