I had the same pains with Liam from 30 weeks pregnant up to delivery...
I'm only 9 weeks now and its already kicked in  I don't understand - theres barely any baby to cause pain!
It hurts to walk, or move. Did/Does anyone else have similar things in early pregnancy?

Yeah I had the same thing you described with DS from around the 32 weeks mark.
With this baby i've had it from 8 weeks only this time i'm getting pain all through my pelvis and my hips click. I told the midwife at the antenatal clinic and was referred to the physio and was then told i had servere SPD Symphus pubis disfunction. Pretty much what it is too much of the hromone that gets sent to your joints to soften them for the birth and it causes the 3 pelvis joints to be so loose that they will move around more than they usually would in pregnancy.
Mine gets to the point where i can't walk... i hope yours doesn't get that bad cause it's not nice.

OMG :hugs: i have been having the same thing.
mainly if i have been in bed or just sitting down and relaxing...i stand up and  ...it feels like the bone is about to break.
:fingerscrossed: it does not get worse for either of us
this is normal, as the baby has to get itself STUCK to your uteruswall...
enjoy (well sort of) it sounds like it does everything right....
good luck with your pregnancy

Hi There,
There is an Australian support association for women who suffer these symptoms, called the Pelvic Instability Association. We have a website at www.pelvicinstability.org.au - feel very welcome to visit, there is lots of information and tips on how to cope.
All the best with your pregnancy,
Kate

I suffered fairly chronic SPD from about 18 weeks in my first pregnancy, and this time from about 10 weeks.
I have tried physios, exercises, etc, and nothing worked. After my last pregnancy (it didn't go away after birth like I was told it would), I started seeing a Chiro and he was amazing. This time around I have started seeing one again early, and the difference is HUGE.... I hobble into the clinic once a week and walk right out with only minor niggles.
Highly recommend giving Chiro a go
Not sure if it's SPD or something else, but my physio told me my hips were basically wonky. Because there's nothing but muscles holding the hips in place they can rotate. So my hips had rotated forward on the right side and I had agonising pain in my pubic bone. My physio helped heaps and luckily the pain went straight after birth (apparently it doesn't always just disappear).
With my third pregnancy the pain started at 25 weeks. I'm now 16 weeks pregnant with number 4 and I've been sore for weeks - I've just made a physio appointment.
I will add that you might need to look around for a physio. The first one I saw did hardly anything. Then a friend recommended one (her IVF clinic sent her to him) and he was brilliant. I wasn't cured completely but was able to walk without too much pain.

Thankyou - that website is very helpful. I'll talk to my doctor this week and get some referrals for help.
