Hi
I am a little nervous too. This will be my 3rd pregnancy. I already have a 2yr old daughter.
Last August I had a termination because when I had my dating ultrasound they found problems with the baby. I had the CVS (or was it the amnio?, the needle in my stomach to get some of the placenta) and got the results that the baby was missing a chromosome and I would either miscarry or the baby would die in the first few days of being born. I made the very hard decision to terminate the pregnancy. The doctors told me the chances were nil of this ever happening again, but I still worry.
I have my first ultrasound in 3 weeks so hoping everything goes ok this time.

Hello all, we found out recently that I am pregnant with my 2nd child. If all the dates are right it will due 2nd December.
But we are not clear as to the date because my cycle has been upside down. We got married on the 5th March this yr and because I didnt want to have my period on the wedding I started another pack straight away on the 25th Feb, can you believe it I came on anyway!!! I stopped the pill on the 4th and we started trying straight away.
I kept waiting for my period but it never came so we took a test to see what was going on and low and behold there was the line!!!!
Went to my Dr and he said he couldnt give us an exact date of birth as I hadnt really had a proper period! Have to wait untill our first scan!
Would so like to know how many wks I am!
Also Im terrified of having a miscarrage. We so much want another child, our son is 8yrs, we havent told him yet incase anything does happen. Is this a normal feeling because I didnt feel like this with my son???

Hi Gang,
This is our first! I keep getting cramps in pelvic area and back pains but no morning sickness.
Because of the MC, we are really cautious and are set for our first scan next friday to be sure, which is 7 weeks.
It could be because we have miscarried before, but I am having nightmares, and keep having bad thoughts. I try to remain positive but its difficult. do you guys have thoughts like this?
Where are you all based? I am in Acacia Gardens (Not far from CAstle Hill), NSW. Anyone able to recommend anything around the area?
Speak soon!

Hi Ani, You poor thing... I think its completely natural the way you are thinking, considering you have had a miscarriage before, and your having pain... I know it's hard to remain positive when you have already been down that road before... I hope that all is ok for you and you get some good news at your Ultrasound next week... I still have bad thoughts and I am 20 weeks pregnant, I am pretty sure the worrying never ever goes away... It is always in the back of your head... Take care and keep us updated... :)
Hi Rooander, It is completely normal to think about miscarriage, as it is becoming more and more common sadly... Theres not alot other people can say in regards miscarriage as this is something the individual has to deal with on her own until ready... Nobody wants to discuss it initially as you just want to have time to grieve no matter how far pregnant you are... I hope everything is fine for you, just try to keep positive... If you worry and stress too much, you lose the experience of being pregnant... :)

Hi all,
Just found out last week that I am pregnant. Very shocked, but happy. We wanted to start a family but were both scared, but now that it has happen I think we are happy.
I'm due Dec 5, give or take 1 week, I wasn't 100% sure about my last period.
Not sure what I am looking for, as I have actually nevered done the chat room thing. I guess I am looking for someone to talk to with similar situation and talk to those you have been there and done that.
I am not want you call the domesticated type either, hate cooking and cleaning and not use to kids either? Not sure if I'm cut up for being a mummy?
But just feeling happy, scared and teary???? Hope this is normal??

WOW I didn't think there would be other people online due at the same time so soon!
I just found out last week, I'm due on Dec 19th. I'm over the moon, this is my first so I hope all goes well. I have had plenty of advice from those close to me who have been down this path before.
At this stage I'm waking up really early in the mornings and not being able to get back to sleep - is this normal or is it just my excitment?!?

Hi,
I'm due December 4th, I know exactly as this one is through IVF. Worked first time too. I have a 4 year old, Daniel, but had an eptopic soon after, pretty much messed me up inside. Anyone else in Perth?

And all clear, with good fetal (sp?) heart beat.
Thanks for the comments noniandlilysmum, always nice to hear positive thoughts!
Shyla it is normal for me. I cried last week because I couldn't find anything to eat in the house! :-)
excited mumma I have the same thing with sleep. I think its excitement and nerves which do that (not to mention frequent visits to the bathroom!)
How is everyone progressing? Anyone else booked an OB yet?
Private or public?

Hi there
I'm also due December - December 5th.
This is my first pregnancy (I've just turned 30) and although I have done a lot of reading, I am finding there is a lot to think about and decide even at this early stage.
It is very interesting and I am looking forward to the coming months.
Best of luck to everyone.

Hi guys
I just posted for the first time yesterday and I can't believe how many new posts there are since then! It's so nice to be in contact, even via net, with others due at the same time as myself. (Dec 5)
I had my second doctors appointment today (the first was 1 1/2 weeks ago just to confirm pregnancy and take blood for tests etc.) Today's was just to confirm that blood tests are all fine and also so Dr could write me a referral to the hospital. Because this is my first baby I was/am unsure of the order to do everything in, ie when to book in, etc. So I went to the Hospital I am thinking of going to last week and did the tour. It was really informative and I would say to anyone not sure of which hopsital to go to, to go in and tour before you make up your mind.
The fact that we have so many tests available (scans, amnio, CVS etc if we choose to have them) is amazing, imagine how different our experience is to that of women 50 years ago. To be able to find out things like gender at 20 weeks and look at your baby on the ultrasound is really incredible.
I think it is only natural to have worries about miscarriage and about the baby's health. It would be a rare person not to ever have that cross their mind. All we can do is be good mothers to ourselves (ie eat well, take care etc). Doing that is giving the baby/babies inside each of us the best chance to be healthy and strong.
keep posting everyone!
X Kath
 Hi all,
I'm due on the 1st of Dec. and not sure whether to go private or public. I've been told that public costs nothing and that private, even with health insurance will be around $2000 - $3000 above what medicare and medical aid cover. Has anyone done much reserch in this area? I want to make sure I'm doing the right thing for my baby but is public satisfactory and safe?
There are so many things to plan and think about!!!

Hi
I had my daughter in a public hospital and the care was fantastic and it did not cost me a thing.
My friend had her son in the same hospital but went private and it ended up costing her over $5000. When we spoke about the care we both received, it sounded like I got the better care.
I guess it also depends on the midwives you get aswell cause mine were fantastic and my friends were horrible.
Natalie
Thanks Natalie, everyone I know has gone private and they all tell you horror stories of people who went public. Which public hospital did you go to? I live in the Hornsby area, does anyone know of the hospitals around here?

I can now happily join this thread. I'll be the last one due for the year, my due date is December 31st! This is our third child and we were TTC for 3 months (was almost ready to force my hubby onto a strict diet and copious vitamin supplements as was sure he was the one holding us up).
Had barely any symptoms, except the need to go to the toilet every 5 seconds and a triphasic temperature pattern, which provoked me to test yesterday (when period was due). Now just a day after testing am experiencing lots of little pains that I remember from my last 2 as being the ligaments stretching and that horrible metallic taste in my mouth, and a hint of nausea (it started at 6 weeks with the last 2, was hoping to escape it altogether). DH made the BIG mistake of saying perhaps these symptoms were all in my mind. He won't make that mistake again!
I'd love to go back to bed right now but hubby thoughtfully had an operation on his ankle so he could go back to running and so I'm taking care of him, our 1 and 2 year old and the house. If only I could have some caffeine to keep me awake!

:o Hi Everyone,
i am due on the 2nd, and as this is my first not too sure of what to do in what order, should i be booking in the hospital this early? I have my referral for scan but doc has said they probably won't want to see me till i'm 12 weeks, has anyone else had theirs earlier? i'm just a little anxious.

hey Mel,
I'm not sure of the order either, but I'm sure it will all work out fine. My doc told me that if I get in for an appointment at the hospital between 4 & 8 weeks I'll be fine, but when I rang up to send in my referal they said the first appointment will be around 12 weeks, and the first scan around 13 weeks - so now i'm being told 2 very different things and don't know what to do. I'm just over 6 weeks atm and am just waiting to hear back from the hospital, and if i don't hear back by thursday i'll just go back to my doc for some more advise, guidence etc.
Any one else in brisbane???

Hi
I'm not sure about everyone else but I am going through the midwives clinic in a public hospital. I have made an appointment to see the midwives when I'm 13 weeks. I had to go and see my GP to get the referrals for the ultrasounds and have booked the dating ultrasound for next week when I will be 9 weeks (I booked this 3 weeks ago). At the dating ultrasound I should find out if I'm 9 weeks for sure and then I can book my nuchal tranlucency (sp?) and the feotal anomoly (sp?). I'm sure if you ring the hospital you are planning on having your baby they will be able to tell you everything you need to know and do.

Hi girls. We found out yesterday that we are expecting our 2nd baby on 26th December. We have been trying for over 6months, so we are so relieved its finally happened. Anyone else from Brissy? Im going for my first scan in 2 weeks, just to check on everything. I had a rough time during my first pregnancy, so I will get to see my baby about every month(u/s every month to check on growth ect). Good luck to everyone, Hope to talk soon from Zoe

Hi,
I am going to a public birthing centre which is covered by medicare but they always sneak in extra fees depending on what you have done, for example if you have an epidural there is a gap that you have to pay. safety is the same whether you go public or private I am in Perth and I am going to king edward which is public but the leading materinty hospital in our state. hope this helps

Hi Zoe,
Hope all goes well for you too. I'm also in the brisbane area - due december 19th with my first. They say your first is most likely to go over term which would put me pretty close to a christmas delivery - if anything i'd like to be a week early or so, that way the baby will have a definate birthday very separate to christmas, but whatever happens happens.
Are you on the north side of brisbane?

Thanks, yes only 5 and a half weeks. Am nauseous 24 hours a day (was nauseous with the first 2 only about 12 hours a day and from 6 weeks). Wonder why, when I'm less stressed this time around it's happening much earlier? My friend who's having twins suggested that possibility!!

Hi Brooksy,
I am 9 weeks and have been waking up at about 2am every night as well, all my friends tell me this is your body trying to get you used to interupted nights, don't know if that's true or not though.
Your weekend away sounds awsome enjoy it as it may be the last you get as just you and hubby. :p

Hi Everyone
I had my ultrasound today and it looks like I am only 8 weeks pregnant, not 9 like I thought. The lady doing the ultrasound said it may be because my last cycle went for 5 weeks or something like that. So now I am due on the 13th December.

Hi Everyone,
I had my ultrasound on Tues and found out I was 1 week further than what i thought. So i'm now due on the 27th of Nov.
As a first time mum to be it was so exiting seeing the little one on the screen for the first time, you just can't explain the feeling.
Hope everyone is getting over their morning sickness, and starting to get more energy. :p :p

If we'll base it on the day I last had my period, Im due December 17 but according to the ultrasound, Im due December 22. It was such s nice feeling to see the baby's heartbeat and all. Im still a bit worried because there are some complications and the heartbeat is low. I just hope everything goes well.
Goodluck to us December mommies! This is my first so Im really excited and scared at the same time.

Hi All,
We're due with our 2nd baby on 29th December so I am now almost 12 weeks pregnant. It's been an anxious time because I had a miscarriage last Christmas Eve so I have been very worried that things might go wrong again.
Thankfully, all is still going smoothly and I have been feeling really well with hardly any morning sickness. I have already had 2 scans with my OB just to checking everything and we have our 12 week scan coming up this Friday so I am looking forward to that.
My husband and I are still debating whether or not to find out the sex. We already have a beautiful 2 year old daughter, so a boy would be nice this time but whatever we are blessed with will be wonderful.
Best wishes to everyone else due in December. It is going to be a busy month!

I was just wondering if there was anyone else due in December in my area - I live in Erskineville. I'm due on December 2nd it's our first bub & was a big surprise!!
I'm just getting used to the idea & trying to understand the health system -only been in Oz for 3 years & never needed it before!! I'm going the medicare route at the RPA in Newtown. I've booked hospital & birth centre tours to try & decide which way to go but it's pretty hard when you don't really know what it's like 'til you've done it!!
It would be great to get some advice on services etc. in the area especially some suitable excercise, yoga classes etc.
Just some friends in the same boat would be good!! :)

Hi everyone, I'm due on the 18th of Dec. So glad there are people here in a similar situation.
I'm going to be a first time mum, and being only 20 myself am the 1st person in my peer group to have even thought about having a child.
Have been experiencing constant nausea and random vomiting throughout so far (not fun) but being at 14 weeks now I am hoping that this will stop soon and I can start enjoying myself.
Anyone else having this problem? Also does anyone know when I can start to expect to feel the baby move?
