he was in a bit of a hurry to entre the world, I had been dozing on and off all morning and at 1230 in the arvo of sunday I woke to some niggley pains but i didnt think much of it as i had been getting those types of pains for the last two weeks so i didnt think much of it but as time progressed, my contractions were 8mins apart lasting for a 1min, then about 1330 (130pm) they droped to 6 mins apart lasting for a 1 min,
at that point i woke hubby and told him i think we should make our way to the hospital as i think i am in labour so he got up and got dressed, we made our way to the hospital with my contractions still 6mins apart lasting for a 1 min, so we stoped to gas in the car and so hubby could get some food at this point i was feeling okay, and managing the contrations thru breathing, but as we got closer to the hospital, they were getting more and more intense, to the point i thought i would have bub in the car but i didnt, got to the hospital (i went to the royal womans in the city) emergancy department and i got out of the car and i could not walk so hubby got a nurse with a wheelchair and between contractions hubby made a wise crack about now we both have a wheelchair which brought a smile to my face, the midwife did an internal to see how far dilated i was and much to everybodys suprise i was 8 cms dilated so the midwife could not go very far, and she was telling me not to push as she had not set up the room as a lady had only just left and the room was not ready, i didnt have any drugs only gas but that didnt really help much, the best pain relief i had was my hubby, he was fantastic, then at 1629 (429pm) in the arvo master dale entered the world, both myself and hubby were in tears.
Dale is such a placid baby hardly makes a sound, the only time he makes a sound is when he is hungry, tired or has a dirty nappy.
