My baby is growing up too fast & it scares me :( She's such a big kid now. I spent the afternoon going through all her old clothes & cant believe how little she was. 00000 was too big.

MJ has been crawling for a couple of months, & about a month ago started pulling herself up to standing, & Has now worked out she can cruise around the furniture. AND we finally have 1 tooth, & another has just cut through, so i've lost my gummy bear.

It makes me cry everytime she hurts herself which is quiet often. We have polished boards & atleast 3 times a day she falls & bangs her head :( She also has a bad habit of standing up, turning her back to the furniture & falling forward with her arms outstretched. She has also taken to following me around the house, even to the toilet.

But tonight was the worst - so far. She was crawling from the front door to the back door while I was cooking dinner which is all good, standing at the back door so the dogs would lick her hands :p Then before I know it, she crawled into the kitchen & puts her hand on the hot OVEN DOOR  She screamed, I cried, DH didnt know what to do. Her hand is fine thank god, but it sure gave her & I a scare.

How do you other mums do it? Does it ever get any easier?

It sure does get easier. My DS is 20 months old now and over the past couple of months, has become so very clever. When people come over, he takes them to the kitchen, points to the over and says 'Ow ! Hot !' :D even if it's not on....

He will play on his own for a little while, he'll play within earshot when I'm having a shower, he'll watch a bit of TV whilst I'm taking out the rubbish etc.

He knows what is 'OW' and what is okay to touch. If he finds something small on the floor, he'll bring it to me instead of trying to eat it.

We have polished floors as well and nowhere near as many 'incidents' as we used to have.

And tehen as they get older, you keep looking at those baby clothes and it still makes me cry....;)

RB - I know how your feeling im freaking out as bubs turns one in a few weeks & the thought of that makes my heart skip a beat & ive even now started freaking out over the fact its only a few more years till he goes to school !!!!!!
We have floorboards also doesnt that noise make you cringe actually i dont know whats worse that or bubs being in his cot & trying to walk over the other side & tripping over sheets & hearing that thud
Dont worry about her little accidents although maybe its time to invest in some baby gates ? Big W have some on sale atm saving $25 so we bought 3 LOL we have stairs :( so i cant risk it.
You have one beautiful little girl there no matter what you can be proud of the little person your raising :)

I hope it does get easier my dd is 10 months old and when she started crawling and cruising around the furniture she would fall and bump her head. She has had alot of bruises on her face from bumping it on the coffee table as well.I always swore she had a lead head cause she would hit it about 20 times a day.Shes walking now and dosnt bump her head as often now but instead she trips over:eek:
