View Full Version : Finally A recipe 4 sugarless cookies
Hi I am only new so I am not sure if anyone has ever posted 1 before but I have been trying to get my hands on one for ages for my Daughter!!
So I would love to share!!
OAT BAR COOKIES
1 1/2 cup of oats
1/4 cup of Wholemeal flour
1/2 cup cranberries chopped(dried ones)
1/2 cup sultanas
1/4 cup of orange juice
1/4 cup of honey(now i know sugar,but natural & I am happy with that)
1 cup shredded apple
2 tb tahni(sp?) paste (sounds yuk but it is only sesame)helps bind the mix
Mix it all together, line a lamington tray with baking paper & press mixture in tray & bake in 170deg for 25min(or till golden brown)
Cool then cut into snack size portions.
Hope the kids enjoy as mine does:D
Mmmmm......they sound good. Will have to give them a go - after she finishes off the the apple muffins i made her yesterday.
I'm always looking for healthy snacks for Jenna.
Thanks

Well I am sure you can sounds like a good idea,my DD loves Cranberries but I think i might add pear next time!!
Tahni paste is a sesame seed paste, you can get it in the health food section at the supermarket or at your local health food store, it will be in a glass jar.

Looks like a yummo recipe.
I have seen in some recipes that you can replace sugar with apple juice concentrate. Has anyone done this before?
Hi
Yes I have heard that to,have not tried it thought maybe it may make the mixture to runny, maybe adding some coconut or something may fix that.
Cant hurt to try I guess:)

Maybe you could replace the orange juice and honey with the apple juice concentrate. Just a thought though. Might not work.:D

I know you can substitute apple puree into recipes, my mother makes a fabulous chocolate cake that uses applesauce (apple puree). But if you're doing a direct replacement for sugar then you may also need to check the moisture and reduce any oil or water accordingly.
Yogurt can also be substituted in some baking instead of oil. I have a great cinnamon carrot bread recipe which only used 3tbsp of oil, but it does have half a cup of brown sugar so not sugarless.
For a sugarless snack I tend to give Chloe a scone or tea biscuit with raisins.
hey thanks for that recipe i am going to try it today :D
LOL
I think it could work
If anyone tries these things can you come back on and tell us if it was a disaster that way we wont all be making the same mistake.
Who knows may turn out yummy:D
