North Shore Private, Sydney
Hi cindye,
How exciting! we are both booked in at NSPH. I hope we will be there at the same time. My due date is 9th May, but I think I will be having a planned cesear so I think I will probably go in a few weeks earlier (not 100% sure yet though).
Will you be booking into the antenatal classes?

Who's your OB?
We might just see you there! I have booked in with Dr Anne MacGibbon. I picked her from the list on the NSPH site, only because her location suited me. I have just posted on the OB forum to see if anyone has used her and there thoughts. I read your post about the costs, wow I was surprised. Maybe I should ring and ask them to send me out an estimate? Did you also say that you had to pay a fee to book in at the hospital? I have rang and booked in and sent in my forms but no one said anything about a booking fee?
Hope you have a great weekend.

Hi Lillybelle!
I had to fill in a credit card payment form and return it with my booking form. You didn't? I hope they haven't ripped me off!
My OB is Michelle Batey - I also choose her from the website, based on location! She's just a couple of minutes walk from where I live.
A friend is having her baby at NSP in a few weeks, and she said her OB was $6000 - don't know if that's an exaggeration, and if any if that was medicare / health fund rebatable, but I think having your bub at the North Shore tends to be an expensive affair!
Hope everyone has a great weekend!

I am going to go to either westmead private or hills private in Sydney. My OB delivers at both. I have tentatively booked Westmead Private as books out early, and hills does not book out as quick.
Westmead private is newer, however hills had more of a friendly/personalised atmosphere. Hills doesn not have many private rooms so have to share on first night. Westmead has a couple of double rooms but not as likely. Also they have spa's in delivery suites, and I hope to labor in water. They just did seem as friendly and nice in tour, so I don't know. What are all of your thoughts on this.

Because we are being forced to move, I think I will deliver at John Hunter Hospital...... much more comfortable there than at Gold Coast, they took Good Care of me when I miscarried at JHH

I had my son at Osborne Park Hospital back in 2004. I was a public patient and they were absolutely fantastic, but now cos we got privaten health insurance a while ago, I am thinking double beds and my own room, like staying in a hotel for a few days, hehehe. So either Mercy Hospital or Glengarry Private Hospital.
Is their any WA mums here yet? Or am I the lone soldier??

Hi Momno1,
I am booked at the Mater as well. I'm due on the 3rd June but will more than likely deliver in May given my first pregnancy went 2 weeks early. I had my daughter at the Mater and absolutely loved it. I would cry everytime we drove passed afterwards. Maybe we will see each other there.
Girls - I'm in the June group but will probably give birth in May. So not sure which group to join.

i'm going to Royal Brisbane. I hope it's all okay there! It's funny you hear good and bad things about each hospy, it's hard to decide, but it's closest to us, so i guess that's going to be it. Unless we end up moving down the Gold Coast before i'm due...then i think it will be GoldCoast hospy!
