ok well i need some advice....

i am currently buying materials to make some nappies... i've bought some bamboo fleece and some microfleece ( i think this is it lol*) and i've ordered some PUL...

i want to make a fitted nappy with a snap in booster.... my question is :

* do/can i cut two layers of bamboo for the body... and then have one layer of micro fleece against bubs but with a snap on booster of two layers of bamboo and one layer of microfleece?? does this sound "NORMAL"??

if not what do you think is the best way to go about a fitted? i was going to do this then make a cover out of PUL and sew a design onto the PUL cover.

is this smart?? :o please help im new but learning:thumbsup:

Sounds good, make one, and see if it suits your bub, and dries well.

ETA, if it is for a newborn/little bub that would be cool, but I need at least 6 layers of bamboo or hemp total in the wet zone for a day time nappy, a few more for a night time nappy HTH

I've made fitted bamboo nappies. I used 2 full layers for the body (no mircofleece liner) Then I made insert that goes inside that is 3 layers of bamboo thick, this then is folded in a way that there is 6 layers at the back and 9 at the front (i have a boy:) ). I put my inserts into a mircofleece little mini pocket that I made but you could just lay a liner on top. So all up there are 11 layers at the front and 8 at the back. I cover this with a Baby Beehinds Wool wrap and it lasts all night:yes:

sounds like the general design would work fine, although i second the thought that 6 layers would probably be advisable for many older babies :) (although if you change when wet, not necessary)

you need to be careful with sewing a design onto your PUL cover though, as you may end up with wicking through any stitching.

ok so what about if i add two more layers of bamboo in the wet zone and with the cover go PUL with a simple material over the top with the design?? sound good?

yep if you do 2 full body layers and a snap in the folds to make 4 layers should be good for day time

With your cover you could always do 1 layer PUL with 1 layer minky, or applique 1 of PUL, and then have another PUL layer
