Hi! Im not sure what the average is, but it took me 5 months to fall pregnant with my daughter after coming off the pill.
I have read everywhere that it depends on the person. some people have fallen pregnant in the first month others it takes longuer.
Im in my second month of TTC after being of the pill. my cycle is back to normal but now its just a waiting game.
I don't want to wait too long as i'm eager to fall, only just convinced DF to try.

it is possible to fall whilst on the pill (trust me i know:p and so do a lot of others here)
depends on the individual person and their body...
for some reason i feel it will take ages. only came off pill last week and during 3 years of being on it I never fell preg even though i missed a few here and there.
It's not always easy to fall pregnant, even when you miss the pill here and there...I know I've worried myself sick thinking that I won't get pregnant when I go off the pill, as I've not been 100% strict the whole time I've been on the pill and I haven't fallen pregnant, but in reality there's only a few days each month on which a woman can fall pregnant (I know this from reading about charting and women TTC) and they were sorta kinda lying in high school sex education! ;)
Hey Clucky,
We are in the same situation I have been of the pill know for just over 2 weeks.
And still nothing yet, but for the last few days I have felt nauseas, low abdomen pains. So just hoping that I am preggers.
If you want to chat here is my email and msn: Taddy838@hotmail.com
Goodluck!!!

The pill works in a way that attempts to prevent your body from ovulating. When you stop taking the pill however, your body can go into ovulation overdrive, and try to make up for lost time! It is because of this that a lot of women fall pregnant really easily in their first week or two after being off the pill.
However, it isn't uncommon for women to miss this fertile period, and then have to wait up to 3 months for their bodies to adjust to being on a normal ovulating cycle again. When I fell with my first it took 3 months after finishing the pill to conceive.
I hope that helps!
ally84 - does that mean in that first week or two if you are trying constantly it is a high chance or just a possiblity?

Clucky,
I was on the depo-prevera needle for almost 12 months and stopped it on the 1st of december 2005, i have just found out that i am pregnant but with my last baby it took us six months,so i really think it depends on your body and how fast it gets back to normal.
Like I think everyone has said, it is different for everyone!
I had stopped taking the pill, after 9 years, at the start of August and was preg by the end of September. Cause of my age I thought it might take longer. My sil was the same, conceived the next month. It really took me by surprise at the time.
All the best of luck and have fun trying!!
thanks guys, i figured that it take approx 1-5 months but i will just have to learn to be patient and see what happens.
thanks again

This will be our fifth month of TTC and I had been on the pill for 8 years.
I hope it happens (for both of us!) soon, although there are other people on the forum who have waited a lot longer, so I just look at it of another month to try.
Good luck!
