my bubs has severe reflux and further issues yet still undiagnosis but they seem to think she has fpies (food protein induced enterocolitus sydnrom or eosinophilic esophagitis ... (waiting for the diagnosis from the pead gi when he gets back )

she has issues with pain .. i am trying to get her some pain medication and her speicalist gi is overseas until late next week .. her general peadiatrician is telling me its normal for kids her age with reflux to back arch .. from a learnt behaviour which is fine.. but she is on losec and still settles with a bit of gaviscon ..

however when she is really upset she is still throwing her back around arching and crying .. to me as it appears this is not normal .. so i just wanted to know if healthy kids - when they back arch is it coz they are tired..?? ( i know kids do this when they are tired. - my little miss will be doing this in her sleep and when she is eating . - she is just in pain all the time when she does it ) or do they do it when they are happy but frustrated (and they dont cry with it ?)

i just dont understand how they can tell me it is behavioural if she is still screaming with it and she has proven issues to complicate the matter

any thoughts would be great !!

Your post was a tincy bit confusing.
But, Jett always used to arch his back (He had reflux too) he did when he was sooky, hungry, just when he cried for something a little to long.
Im relatively sure its normal, I see alot of little babies do it when they are stressed/crying (usually when they have reflux)
But if its concerning you get it checked out, it cant hurt for your own self assurance.

Hope i helped.

hi bossoflatch.. alex has just started doing the same.. what he does when he is tired (and I am trying to give him quiet time before putting him in his cot) is tense his legs so as to stand on my lap then arches his back and head back.. it's like a protest... he cries too.. but he is a loud baby who is always up for a bit of a sook (first and only child syndrome.. he he)

Its very annoying but its a signal to me that there won't be a bedtime story or a sing and he just has to go straight to bed... and it works he is almost asleep before i leave the room..

You are probably on the look out for signals and symptoms always given little bubba's health concerns...

There is a actauly a condition called sandifers syndrome which can be assosiated with server reflux and OE maybe google it and have a read, its nothing bad it just explains the way they arche and go mad, like we was talking about the other night, only i couldnt think of the name as kenz has so many diagnosis i forget them so i asked her dr today what that one was
