My 23-month-old daughter has been sick the last few days. The last two days she has had a temp between 38-39 degrees as well as a runny nose and phlemy (sp?) cough. She slept from 7pm-7am Sunday night (usually doesnt go to bed til 8:30-9:00).
Today her temp is normal but her cough and runny nose are worse. She had a 4 hour nap (usually has 2 hours), she looks pale and very drained with red eyes that are half closed. She has been very quiet, not eating much and is just very out of it.
Have been giving her panadol a couple of times a day.
Is this just a bad cold or could it be something else? Should I organise a docs app?
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi!

I would definately be taking her to the doctor. Especially with this nasty flu going around. If she is really phlemmy she could have a chest infection which will need antibiotics. My 10 month old has had a bad chest infection for the past month and it took three lots of antibiotics to clear it up. I wouldnt be to focusing on what she's eating so much as making sure she keeps up her fluids. So yes i do think you should get her checked by a doctor. It's better to be safe than sorry.

Hope your little angel gets well soon!:hugs:

could be her 2yr molars if she doesn't have them, cause temps and runny nose can be signs of teething, but then the cough doesn't fit into that.
sorry not much help.
hope she gets better soon meegs.
