Hey girls,

Ive been sick for a good 3 months now, headaches, nausea, tiredness etc... and recently i posted a thread about some sight pain in my right side...

well i seen the doctor yesterday and i have to go and have an internal ultrasound (yuck) in the morning as she thinks i have an ovarian cyst....

Has anyone else had one or know of someone?..

Ive done some reasearch and theres a few nasty types of cyst that can leave you infertile

This all comes at a time when we decided to TTC...I suppose its better to know now then to wait till it bursts or causes bigger problems but im really scared!

It makes me feel more sick cause im worrying to much about it!

My mum, nana & sister all get these and have never had any probs, well other than the pains that they can cause. I remember mum telling me that nana had a huge one removed before we moved to aust.

My mum & sis both say they sometimes feel them pop, that doesn't cause probs for them either.

Oh, and there are 5 kids in my family, mum fell preg on the pill once & twice when she thought an IUD was preventing it, so her cysts didn't cause any probs at all.

Thankyou for sharing that...Makes me feel a little bit better! I always think the worst though..what if its endometriosis?? What if its polycystic syndrome?

Hi there,
I had a cyst on my ovary that was detected when I was 8 weeks pregnant (now 29 weeks) and I was going to have an operation to have it removed at 16 weeks. Mine was called a 'simple cyst' which meant that it wasn't cancerous or dangerous but it could cause my ovary to twist in pregnancy. Luckilly when I went for a last minute scan before the operation the cyst had shrunk of it's own accord so luckilly I didn't have to have the op. Good luck with your scan, try not to think worst case scenarios!

I had ovarian cysts, and one of them had to be removed because it was 6cm in diameter. However, I had no problem conceiving, in fact it only took us one month.
