Okay need some advice from all you great mums out there

Am 24 weeks pg, started to feel incredibly dizzy, nauseaus, clammy, last Thursday morning - so went to the doctor - everything normal, normal blood, urine, bp etc, told to go home and put my feet up - Monday -still feeling dizzy,(it comes and goes in burst's)and have to sit down most of the time - very emotional and crying alot.
I hadn't been very hungry prior to this starting so though it could be that i haven't been eatting enough ,but have been making myself eat more and that doesn't help - need about 15 hours sleep each day!!! Oh - Am really thirsty all the time

Anyone else had this is the middle of there pg????? It's horrible - I wish I had had morning sickness at the start instead!!!

Any advice would be appreciated!!!!!!
Thanks

Hi,

I had the dizziness in my pregnancy and was told it was due to BP falling nothing to worry about just take it easy.. I sometimes feel the same as you when I dont eat enough pregnant and non pregnant and I normally need to eat something sugary the I feel better... I am not diabetic though and neither did I have Gestational diabetes...

Hope this helps

Hi! I had the same thing & I was told that it was my BP dropping rapidly too.

Everytime the doc tested my BP, it was normal, even a little high. I usually got the dizzy spells when I had been standing for a while. I would get really hot & sweaty & feel like I was going to collapse. I would have to sit down & rest for a while & only stand for short periods. I ended up have to leave work quite early because of it. It got a lot worse in the last few weeks too.

I'm sure that if there was something really wrong, your doc would pick up on it. Otherwise, if you are still worried, go get a second opinion.

I was dizzy in my pregnancy a lot of the time...I read that it COULD be caused by the pressure put on your body.

Have you been laying on your back? It is suggested that after the 4th month you don't do this...as it can slow the blood flow to your brain (causing you to feel dizzy).

Feeling tired in normal, IMO. Your body is doing lots of work...and even though you can't see it working (apart from your growing belly), it's pretty tiring. I hardly did anything when I was pregnant...I mostly sat down, slept (well...tried to sleep...it was hard to get much sleep in between every hourly pee-session) and rested. Getting from a to b was so difficult.

If your doctor has checked on you, I'm sure you're fine. But, if it doesn't improve a few weeks down the track, I'd get it looked at again. You, more than anyone, know when something's not right!

Hope u have had this checked out. Sounds like it might be symptoms of Gest. diabetes (thirsty all the time and very tired) I suffered with headaches, feeling like I could sleep for 12 hours at a time, peeing lots(normal pregnancy symptom), thirsty all the time. Was diagnosed with gestational diabetes at 28 weeks am now 31 weeks and control it with diet, not as hard as I thought it would be Good Luck:D

Hi all

I had the very same trouble when I was PG, thirsty, dizzy etc etc. Saw Doc and she said blood pressure was low due to bub needing more blood. Here are some and how to stop it that you may what to try ( some of them worked for me)

Drink PLENTY of water - meaning 2-3 litres of water, plus other fluids. By the way, I got really sick of drinking water so I put a bit of lemon in it, helped the flavour and the morning sickness too.

Rest when you can and sit up slowly when you get up, otherwise its headspin city

go slow, I worked up until 4 weeks b4 due date but I just conserved my energy ( lots of walking involved in my job but it can be done.

I was neg for gest. diabetes, the thirst may be your body telling you to drink more.

Hope this helps
