Hi my 5 month old baby boy has been very crancky of late. He is waking every couple of hours for feeds. He struggles to go down at night (i have to feed him to sleep for what seems like hours) then he's up screaming and setrtles when i feed him, which seems to be every couple hours. He isnt sick as i took him to the doctor , but also have 5 year old to organise and am exhausted. Should i start him on solids? How do i know if i have enough milk or not? Could he just want cuddles?? Please any advice will be sooooooo helpful..

Could be his teeth, has he got any yet? I would start him on some soilds too and see if that makes any difference. Your milk should be fine. Let us know how he goes...:) Hang in there........

I know that they arent recommending solids before 6 months now days as they have linked early feeing to food allergies. However if he is seeming interested in food. Like he wants yours etc than he's prolly ready for it.

It may be teeth also, or comfort too. Wouldn't it be great if babies could tell us what they want ;) !

If it was me ( & this is just my opinion... take it or leave it :) ) I would maybe try giving him a supplementary bottle just to really fill him up.

Good luck.....

Sounds like he is having a growth spurt, maybe his last one? You answered your own question when you said he settles when you feed him.
