Hi... was hoping for some advice on using formula to wean. I bf ds1 for 14 months and he came off no worries onto cows milk ( think being preg helped).

I have bf DD1 & DS2 for almost 8 months now. They have been on solids for a while too, we introduced a formula bottle at night to try and help get them to sleep a little longer, but lucas got rashy from it, we have now tried a soy formula and he is fine with that.
They only seem to want to take 3/4 of the recommended amount so that is all we make up (so no waste).
Although I love bfeeding I feel comfortable to start weaning them now ( and it reduces the pressure off me a little).
How many bottles do you usually go through in a 24 hour period though as these guys still wake 2-3 times through the night and only settle with a feed ( either boob or bottle depending on how tired i am!) we've been up for over an hour on many occasions trying to settle without a feed and it just doesn't work).
I've started giving them a bottle (150-180ml) at morning tea before a nap, one before bed, and have a couple in the fridge ready to go if they need them through the night...( I can kick DP out of bed now Hee Hee!!) They also have water and boob here and there through the day plus solids. They are just avg in weight for their age and are really active- crawling and running around in the walkers... i'm just confused about how much formula they should be having.
One of my boobs is fairly full in the morning and the other is hard as a rock, so im dying to give them a breakfast boob!! (they have a boob each rather than share)

Geez, i sound so clueless  and all overr the shop... please help!!!
