Just curious if its a real difficult experience to be very pregnant in summer or winter?
I'll be happy to be pregnant at any rate but it seems I have some control over when I can try to fall (am on clomid). I'm not going to not try and get a BFP, just wondering about other womens experiences with being preggers when its stinking hot or freezing cold!
thanks

I have been pregnant in summer and winter, Even though it is difficult to be pregnant in summer, I would much prefer a winter baby.
I think this time its been perfect. Early pregnant right in the heat of summer, i'm five months now and its starting to cool down...and my son is due in July, just perfect for me :)

I had O in July, it was cold but because you've got bub on board I didnt feel the cold at all.
I enjoyed a winter bub but the only down side is that his birthday falls in the middle of winter so birthday parties are going to be a pain :p unless we get a bigger house lol they will have to be held at play centres etc
I would like a summer bub next time for that reason alone:D
Like Moonblossom my bub is due in July.
I had a bad time with morning sickness during the summer hols but I would have hated to be heavily pregnant then. I am very much looking forward to wrapping myself and my bump up in wintertime.
It is easier to get warm than it is to get cool
Goodluck:)
I was pregnant with DD1 in summer and hope not to go through the same experience again. I live in a house with no air-con and I didn't find it very comfortable at all. I was very exhausted.
We are TTC #2 so hopefully it won't take too long so that I'll be due Nov/Dec before the real heat of summer sets in.
I guess also it depends on where you live - I'm sure there's a big difference between Darwin and Hobart!! :)

I have May and December babies, it was a lot cooler being heavily preg when the temp was coming down. December was really hot!
Having a winter baby was nice, wrapping them up nice and warm with lots and lots of cuddling! My december baby was hard to keep cool in summer, if I held him for to long he would get all sweaty on my arm:( but I loved being able to dress him in summer clothes or even just a nappy, I actually got to see my baby this time:D May baby was always wrapped up!!!
I guess you just deal with whatever season you are given:D
All the best on the Clomid

Noah was concieved this weeks two years ago, and born a month early so I was pregnant from mid feb to mid october. That was really good timing - not too hot and the cold was fine because all the extra blood pumping kept me warm.
This time round summer has been a bit hard to deal with, not to mention christmas, new years, my birthday, my DH's birthday, my brother's birthday, mum's birthday, and my dad's birthday - so many parties and I couldn't even have one alchoholic drink!
But it hasn't been too bad. I think it's uncomfortable at any time of year. The test will be night the feeds in the freezing Canberra winter

If I were to do it all over again, I wouldn't want another summer baby. Sooo uncomfy.

I had bub in early November and it was just starting to heat up and become awfully uncomfortable when I popped her out... I'm glad to not be pregnant now.
I do remember thinking though when I was getting up numerous times in the night to feed her that I was glad it wasn't freezing cold...nothing worse than leaving a cosy bed, even for a precious bub!:D
I was due in Feb, so had the hardest part of my pregnancy in the Qld heat. I was so hot and swollen and I do have air-conditioning. My DS rarely wore any of his gorgeous outfits in the beginning, as he really only wore a singlet and nappy and I was always worried about him over-heating when we went out etc.
I agree with the others, I think it is better to be at the end of your pregnancy in Winter, when you can look a bit smarter in winter clothes and snuggle your baby in beautiful blankets.

thanks guys and girls
I live in Maitland where it gets rather hot! Our current summer is around 35 to 40 degrees and over. I have air-con at work and at home but I don't want to have to be stuck in recycled air all day or have a bub have to put up with the heat.
I think I've missed the boat for a winter one unless I don't fall for another three months!
I guess if I fell now it would be due early November so that wouldn't be so bad :)

I had two summer pregnancies (two summer's in a row in fact - phew!) and towards the end when your big, breathless and tired the heat only adds to your discomfort.
Never again will I do the last trimester in summer, if/when we have another, then it will definately be planned and the last trimester will be winter/spring.

My son was born in July, so for me that was perfect weather, as i rather a winter baby, my next bub is due in october so im hoping the weather will be nice, as ill get in just before it starts to heat up!
My son was born July 8th and I really enjoyed the pregncncy, when I was biggest it was cool weather, Tom was smallest in the cooler weather too (he hates hot weather) and my scar (c/s) and stretchmarks had practically dissapeared just in time for bikini weather :D
Although I really wanted to show off my bubby bump and couldn't really do that as it was too cold for all those cute lil maternity tops!
As someone who has trouble TTC I'll take pregnancy as it comes reguardless of the time of year!
