my nan has cervical cancer...?

My nan has just been diagnosed with cervical cancer :crying: she has been bleeding for 2 yrs but has hidden it as she was to scared to get some bad news. today the results have come back from the biopsy. so now they have decided to operate and do a Hysterectomy. Has anybody known anyone who has been tru this that can give me some understanding on what will happen after? will she be ok? I have been trying to research it but can only find info on treatments but cant seem to find info what happens after the operate. will it be gone? can she die? Our whole family is so worried:( some family are flying to stay with us and support nan next week but I cant stop thinking about her :fingerscrossed: hope she will be ok....

I don't know what happens after the op, what do they usally so with cancer? medication?

My nan is going to the hospital tomorrow to get booked in for her operation and than we will know more how far it has spread and how bad it is:fingerscrossed: she will be okay.....
