For me it was the cost saving factor, followed by enviromental factor.

To be honest the cuteness of them grabbed my attention to begin with, then it was the environment factor.

Can't really say so much for the cost saving benefits because I have spent heaps, too much, and no doubt I'll keep spending. It's addictive when you spot so many great looking nappies. I have no will power to not buy something that catches my eye. :o

I chose other. For me, rather than being "why choose cloth" it was more "why not choose cloth"
I have always seen disposables as more of a travel conveniance or something, I was totally dumbfounded when I found BubHub and learned that for many (most I think) they are an every day nappy!

I picked other-
for me living an hour and a half from the closest shop selling nappies I chose cloth so we'd never run out of nappies.

We actually use both cloth & disposables.

For me it was three reasons in the following order...

1. Saves money
2. Saves the environment
3. OMG oh so cute!

Planning to have 4 children, buying MCN's will save us an absolute fortune, I worked it out roughly, 4 kids in 'sposies would cost us around $12,000, 4 kids in MCN will cost us around $1,200, it's a no brainer really!

I chose 'other'. They are better for my baby, which is the main reason we use them. Second would be environmental.

OTHER

We are going with MCN's due to practical reasons. Living in a regional area, we don't have curbside rubbish pick up and have to take our garbage to the tip ourselves. There is no way I am having stinky nappies hanging around the place for two weeks or so. Plus with a dog who loves to stick his head in the garbage bin it would be a very bad combo.

Plus the money saving factor was a big bonus for us.

the environment for sure.

i felt so bad over the one month Harper was in sposies... all that disgusting rubbish, my bin has neer been like that (usually its the recycle bin that fills too quick!)

i havent saved much money YET coz i have bought heaps but the savings will come next baby! then i will sell or give them away

Environment for me. When I had DD1 I looked into it and believed the literature about the environmental impact being relatively equal. But four years later when I still had three in nappies at night and two in the day and being pretty sure that I had filled in my own personal land fill with disposables I decided that the equations just couldn't keep working.

For me definately the cute factor then the money saving part
TBH The environment had nothing to do with it :o
I just love all the dif designs colours styles etc

For me, it was mostly the saving money option at first. But now that I know a bit more about the environmental factors, it'd have to be that too.

The environment and the cute factor:thumbsup: To be quite honest, I'm not sure I would've converted if the only choice was flats though:o

I'm still a part time MCN user, night times. I got into BBB nappies because DD was leaking through her huggies each night and I got sick of it.

Since we changed to cloth no leaks. So initially that was the reason but now I'm going full time soon as I've ordered GK nappies. It was an environmental reason as well as a financial one. So I'm eagerly waiting for my fluffy mail.

Cute factor, then the money saving factor, then enviro factor... now all of it is squished by the washing out of the poo, the stinky wee nappies, the pulling out wet and smelly inserts, the washing, drying and re-stuffing of them... I'm so over it!!!!

Mainly to save money, figured out how much we were spending on sposies and even though the initial outlay for MCNs is expensive it is going to save us money in the long run (especially if we have another baby).

Plus they are totally cute, very addictive and better for the environment than sposies.

Mainly to be a bit more sensible with money, and also for environmental reasons I guess. While using disposables full-time, I was struggling to get our weekly rubbish in the one bin! Sometimes I had to dump stuff at mum's. I felt bad about all the rubbish I was producing, and was pretty pleased with the cost savings too!

I felt awful when every week we have a full horrid smelling bin out the front. I wanted to use cloth from the beginning, mum used terry flats on myself and my 3 sisters, so I always had it in mind to do it but didn't want to have to soak nappies and wash every day. Then I stumbled upon MCN and have been sewing up a storm ever since. I've had a few failures and a few hiccups but we're 100% clothie bum now.
Even though I've spent hundreds on MCN and sewing supplies its still less than what I would have spent on sposies.

For me, (although I must admit I haven't been very environmentally conscience before), it was reading that one child in sposies full-time will create 700kg of landfill that will take 400 years to break down. Those are seriously disgusting figures, and if we can all do our part, it will help.

Then of course there was the cost factor, but I just used that as an excuse for the cute factor! Hehe! :D

Enviroment first and foremost. I didnt ever really consider disposables as a full time option ever. I didnt know about MCN so we used terry's at first and I still love them too. A baby doesnt feel like a baby if they are in a disposable (to me anyway- I know many would beg to differ!) It just makes sense to me that cloth is better both for the health of my children & for the health of the enviroment. The cute factor is just an added bonus!

E. All of the above.

Other being: hate disposables they feel yucky, probably better for bub to not be in them all day, want to buck the trend - EVERYONE seems to be using only disposables, i don't want to be like EVERYONE.
