if you are a meditator of any description, could you take 5 mins to complete this online survey to help a researcher from Swinburne University who is looking at the experiences and consequences of meditation? i just did it and the questions are quite interesting! :p

thanks!!

What method of meditation do you use? Just focusing on the breath, or do you have a mantra etc? I need a new method to focus on, my practise has lapsed so badly! The survey looks really interesting but I really must start meditating more regularly again before I feel qualified to answer the questions!

hey pippy

this link might help. it describes the five techniques used in zen meditation. i generally use the second and fourth ones (mantra and counting breaths) when i sit for shorter periods (at home) and the other ones on retreat.

hope it helps :p

Also, i usually sit cross-legged or in position #5 as I am not flexible enough to sit full-lotus  though my 18-month old daughter can do it!!!!!!

that was one long survey

Towards the end it was asking questions like "have you felt angered in the last day", "Have you felt frustrated?", "have you felt restless or bored?"

I wanted to answer "Yes... Particularly in the last 10 minutes!" :o

my apologies for that!! :) that was a researcher's "5 minutes" (i know what it's like getting people to fill out your survey!)

thanks for your effort! :D

That was an interesting little survey and I'd be interested to hear the result's (if we can).

I missed my yoga/meditation class last night (had the IL's over for dinner instead), and I can definately notice a difference today.

Thanks Alicesmum!:)

I love to meditate, i go to spirital classes one a week for two hours, and 45 minutes of the class is meditation, and its fantastic, it helps me to unwind and relax although i think twice a week would be better;)

lukael, lol, i think you had a way to go when you made that post. It was definately too long.

They needed a status bar with a percentage telling you how far you were through the survey at the very minimum.
