Ok, so i'll start this one......must be new as i never saw this section before....

Mac was born on the 30 June 2003, 8lbs 1/2oz, 52 cms long, with a 38cm head....

She is now going through the terrible two's (well...for the last year or so more like it  ) She is at her first day at the daycare centre today, and i rang them and she's loving it! No sign of wanting her dear mummy....:( Thats good though i guess....

Anyone gonna join me? :)

Hi Shannon,

DS was born in August (I just started an August 2003 thread!) but I thought I'd pop in and say hi! I asked that they create a forum for us 2003 mummies as I had nowhere else to go! But June and August are pretty close :)

DS was born 08/08/03, 7lb 2oz, 52cm long, 35cm head.

He's been at daycare since he was 5 months old and he loves it, has definately helped with his social skills and speech (had a few issues with hearing).

At the moment our main battles our climbing out of his cot, giving up his bottle of water at night, and contemplating toilet training.

Is your DD toilet-trained? If so, when did you start? Was it easy-ish?

DS hasn't really shown any signs that he's ready (like saying when he's done something) so I'm not quite sure where to begin.

Anyway, hope you don't mind me buttin in the June thread, hopefully some other June mummies (or daddies) will join you (and me too!).

Chat soon :)

I started TT Mackenzie about 3/4 months ago i suppose. I was lucky and she went brilliantly, with hardly any accidents and now she's pretty well TT totally (except i still put pull-ups on her when we go for a whole days shopping just in case). Night time is going fabulously and she has only had one accident in the last month or so of only knickers at night. God, i sound like i'm bragging.....:o

To start her i just started putting her on the toilet/potty every 1/2 hour or so, and let her go without pants altogether while at home. She soon got the hang of it, though poos took a while longer to master....there were a couple of accidents there :o . But all up it probably only took about 2 weeks.....

I would start by putting your DS on the toilet/potty at regular intervals and also ask him if her needs to go. Sometimes they'll say no and not mean it, and then you have a spill! I think they say for some reason that girls a a bit faster to 'get it' tyhan boys, but i don't know as i haven't really known any little boys!

Good luck! Oh, adn thanks for creating this section! :)

Well, I still haven't attempted TT with DS, it's just too daunting, and what with painting an entire house, too much to consider really at the moment. Have moved DS into our room while we prepare to paint his room, I'm actually getting a bit more sleep as we don't have to keep getting up to him, so that's a plus.

I noticed today that DS' speech is improving so much, I'd say we understand him at least 50% of the time, considering he didn't really even speak until he was about 25 months, I'm happy with that.

Although, I've noticed how much he copies us, he can say the complete sentence of "Lily, get back here now" (Lily is our dog, not very obedient).

Anyway, hope everyone is well. :)

Don't be shy 2003 mummies, come & visit!! :)

hello

DS1 was born in the UK in June 2003, we've moved to Melbourne in the last few months (we are Australian) and he's slowly getting settled. The moves seems to have really knocked his confidence somehow (he had a great little group of friends he'd known since birth in London) and I'm not sure how to help him through this insecure phase. He seems desperate for friends but when he is with other children gets upset really easily, doesn't want to share and just generally seems to be finding it difficult. He is generally very sweet natured and I feel really sad for him. Any tips?
