I don't know if this is the right section, but I couldn't find a forum for babywearing - feel free to move it, mods, if needed. I picked up a meh tai ABA sling, and I've looked at the directions to put it on, but when I try there doesn't seem to be anything stopping the baby from falling out the bottom! The photo intructions are for a clip sling but I just don't get it? I'm wanting to use it sometime today so I'd love feedback. What am I doing wrong? I must be dense  I get the crossing over of the straps etc, but where do you put their legs and what keeps them in? I'm so hopeless, even with photos. That's why I love my soft carrier clip sling, it's so easy and there's no wrapping.
Heres the link for the sling...

I am sure this is the same as the one a friend of mine has. I think from memory that the straps at the bottom are placed to act as the "keep baby in" bits.

I have just had a look at the site and if you look at the picture 5th from the bottom of the instructional pics, you can see how the baby's legs go over the straps. Does this help?

But wouldn't the legs need to go under the straps to keep them in?

Hmm, maybe we are looking at this differently. :detective:
I picture it as the baby's legs having the straps under them to hold the baby in.
I'm sorry, hopefully someone else has one who can help. If all else fails, give the ABA a call and ask someone to explain it to you or go in and have someone show you.
Keep bumping this as someone is bound to know sooner or later!
the suggestion to ask your local aba is a good one.
i have one but mine is slightly different in that when my mum bought it i was a baby and in those days you'd buy the pattern and make your own. i still use it with my kids now though, and it works well.
the strap that goes around my waist, (could be slightly different design) goes under my babies legs, although for a young baby i imagine they would be more curled up against your tummy/chest. and this creates a pouch type space as it pulls the bottom of the fabric in to my bodie underneath her bottom.
i think i'll check out the link to see if it differs much from mine.
