As this is a new forum with a whole new audience I thought maybe there were some new and different suggestions from people on where people seeking donors could advertise.

There are the usual places such as other forums, and all of the City Child's (sydney child, brisbane child etc) but is there somewhere different. Perhaps where you could attract the uni population (not all students are under 20 and sngle) or other likely candidates.

If you want to advertise on the Bub Hub then you can contact Brad Lauder at brad@bubhub.com.au. Or check these links: http://www.bubhub.com.au/listings.shtml and http://www.bubhub.com.au/advertise.shtml

Sorry mods - didn't expect you to be so efficient at our 'no advertising' policy in here!

I am happy for people wanting egg donations to make posts on the forum because I think that these people deserve a break! However, I'm going to set up a special section (within Egg Donation Issues) to allow them to do that. There are some rules and regs with regard to this issue so I wanted to just sort through these first before I made this section.

So Egg Donors / Recipients - you won't have to pay for advertising on our site, we'll include a section in the forum shortly for you to contact each other on a private basis. Keep an eye out!

Hi,
Can I place my advert in the Egg Donation Issues section? I am a Victorian and have approval from the Ministry of Health.
Thanks
Stephanie

Hiya - just give me a few minutes! I've logged on especially to set up an Egg Donor and Egg Recipients section. It should be live in about 30 mins and then that special section (which will be a sub-section of here) will be the best place to place an ad. Sorry for the delay!

Hi there,

After reading the rules and finding out that the egg donor advertisement section is only open to Australian residents, I was wondering if you would be open to having NZ recipients/donors use your site as a forum also. I realise this section is relatively new to your site but thought it might be something you'd consider?

Unfortunately with NZ being the size it is we seem to lack sites like this for us to turn to. With our locations being shown in our profiles I'm sure people will use their discretion to reply to the most appropriate person based on their own locations.

cheers

Hi

I don't have a problem with opening this to our NZ friends, however, I must just double-check the legal situation first before I change our rules/guidlelines.

The main reason for excluding non-Australians was because it's OK to receive payments for egg donations in some other countries and some donors from overseas would expect this - however, this is illegal in Australia and we could run into problems/disappointment if we have opened it up to the whole world.

Do you know what the situation is with regard to payment in NZ - is it also illegal in NZ to accept payment for an egg donation (aside from expenses incurred, such as travel and medical costs)?

I'll try and find out and if all is ok, we'll happily extend this section to NZ viewers.

I believe that Australia and NZ have the same "rules" when it comes to donation - altruistic only.

There are other sites where NZ recipients are permitted to advertise because of this...

HTH :)

Hi Roxy and bubhub administration,

Yes NZ definitely have the same rules e.g illegal to pay for donation but OK for sundries as mentioned.

Roxy - are you able to tell me what the other sites are that you mentioned for NZ?

OK - so the NZers are in! I'll update the 'guidelines' accordingly!
