Oh my I remember mine! How could I forget?! Apparently no matter how nutricious yor diet it toward the end of pregnancy some people have to go thru this!
Mine was so bad DH almost took me to hospital! At the end I took coloxyl tablets and metamucil, and workd like a treat!

Keep drinking puhlenty water and (metamucils every morning or evening) might be able to help you...

Good luck!

I'm not pregnant, but when I am constipated I take Lacdalol (I'm not sure of the spelling but pronouned lack-da-lole or something like that). It's readily available from a chemist. Sometimes it is hard to find.

It is a liquid lactose syrup and very gentle. It actually gives you plenty of warning when you need to go (lots of wind)

I am not sure on how it goes if your p/g though. Maybe ask the chemist.

How far to go are you with your preg? If you have long to go I say stay with the metamucils if I were you they are good even for everyday diets. I took 2 at that time but I was only 2 weeks prior to my due date something like that

Metamucil.... I could never forget. But luckily they have an orange flavour that doesn't taste that bad. It stopped the pain for me. I was told Senicot with one of my other pregnancies but didn't like the taste. The doc said that if I take it regularly it will soften it. I had it the whole pregnancy. Thank goodness. You do get used to the flavour. But I haven't taken it since HE HE!.

LOL ditto. But we still have the "left over" sitting in my pantry, to remind me that painful memory he he

try cutting out all the refined grains in your diet.....so wholemeal grain bread instead of whte, brown rice, raw sugar etc....this helps me :)

If you can bear the taste, try munching on dried prunes. That's what I'm supposed to be trying to do but ... yuck :(

Cod liver oil (even more yuck) might help, too.

The other thing to take into consideration is the iron supplements you are taking (if any). They are notorious for causing constipation. Try a change of brand/concentration to see if it eases the pain.

Make fibre your friend ! :D (not trying to sound like Derryn Hinch!!).....................

If your wanting to go the more natural way ............ I always find a good fibre cereal for breakfast works a treat, add some fruit on top and your guaranteed some movement!! :smiliedance:

Keep drinking the water and eating lots of fruit, as this will help as well!
