Razorblades in my throat

On Thursday afternoon i started to get a sore throat then woke up Friday morning feeling like i had swallowed a packet of razorblades and haven't been able to eat since. Its even hurts to drink water.

I was told by the pharmacist that i could take Strepsils which i have been doing but they dont seem to be helping.

Im a BF mum so i know that there isnt alot i can take but i was wandering do i waste my time sitting at the Dr's surgery to be told that there is nothing i can take or does anyone know if there would be something the Dr could prescribe for me to take.????

Try some of those throat lozengers that numb the throat. You can get them from the chemist and althought they don't tast that nice thery work well.

Hi, it sounds to me like you have tonsilitis. Ive had it plenty of times and that is all the symptoms I had. Like sugar n spice said, off to the doctors tomorrow!!!:o

I'd hesitate to say what it is, but try to drink/sip water. Nice cool water, it should soothe the throat but also help your body fight any infection (if there is one). Good luck at the doctors s/he should be able to give you something safe to take while BF.

I'm also bf too and when I had a sore throat/cold type of bug my GP said to take strepsils but also to have a regular gargle of warm water with some salt, its meant to help. Hope you feel better soon.

Thanks for all the advice it turns out i do have tonsillits and the doctor has put me on amoxcyllin which is safe to take while BF.
