I have a dilemma. My 2 yr old DD refuses to drink milk from anything except a bottle. I have continually tried to get her to drink from a cup, and offer her a drink every mealtime and several times in between, but she won't drink it.....what do I do?:(
She used to drink 300-500 mls a day, but hasn't had any for several days, and now she's getting run down and not sleeping properly. If anyone has any suggestions or ideas, PLEASE let me know!
have you tried the sippy cups that are very simalr to a bottle like the soft spout tommy tipee ones, I cant think of any thing else, Do you not want her to have a bottle any more

Maybe try a cup with a straw. I've seen some pretty cool wiggles ones in the baby section at woolies that are fairly cheap. It may be a new novelty for her.
I had this problem with my daughter. When I stopped bottles she refused milk altogether - she's an extremely stubborn girl. I made sure she had plenty of milk on her weet-bix and enough yoghurt and cheese. Each nap-time and at night I poured a cup of milk each for her and her sister, plus often one for myself, and I didn't push the issue. 6 months later she actually picked up the cup and found she liked the taste. She's now 2 & 1/2 and loves her milk. Took a long time, but she is an incredibly stubborn girl. I think as long as she's getting enough dairy products she doesn't really need the milk.

I would keep up the other dairy and also try -
a cup with plastic straw
make a milkshake or smoothy
make a slightly warm, very milky milo
My DD had a milk cup until recently, not a bottle but a special cup. It broke a couple of weeks back, she has been using it since 10m, and she took it really well. Yes she is drinking much less milk. Bust she is drinking from her big girl cup and having plenty of other dairy too.
I also took the opportunity to take DS's special milk cup away too, as they were the same cup and he is drinking from a propper cup for milk too.

I wouldn't worry too much. Maybe focus on getting dairy into her in other ways..........
smoothies
milk/yoghurt based homemade icypoles
white/cheese sauce
very weak warm milo
yoghurt based dips
Have you tried taking her shopping to buy a special cup?
Good Luck
Also it may help to remember that when they switch from bottles to cups they often drink less milk anyway.

I have literally bought over half a dozen different types of cups, including those tommy tippy ones, even ones she's chosen, but to no avail. She won't have any milk, not on cereal, not as a smoothy, nothing. She's even gone off yoghurt, but loves cheese. I just find she's not settling at night now, waking 5-6 times instead of just 1 or 2. I might just give her the bottle back and be extra vigilant with her dental hygiene?
Thanks anyway girls!
I have the same problem - and I have spent soooo much money on all these different types of cups that she refuses to drink milk out of! I can't seem to get rid of the bottle either and I want them gone!

I'm glad I'm not the only one!

my dd just turned 3 last month and i am not too worried about taking the bottle off her. she will drink some liquids from a cup and loves her sippy cups but she still like to drink her bottle in bed. when she falls asleep tho i take her bottle away and give her a few sips of water from another bottle just to rinse the milk out of her mouth.
imo - your dd will give up bottles in her own time and it saves many arguements if you don't push the issue.
