Just wondering when everyone's kids learnt to successfully eat with a spoon? My daughter is 15 months old but hasnt got the hang of it yet...she tries to put the handle end in to eat off of. Also did you do anything or give them anything specific to help them learn to eat with a spoon?
Thanks:)

Started practicing at 11 months, mostly mastered by the time she turned 2. Though it's still pretty messy sometimes.
I let her use the wrong end of the spoon alot if it was something "sticky" like yogurt. All practice is good practice.

Ry started at about 11 months as well and mastered it quite early. From about 15 months, Mummy wasn't allowed to feed him anymore. He's 20 months old now and is just getting the hang of a fork - it scoops AND spikes !:D
He does sometimes get bored with it though and finishes off his dinner or dessert with his fingers....and a HUGE grin !
I find that when we all eat dinner together, he watches closely and copies.
Oh - and I found a little spoon and fork set early that had a loop for the handle so they could hold it tightly and not get it confused with the other end - it was a great starter - I'll see if I can find it and get the brand name for you.

i have given coby a spoon and he is almost 11 months... we get everything flicked around when he eats but hey wheres the fun if there is no mess??
he has mastered it pretty well but sometimes likes to eat the other end for awhile then goes back to scooping the food with the spoon
he likes to be grown up.. he watches his 5 year old uncle and wants to do everything the same
