that is a really good idea. i know that neros is a good family restaurant in albany so id gather the same everywhere. they have paper for the tablecloth and a pot of crayons on the table so they can draw.

restaurant-

Neros is great , but if you want a bit more upper class, Kailis Fish Cafe in Leederville are really good too. They have a coloring page for littlies and instead of normal crayons, they have the windup ones that cant be eaten!!

Beach-

Floreat beach has a really nice picnic area above the beach with GREAT swings etc, but the beach itself is a bit rough. T loves it--- until it gets rough.

And after that Im lost... I liked the Beach house play centre, T loved that too

OK, these are all I can quickly think of, and they are SOR so I apologise if you don't live SOR...

Best baby friendly restaurant?
Red Rock Cafe in Vic Park is pretty good. There is an enclosed playground inside the restaurant so they can play in there in any weather, plus it is perspex windows so you can watch them while scoffing down your noodles!

best beach for kids?
Cottesloe I think, because there is grassed areas, and some shade. There is also toilets there and a kiosk if you need to use their microwave. I think there is also a shallow pool for the kids to wade in, plus constant beach patrol.

best pool?
Beatty Park and Belmont Oasis. Parent toilet/rooms for both parents to change baby, plus an awesome array of fountains, squirting rocks, animal slides and mosaic tiles, plus a "beach". There is also constant pool supervision.

best park?
Many. But the one that some of us mothers met at in Belmont, near the Oasis was pretty good. There is a fence to keep the kids in, a huge volcano and mist everywhere. Heaps of shade and bbq's. Having said that, I also like the "ship" playground down at the Swan River at the South Perth foreshore.

Best maternity shop?
KMart and Target. I am sorry, but you don't wear the clothes for that long amount of time, so you don't want to be spending heaps of money on temporary clothes. They are cheap, in season and really aren't that bad. Maybe splash out on a nice pair of pants or a gorgeous maternity bra to make you feel sexy while and after being pregnant.

Best baby shop?
Ankle biterz in South Perth is awesome! Gorgeous clothes for that special occasion!

Best place to take kids for fun?
I love the outdoors, so I would say somewhere like Kings Park, the river, Araluen. Somewhere for them to use their imaginations and learn something at the same time.
Even the Fremantle markets are fun, and there is an awesome Fairy shop near there for the girls and a medieval shop for the boys.

Sorry about the lame suggestions. Hope it gets some more ideas?~!
