I spent most of last night trying to get to sleep

However, it's like lying next to a pig with a loudhailer and I have given up.

Anyone else have a partner who snores. It's really bloody annoying. No amount of hard kicks make any noticeable difference. Bah!

You guessed it there is a POLL coming :p

YES!

This is the reason why I wear ear plugs to bed every night!

I can't wear ear plugs as the twins sleep in our room and I would be worried that I may not hear them if their woke up.

DH is an occasional snorer....if he has had a few drinks at a dinner party, for example. it drives me insane. but he knows the rules. he wants a few drinks = he has to, without arguement, sleep in the spare room. no ifs and buts.

He snores occasionally.

It's the sleep talking that bothers me.

I would really like to know who the rabbits are.
And it's definitely not Aussie foot ball talk as he's not a fan.

yes, DF often asks me "where did this bruise come from?" ;) It so annoying, i usually just give him a swift kick to the leg or push his shoulder so he rolls over.
I have to race him to sleep so i don't have to listen to him. I even recorded him snoring! He didn't believe me when i told him he snored.

DH did, to the point that I would need to go to the spare bedroom to sleep. But he has lost a fair amount of weight recently and that has made everything better... I can sleep in our bed again. Yay

DH sometimes snores, only when he's sick or laying flat on his back. He often wakes himself up doing it :p

Bugger- i'm the snorer in our bed!I was going to start a new thread to see if any other mums are the culprits, and what to do!Doctor wants to send me for a sleep apnoa(sp) test, but even if that was it -what next?Oh, when i'm not sucking the walls in snoring, i can't sleep with repetitive sounds, even my husbands breathing annoys me (go figure!), and i wear those soft foam earplugs, and i still hear all my kids if they wake during the night, or you could only put one in, in the ear that's facing up,might block out some of the noise.Good luck

My hubby and I hardly sleep in the same bed LOL what does that tell you?!?

He is a shocking snorer, worse when he's been drinking or if he's really tired! I don't put up with it anymore, If i know he's had a big night drinking i sleep in with Josh or on the spare matress..

I gave up age's ago trying the punching, pushing etc etc...It don't work! So we spend many night's sleeeping seperate!
Sometime's it better for me as I get a better sleep...

No he doesn't snore but he sleep talks:rolleyes: Not all the time, just when I hop into bed he usually starts mumbling or telling me off for something. The other night he asked me what I was doing with that Glad-wrap, and the other night he yelled out, "Don't step there! The concrete is still wet!"

Hello friends never thought snoring can also be classified as a health problem, though having said that I do confess I am not sure why this occurs and as I have voted in the affirmative it can be easily assumed the nights are usually tormenting for me. Now having a look at this place am thinking of asking my partner to get a check up to evaluate the reason of this recurrent habit.

My DP only snores when he is really tired - Okay, so having a new baby in the house, it's been a bit more often lately... But I've been tired myself, so it doesn't keep me awake....

I've also done the recording thing cause he didnt believe me! :D

My ex did and he was one of those hugely annoying people who was asleep as soon as his head hit the pillow... whereas I have insomnia :banghead:

I used to go to bed an hour before him to try and get to sleep before he did - no luck there!!!

I recommend duct tape - place it over his mouth and wrap it around the back of his head - secure with aryldite (sp) and some quick dry cement.
Then he will have no option but to breathe through his nose :D

I do try and go to bed before him but sometimes this does not work  I just lay there listen to him snore all night

I think I may have insomnia cause some night when I can't sleep I get up and do my house work and end up going to bed any where from 2 to 4 in the morning!

But I do like your idea of the duck tape and cement

He snores when he's on his back. I poke him at least four times a night and snarl "Get on your side!".

DF snores but not too badly, it's only intolerable when he's really tired. He still gets jabbed in the leg and told to lay on his side. He also drools. :barf:
I snore too, but only when I'm super tired or very pregnant. I've woken myself up snoring. :o

mine snores too - I usually just push him over onto his side and he'll roll over. He doesn't even wake up!

And DS snores too when he's got a blocked nose so I have DS on my left in the cot and DH on the right. :hair:

So much so that we generally sleep in separate rooms. He thinks it is a marital problem, I think it is a sanity problem. I get really shirty if I don't sleep at least 7 hours a night and with DH, I generally get around 3. It would be worth it to keep him happy if I could get by on less sleep, but I just can't.

Anybody got any things they've tried that have worked? I use 32 decibel foam earplugs, but they just seem to cut out all the other noise and let the snoring through. DH had a septoplasty (septum was crushed during his birth) a few years ago, but that didn't help - in fact it probably made it worse. It seems to help if he sleeps on two pillows, but he says it hurts his neck.

I'd like to rectify it for a number of reasons - holidays mean zero sleep and aren't much of a 'break' for me and I'm really over stripping, making and washing sheets for an extra bed every week. Besides, it gets just too easy to live 'separate' lives this way. I'd really like to be able to wake up next to him, but it just doesn't work that way for us...

I think I'm starting to get used to it now... Or maybe I'm just so sleep deprived my brain just shuts out the noise :D

It only really annoys the living **** out of me when I'm trying to put DS back to sleep at 2am and I've just settled him then DH has one of those big snorts (I have nooo idea how to explain the noise... ladies with snorer hubbies, you all know the one...) and DS wakes up. I usually just throw a pillow at DH  . What's more annoying is he wakes up and gives me this "what did I do?" look!!:hair:
