Hi everyone

Just thought I'd introduce myself, as I'm a complete newcomer to this chat forum and also to Brisbane! My name is Natalie, and me, my husband (Terry) and 9 month old daughter (Amy) have just moved to Wellington Point from the UK. We're also expecting our second baby in August.

At the moment I'm feeling very nervous about having two kids so close together, especially as we've just left all our friends and family behind! So, all advice would be very welcome.

I also have a couple of questions - if anyone can help me? I'm looking into my ante-natal care here. I had our daughter by elective c-section because she was breech but, all being well, I'd like to have this one by vbac. I was wondering if anyone could suggest a supportive midwife/doctor in the Wellington Point area for this kind of thing?

Also, I would like to meet some other mums and get my daughter mixing with other kids. Are there any meetings or groups in my area?

I'm really sorry if this stuff has been covered before on this forum, and I appreciate any help you can offer.

Nat :)

Hello all!

Thanks for making me feel so welcome. I really am feeling out of my depth at the moment, although my husband is extremely supportive and my daughter is just gorgeous (of course!), it is really nice to chat to other people who are so friendly.

Nat

PS, the rain was lovely! The heat here has been a total shock to us, after all, it's about 30 degrees colder in the UK!! Still, we're getting used to it, and loving it now.

hi nat,

my name is mel, the only thing i can answer you on is having the 2 close together. my 2 are 2yrs and 13 days apart which i think is great as they are great with each other and i think they will be best of friends. My son (2.5 yr old tykeal) absolutely adores and is very protective of his little sister already (5 month old Phoenix-Jayde) i am sure if everythings alright with #2 that they will allow you to have a vbac. i think it just depends on how close they are and if your c scar has healed properly.

chat soon, take care
mel:-)

Hi Nat,

Welcome to Wellington Point. I hope you and your family have settled in.

My husband and I moved into the area in December and so far are loving it.
It's great to be away from the hustle and bustle of the city but close enough to enjoy the shopping.

Congrats on your pregnancy - we are trying for our second baby at the moment but are also nervous about the prospect of having two children so close together.
Our daughter is 11 months and her name is Ava.

Unfortuately I too am looking for a specialist in the area but are hoping to do some investigation this week.

If you would like to catch up for a coffee feel free to drop me a message anytime.

Take Care

Hi Nat

My name is Claire, I have a 9 month old baby girl named Samara, We live in Mount Gravatt East, which is not too much of a drive from you. Samara and I are always looking for someone to go and have coffee with so would love to meet up at sometime. Would be great to have a playmate samaras age!

A couple of mums and I get together in mount gravatt from time to time for a play and coffee and chat so your more than welcome to join us. PM me if you want more detail.

Surely your local GP/medical centre should have a list of midwifes.drs that specialise in vbac? anyway good luck with it all!
