Hi :)
I was hoping to find some other parents with children born between July-September 2003? Would love to be able to chat with others going through the same stage of toddlerhood as us!
I've got a gorgeous DS Ryan born 08/08/03. He's an adorable little boy although our main issues at the moment are climbing out of his cot and worrying about when to start TT. It would be great to abe able to offer advice and support to each other.
Hope to see some new faces here soon :)
Chat soon :)

Hi Tanya :)
We're planning on putting DS in a bed once we've got his room painted (about 2 weeks away), so I'm sure the nightly escapes will only increase! :p
Well done on the TT, we are going to have to set a date and just start I think, looking forward to no more nappies I have to say!
Chat soon :)

Hi Sharon, We are currently in the middle of painting both of my kids rooms we are also getting new curtains and carpet, i do recomend doing it before you put him in a bed because then it isn't as distracting for him if you have to move him around again, just once. My 2 are currently sleeping on matresses in the lounge room and it is such a hassle. The tt has been a pretty long battle but we have made progress, just be prepared that he probably wont get it straight away unfortunately it takes time and lots of it lol :) but its definately worth it in the end as we are now only in nappies for sleeps YAY. Jordy was pretty good when we put him in his bed but probably about 2 months later was when he started to get out of bed about 20 times a night, Ryan might be different i found emphasising that he is A BIG BOY NOW really helped with both. anyways best of luck for it all and enjoy painting! :)

Well, I still haven't attempted TT with DS, it's just too daunting, and what with painting an entire house, too much to consider really at the moment. Have moved DS into our room while we prepare to paint his room, I'm actually getting a bit more sleep as we don't have to keep getting up to him, so that's a plus.
I noticed today that DS' speech is improving so much, I'd say we understand him at least 50% of the time, considering he didn't really even speak until he was about 25 months, I'm happy with that.
Although, I've noticed how much he copies us, he can say the complete sentence of "Lily, get back here now" (Lily is our dog, not very obedient).
Anyway, hope everyone is well. :)
Don't be shy 2003 mummies, come & visit!! :)

My son Jacob was born 6th of October. We moved him into a bed when we moved house just before his second birthday. We put him on a mattress on the floor to begin with it until he got the hang of it. He rolled out of bed once or twice and I had put some thick blankets down on the floor to soften the blow. We have a bed time routine of bath, kiss and cuddle, stories, then we say night night big boy love you and turn off the light and close the door. If we leave the door open, he thinks it is hilarious to sneak out and then run back in and pretend to be asleep when we notice him.
We started toilet training him once he started showing interest. He liked the routing of going when all his clothes were off before his bath. We also put the potty out in the living area....gave him a big drink....waited 10 mins, and then put him on the potty in front of the telly so he was occupied and then praise praise praise and an m&m for doing a pee in the potty. He took off from there. We still have the odd accident when he's really engaged and leaves it too late to go and we still have him in nappy's for sleep as he hasn't entirely made that connection yet.
Good Luck!

I have a daughter who did not yet exist at the time this forum covers - mid 2003 - she was born Feb 2005 - however it only seems like mid-2003 was yesterday and yet it's coming up to 3 whole years ago - the little babies born then are now nearly kindergarten aged!!

Hey there, My little one was born 25/8/03. We put him in a bed when he turned two. I bought one of those car racing beds, a little bit expensive but they are low to the ground and they have high sides on them so I would recommend them highly. He loves it and can not fall off and only once in the middle of the night he decided to roll down the bottom of the bed and onto the floor and as it is low not far to fall. When I got the bed I also put a child gate on his door. So the day the cot went out the bed and the child gate went on. When the gate is shut he knows not to hope out of bed and I have never had a problem with him coming out as he does not know how to open the gate, and has not really tried even to this day the gate is still on his room. At night gate is shut and he just knows. As far as TT we have only just started and this is week one today and he still is in pullups and I am taking him every hour so honestly I am not sure of that battle as that is one I am facing now. Pitty you do not live near as I would love to meet people with around the same age kids. But PM if you ever want to talk as we are going through the same stuff around the same time

hey all, sharon my dd was born 08/08/03 too!!! 2 days after her mummys birthday!
we have successfully done the move to the big bed (she really didnt have a choice in the matter the cot was needed for ds!!) she was just under 2 (june last year i think it was), and we have been TT during the day for about 6 months now!! with lots of success, and are working on staying dry at nite (just got to remember to wake her up at 10pm ish and put her on the loo!!), and the little smarty pants has just started singing (omg how funny that is) she goes to music lessons with a few other kids around her age, and has finally (she started going just before her 3rd b'day) started to join in, and is loving it!.
it is just incrediable how much she has grown in the past 3 years, and i just cant get over the fact that i my baby is no longer my baby but an individual, that can now do things for her self (start to feel a little left out at times!)
we do have the naughty issue at the moment that hopefully i can resolve before she sends me into labour !!! (life's a little stress full at the moment on the behavour front!)

just a quick hello... should have been off the comp hours ago... time to get to bed!!
my little guy is 3 now and I am expecting no 2. Who should arrive in the last week of April 07.
My little man goes to full day care 3 days per week and that is going well but I feel guilty.
Over Christmas I have 6 weeks when my workplace shuts down, and I am thinking of taking him out of the centre he is at and changing him to a brand new one which is closer to home and more direct on the route to my way to work, where he can go to 4 year old kinder in the same building... actually just the next room. But I am in two minds about changing the routine so close to when the baby is due and also not knowing if and when I will be going back to work.
Hmmmmm... decisions decisions
nice to meet you all
