Hi All,

I'm new this this thread. I have just started my first IVF cycle (last Sunday), with the Synarel.

Just coming in here so I can compare notes and received advice from some of the more experienced ladies.

We have been TTC for 14 months and we found out last year I have PCOS and my husband has an enzyme problem with his sperm so I am having the ICSI done ... not really looking forward to the procedures.. afraid of what the drugs will do to me and of course, afraid of failure...

:D

All new to this and look forward to meeting some new friends.

Regards

Al

Hi to both of you and welcome to hub bub. I'm pretty new too. Are you both TTC? I had troubles but now have 4 beautiful children. It is all so worth the heartache and trouble!

Hi welcome

I had ICSI with SIVF and had a wonderful experience.
Fell pregnant with twins on second go.

Now proud mamma of beautiful boy and gorgeous girl who are 9 months old.

Try to stay positive and get interested in whats happening as it is the most amazing thing. Try to look at it in the way that you are closer now than ever to achieving your goal.

I saw my two through a telescope when they where no more than fertilised eggs, now thats amazing!!

Please feel free to PM me if you need some help advise etc and good luck!!

Thanks for your greetings ... did any of you have the nasal spray?

I work in Melbourne in a skyscraper and I take the spray about 9.45 am at work and of course at home in the evenings. Ever since Sunday (first day), my sinus has been inflamed, headaches and for the first time in my life I had a brain freeze when I had a thick shake ... Its worse on theh morning in take and I'm kind of blaming the air conditioning at work as in the evenings it hasn't bothered me.

Congratulations to the ladies who have babies. I am hoping we can achieve that goal. My doctor told me I'm not a problem so all should be ok.

Another question, the doctor told my DH and I, he will only put one embyro in at transfer as the risk of twins is not favourable but he wasn't specific with why ... has anyone else has this, because I've noticed that most women have multiple embryo transfers. We're paying alot of money for this so I would like as much chance as possible.

yes they said the same thing to me as well but when it was time for the transfer they always put in the best one and I only had two. The second one wouldnt have survived the freezing process as it was not as developed as the first so they said if we didnt put it in it would be discarded. I quite fancied the thought of twins anyway so i was keen to keep it.
They said it would also double my chances of falling pregnant and even though two where inserted the chances of both taking where slim anyway...but they did and sometimes I look at my two and think, that decision I made that day was the best decision ever. Imagine if I had said no.
I suppose you need to decide whether you are the sort of person who could handle multiples or not. (remember one egg can also split giving you identicals!!)
