View Full Version : Oct 06 Mums & Bubs - Sept 07 Chat Thread
:wizard: here is our new thread for a new month.
September already! This time last year I had finished work and was madly nesting and anticipating Jet's arrival...gosh that year went fast!
Spring has sprung and I have a walking baby :smiliedance: - actually I suppose that means he's a toddler!?
How are we all? What's your news?
WOW!! August absolutely flew by didn't it? We were all a little quieter than normal too - only 16 pages worth!!
Kimba - How exciting that Jet is walking!! It's so cute isn't it? I often look back at videos of the boys when they first started to walk. I could watch them all day, lol! So, so cute about Jet talking on the phone too! Is your little man feeling any better today?
Beck - How's Kayley today? Poor little mite. How did you go with the opens - many interested?
Sal - Speaking of selling houses - How did you go with that investor? Any luck?
Sare - Did I read somewhere that Lara slept through? I sure hope you did too then, lol! Isn't it annoying when your body wakes you up just expecting them to wake too? Have you got your new car yet?
Rian - Congrats on your wedding. I hope your day was magical! And, congrats on James and his walking. He looks so cute.
Di - Na, sorry. Can't help you on the milk situation. Jarvis is still loving his booby, day and night! It sounds like he is eating enough food though, so he should be right. I have a friend actually with a little one a couple of weeks younger than Jarvis, and she says that he has pretty much dropped most of his feeds too, and prefers to eat. Just go with it, he'll be fine! Hope you're keeping well - How many weeks along are you now? Will you be finding out the gender of this one?
Mary-Anne - Good to hear you got the results you were looking for. I had to laugh at your big Phew too, sorry, lol! Re: standing up toys - we have a Fisher Price Activity Table, and a couple of other different Fisher Price contraptions that I forget the names of, that he can stand up and play at also. It's so great that they can stand now, but OMG! The mischief they can get into now! Not to mention the head knocks and falls, etc, lol.
Georgia - How you doing? I hope you've managed some more sleep these past couple of nights.
Well, I have a sick baby here again too! I'm so shattered for him. He's coughing up a storm, and has vomitted a few times from coughing too much. He still seems happy enough, it's just the cough. So, I've given him some of the medication he got when he had the croup to help settle him at night the last couple of nights. It seems to be helping tonight, so fingers crossed he doesn't have me up all those 6 times I was up with him last night!!
I'm another that has tested and had the result of a :bfn: I'm not surprised at the result as AF still hasn't returned anyway, but with the 'symptoms' I've been having this last month or so, I though she might be on her way home. Although I didn't 'feel' pregnant, DH was pestering me to do the test. I was a little sad, but as I said, I wasn't expecting it to show a :bfp: I'll just sit back and wait for AF to arrive now *sighs and starts twiddling her thumbs*
Off to bed I think now. I'm exhausted after last night.
Hope everyone is good,
Sarah
Hi All
Just a quick one from me. DH took the day off yesterday as I had caught Kayley's bug and was throwing up and going to the toilet all morning! Lovely.
Kayley is still a bit off food at the moment but seems pretty good. Was only up once last night for a feed at 3am so I hope I can make that a bit of a habit!
I can't believe it is September already. I was gong to go back to work next week - I am kinda glad we are moving now and I get a bit longer home with my bubba.
As for the house we had 9 groups through and a couple of offers which were a lot lower than we hoped. The agent said that was normal with people just trying to pick up a bargain in the first weeks. Well more opens next weekend and will see how we go. Still have had no luck with a rental property in Adelaide yet - the market is sooo tight over there!
Kimba - Wow on Jet walking. Kayley is miles off at this point I think. SHe can't stand without holding anything - but she is pulling herself up on everything she can.
Sal - how are you going with your house?
Sarah - I hope Jarvis is better again soon. I just hate it when they are sick. When Kayley was vomiting all night the other day she would just stare at me with the saddest look on her face - it is so hard to watch. Oh and I will see if I can get another ticket. You may be able to have mine as I mighn't be able to organise going as well as getting ready for our open.
Hey has anyone got themselves onto Facebook - it has been a bit addicitve so far!!
Well I better run - have a great day all.
Hey girls,
Adam nearly ate a frog......a real one!!!! I had him out on the drive while I was sweeping the mud and dirt off and he was playing in the shrubs. I saw him with something and thought it was a leaf. I went to get it off him as I don't really want him eating plants yet and it was a tiny little green tree frog. Not sure who had the bigger fright- me or the poor frog.....needless to say it hopped into the bushes and hasn't returned. Didn't stop Adam from ripping a couple of plants apart looking for it though !!!!! Gee whiz
Hope all the Dad's had a good father's day. I think Dh did. We all did anyway lol
Sarah: You've done so well with Jarvis - he's a lucky boy to still be enjoying his boobie:thumbsup:
We will be 11 weeks on Friday. Everything is fine. No m/s at all just tired ( lucky to see 8pm most nights before crashing out in the chair). We will be finding out the sex of this one too. We did with Adam which was funny as I didn't with any of the other 3.
Dh is hoping for a girl as he hasn't got one of his own - I keep telling him to look at my dear 16 &15 year olds and count himself lucky but he thinks if we have a girl she won't go through all of the girl things..... (poor fool!!!!!). I'm not fussed either way, a girl would be nice for him but we have a trillion boys things so that would work too.
Kimba: way to go on the walking....I think lol. I have enough trouble keeping track of captain destructo now..heaven help me when he is even more mobile.
Beck: hope all goes well with selling and finding a house. Adelaide is hard to rent but hey, if my ex can get a house over there-anyone can......Good luck.
Best be off. Junior discovered fairy bread this morning and my kitchen floor is now yellow, red, pink and green flecks.....
:hair: this is me at the moment! As cute as Jet is (he can do 5-7 steps in a row now! ) he is kind of doing my head in. He's still sick, so I'm home with him today, and for the last 4 days he has refused to sleep, refused to eat, refused to drink milk (well that one only the last 2 days). So of course on top of being sick he's tired, and hungry = whingy.
He usually has a nap at 9am for about 40min (sometimes 1-2 hours) and then from 12.30 in the afternoon for 1-2 hours. But at the moment whenever I put him to bed he just stands up and whinges for me, or stands there and chews all the lacquer off his cot. :banghead:
I'm wondering if maybe he's trying to cut down to one nap a day? I've tried leaving him up all morning and just putting him down for his afternoon nap, but then he only sleeps for about half an hour (if at all) so by evening he's way overtired...
On top of that, every time I feed him he'll have a couple of mouthfuls and that's it, no matter what it is. Finger food just gets played with and mashed into the floor. Today he's even refusing to drink his milk at naptime which is worrying because at least if he's getting milk I don't worry too much.
My major 'buttons' with him are sleep and food and he's pushing both of them right now! Sounds awful but I hope he's well enough for daycare tomorrow, so that someone else can have a go...
Di - LOL at the frog!!!! I don't dare turn my back on Jet in the garden or on the balcony because he just sticks all the leaves in his mouth and I'm not sure what's toxic...???
Beck - I am on facebook and duly addicted, PM me your email address and I'll find you on there - same goes for everyone else! good luck with selling your house and finding a place to rent.
Sarah - hope poor Jarvis is better soon, jet has been doing the same (coughing so much he vomits). Bad luck with the BFN but hopefully AF will come back soon and you can start trying in earnest!
I better go, Jet is awake and whinging (he only slept for 20 min aaaarrrrgggghhhh)

OMG Kimba, sounds exactly like Sophia at the moment, driving me mad esp. the standing in the cot thing. But yay on the walking what a clever little man!
Di - lol about Adam and the frog, a good lesson in French cookery!
Beck - You poor love with the gastro, I hope it passes through your house as quick as possible :hugs:
Sarah - I love an hpt as well, always hoping! Hopefully it will be really soon for you!
Had the important awards last night and we stayed the same as last year which is great (minus rest. of the year though) So happy with that.
Not happy though about Sophia's sleep, she had me up so many times last night I am like a zombie the whole time now:( Hopefully it is a phase that will pass. I would love one good night though, just to feel human again!
OK, bbl, lotsa work to do!
Kimba, Georgia - Hope things settle for you both soon! I am actually thinking about waking Kayley up as she has been asleep since 11.30:eek: ! She was also only up once last night which is magical for us!
My little girl is walking too! :smiliedance: Up to 6 steps or so, just depends what she wants and if she is patient enough to get to it the slow way.
We went to parents for fathers day weekend, and i knew the kids would be enough to get my baby moving. She even slept well even though its a noisy zoo!
What i didnt know was that she would also start talking, real talking. She only says mum when she is crying and mad at me, so i dont count it, and the various strange words she says once dont count. But all weeked it was "dee dee" "dee dee" as she chased my little sister DIDI around adoringly! My baby loves the younger hotter version of me better! :crying:
For the long drive home she lamented leaving 'dee dee' and once home she wasnt sure about staying here without playmates until she saw one of her socks on the floor. She has this thing about socks. Only hers, and she has to have one in each hand, and she flaps them, sings songs to them, hides them to discover later...whatever you do, DONT try and take her socks away.
Thats no good about all the sick babies. I attest my healthy baby to my grotty house. She gets her daily dose of penicillin when she discovers the toast she hid last week.
Kimba - yay on jet walking! All our babies are mobile in one way or another now arent they? NOW can we race them?
Di - i would rather abbey eat a live frog than a roach or spider...seeing a hairy roach leg hanging out of her mouth as she looks at me proudly, having hunted and caught her own dinner, cavebaby style...no thanks! At least a frog will go down quickly, *slurrrrp*!
Rian - congrats on the wedding. Glad it finally went off!
Sneaky baby is playing fish music in her cot, and it got cool, so better go wrestle a jacket on to her. Oh the humanity!
Michelle
Hi girls,
Sorry we've been MIA. There really doesn't seem to be enough hours in the day at the moment.
for the last 4 days he has refused to sleep, refused to eat, refused to drink milk (well that one only the last 2 days). So of course on top of being sick he's tired, and hungry = whingy.
Ditto for the last 3 days for us. We've just got back from the drs after Lara's temp hit 39.5 this afternoon (she's had a temp since Sunday). She's ok, just a virus that's given her a sore throat (AGAIN!!! I think she's going to be like me and suffer badly from tonsilitis).
:yelclap: to Abbey, Jet and James for getting up and walking. Very cute video of James, Rian.
Michelle - Abbey sounds like such a character. Love the sock fetish. Lara's more into shoes, but not to the extent of Abbey and her socks
Georgia - :hugs: Sleep deprivation sucks. Have you looked in to sleep schools? Sophia used to be a good sleeper, didn't she? Not fair when they change their good habits into bad ones. Congratulations on the award night results.
Beck - Hope you and Kayley are feeling better. Sounds promising all the people that you had visit your open house on the weekend. Good luck in your search for a rental property.
Di - on Adam almost eating a frog.
Sarah - I hope Jarvis gets better soon. Have you found that the bugs that the kids catch seem to be lingering longer this year? Just when we think that we've shaken all the illnesses off, they decide to come back to visit us again (I wish they wouldn't). I hope AF returns for you soon, not fair when you want your BFP soon.
Not much other news here...we're still waiting on the new car. We're waiting for the encumbrance to be lifted. We'll definitely have it on Thursday.
I had to postpone Lara's chiro appointment because we could only get a drs appointment at the same time, so we have to wait until next Tues for that now.
That's enough from me...hope all the sick mummies and bubba are on the mend.
Take care...
Hi Guys,
Haven't caught up on all the posts yet but just wanted to say 2 things before I'll BBL...
AF has returned :smiliedance: never thought I'd be happy about that!
Myself and two guys from work unloaded 24 000 trees yesterday. OMG my thighs are total jelly today!
BBL
Hi All
I can't believe so many walkers already - we really have an advanced bunch in here don't we considering the average is 12 months or so! I think Kayley will be Miss average but I am happy with that - she gets around enough already!
Well DH got the bug last night and between him groaning and throwing up half the night and Kayley being a bit of a bugger I am a bit tired today! Oh well lucky I have nothing big on.
Sare - poor Lara - she seems to be getting sick a lot the poor chicken - I hope that means it averages out and she gets less later on.
Sarah - I hope AF comes back for you soon! I am quite happy not having anything happen there for now - one less thing to worry about!
Di - LOL on the frog - apparently I ate all sorts of things when I was little. i have been told many times about a storey that I ate a cricket while my sisters watched and then they went and told mum on me thinking i would get into trouble but they did for not stopping me - anyway criskets are probably full of great protein!
Michelle - I can just imagine mouldy bits of toast!! I call Kayleys high chair the grotmobile as it doesn't matter how many times I clean it I just can't keep it clean!!
Well I better run. Have a great day everyone!
gotto ask wat is face book?
hey ladies just a quickie, go to ************* as they have a mega baby box on sale for $20. Supposedly $80 worth of top brand stuff. I figure if it's no good for our bubs then it could make a good gift for friends who are expecting.
ta-ta!
I'm back, feeling a bit sad as I tried to give Ella a sippy cup of milk at bedtime (that's what she has in the morning now) instead of a boobie - and OMG the screeching and throwing oneself down into the boobie position! I totally caved as I am SO not going to turn bedtime into a battle again now she's going to sleep so easily and usually only waking once a night. So I feel like a bit of a failure - funny, felt like a failure cos I struggled to get bfing started, now feel sad cos I can't get it to end easily... there's obviously no pleasing me!
I don't know how to move on from the two night boobie feeds - going to ring the ABA line tomorrow & see if they can help me out.
Great news on the AF front - my crippling period pain has completely GONE!!! It was almost surreal, I used to be drugged up & still in pain for at least three days a cycle for the last 10 or so years. Yay for having babies - maybe it's cleared up my endo?
Sue - facebook is a website that you can have your own page on with photos & blogs & stuff. I think. Never actually checked it out - I have enough internet obsessions with Ebay, Torrid & the Hub - don't have time for any more!!
Sitting here eating Chocolate Obsession icecream... I'm so going to pack it back on after Ella's weaned!
Beck, hope your poor pair get better soon (and you don't get it!!) gastro is the worst. I don't think Ella will walk early either - she can stand alone for a few seconds, but nowhere near taking steps.
Sare - hugs to you & poor little Lara sick again. I bet her sleep settles right down again when the "sickness" season is over!
Michelle - never underestimate novelty value, I remember getting a kick out of how cool my niece thought I was when she hardly ever saw me, & of course now Ella is soooo much more charming around my sister than anyone else! I LOL'd here at the sock story too!
Georgia, really glad the awards went well for you. You have me contemplating going to your restaurant next time we visit the "big smoke" (I'm a total foodie)- bet I could only afford an entree though you sound so flash!
Kimba :hugs: over the rough time you & Jet are having. It really sounds like he is sick & not feeling himself doesn't it.
Di eeeew with the frog story - I have a thing about frogs and that sent shivers down my spine! I'm with Kimba - can't let Ella more than 10cm away from me on the lawn, as she'd be eating everything she could pick up. That's what the swing is for...she's trapped while I do the weeding!
Better go & make a cuppa for spicks & specks time.
:wizard: Good night's sleep to everyone!!

HI Chickies,
Bec - are you weaning for all feeds now? I know how it feels to have your top clawed at! I'm not ready for dinner yet, just losing the day feeds. re: our restaurant, i'd love you to come in next time you're up, how exciting!
Beck - lol about your cricket story, the tell tale stories are so funny, my brothers alwys used to try and stitch me up, mostly successfully! Hope all is well in your house, poor hubby of yours.
Sare - Yep, she was a great sleeper until she got her first illness. I don't think i've got it in me for cc but ask me in a few months, I might have changed my mind!
Michelle - :smiliedance: for clever Abbey walking :yelclap:
Busy day with a cr@p sleep as usual. We went for our follow up appt. with the paed today from the hosp. who was so lovely, we ended up talking about weaning etc, night waking and all sorts. He said that children at this age onwards really only need 2 cups of milk a day max or other dairy which made me feel a bit better about Sophia not taking milk from anything but (.)(.)
Haven't been caught up by apec yet which is great, I have found the traffic lighter if anything.
OK, better go and do so some work, we're going to nz to see the ils on Friday so got lots to do before we go.
Morning All
Well health seems to be returning to our household - yay! I think it was a particularly catchy strain of gastro. What is interesting is that we all went out to tea on Saturday so I am not sure how many othes we have passed it on to (or Kayley has as I wasn't sick then yet).
Got a call from work yesterday. They want me to come back in Melbourne for a couple of weeks before I move - eek - I told them it is a bit hard but they were very persistant. Well I have to be strong....Kayley is not weaned and I don't want to do it to her in just a couple of days.
Talking about weaning - Bec - let me know how you go with the 2 night feed thingy. Kayley has 2 feeds a night most nights (was none when she was sick which wa the only bonus - it didn't stick when she got better!). I try not to give it to her and we end up up for hours until I give in. I really think she is hungry (doesn't help she is big I think - she is off the top of the height charts for her age). It is OK now but not sure how I will go going back to work.
Well I have asked for a start date of 29 October in Adelaide to give us time to get sorted but I think they want me to start early October so will see how we go! I have to work out what days to work too - anyone have any good experiences around this? I am thinking Mon, Tues and Fri to split up child care but Mon, Tues, Wed with a 4 day weekend sounds good - oh too many decisions!
Georgia - so with you dropping the day feeds is Sophia not having any formula? These booby fed bubbas - who knew it would be so hard to get them to stop it!
Bec - yeah the MHCN told me that it was often really hard to wean babies who thrived at the breast (didn't tell us that at the start though did they)!! If I have another one I am going to try to give them an expressed bottle at least twice a week so they are used to the bottle thing for later on!
Kimba - let us know how you go with your $20 bargain!
Well I better go - hope everyone has a great day!
Hi girls,
Not much new to report here...Lara seems to be a little better today, but boy was she sick yesterday. It looks like her sore throat has made her gag reflex sensitive. She was gagging when I put my (.)(.) near her mouth, the poor little sausage and threw up after I put her dummy in (only 1 of the 6 or 7 times she vomitted yesterday!). She seems better this morning, but who knows what the day will bring? Right now she is happy pulling the clean washing out of the laundry basket. The dr said that babies get a sore throat about once every 6 weeks. I wish I thought to say that this was the 3rd time she'd had one in 6 weeks. We're thinking that we may stop swimming lessons for a while and see if that helps her stay better.
:fingerscrossed: we are going to pick up my new car this afternoon. It's been one hassle after another dealing with this business. Apparently they got a detailer in to give it a going over (at our expense) and it's looking brand spanking new. :smiliedance:
Beck - Good luck dealing ith work. Can't help on which days with part time, but a 4 day weekend sounds good to me! Glad to hear that you guys are all feeling better now.
Georgia - Lara sounds so much like Sophia, sleeping badly and only wanting boobie. Good luck with the weaning, let us know how you go.
Bec - I had to laugh when you said that Ella threw herself into boobie position ... these babies certainly know what they want! Good luck with the weaning. I found with Eloise that the night-time feed was the most difficult one to stop, because it was more of a comfort thing. Can't remember how I eventually stopped it though, sorry.
Kimba - I missed out on catch of the day, they had already sold out. Thanks for the tip though.
Well better go and get myself showered :o Bit of a lazy morning here.
Have a great day girls...
:smiliedance: I had my first night of unbroken sleep in 2 - 3 weeks last night! I felt so good this morning, I was able to jump out of bed at 7.15am, instead of crawl out at 8.00am, lol!
I've been busy this morning. Had an appoint to try and get these contact lenses sorted...again...I have been sent away with yet another prescription. :fingerscrossed: these will be the ones!
Before that though, I landed on the door step of Toys R Us at 8.59am to sweep up some Christmas bargains!! I was very pleased with my purchases, and their price tags. They just didn't have the Shrek operation game that I wanted. Oh well, once I'm done at Mattel on Saturday hopefully there won't be much more to get!
I tried out Aldi this morning too. Does anybody else shop there? What do you think? I had to line up for about 20 mins though, which wasn't fun with an arm full of stuff and a tired baby, but I did notice the difference in price, even though I didn't really get that much!
Sare: Hugs for little Lara. It's just not fair is it? Such a cute little button, sick again. I hope she's on the mend really soon. Now, don't you be driving all around the country side in your new car today, lol!! I would be though. Hope you get it without any problems.
Beck: Good to hear that good health is returning. I suppose it's good that it didn't last too long, hey? Good luck with making your decision about work. Had you made an arrangement that you wouldn't go back in Melb and just wait till you moved - or were you still planning on going back? It does sound a little pushy to expect you back in a couple of weeks otherwise - I agree, too much organising and changed routine atm!
Grr, little J man is awake already - he's only been asleep about 30mins! bbl if I get a chance

Hi everyone.
I am sorry I have been MIA for the last week or so.
I have actually been reading everyone's posts, just too lazy to write anything :o
So a big shout out to those with super clever bubs- ie, Jet and Abbey, who are WALKING:eek:
Michelle- Abbey sounds so much like Nedd, he has a fascination with his socks too! When my mum came over on the weekend he spent all day saying Nanna, and he is proficient in Dadda, but the only time I hear mum (and even then it is questionable) is when he is grumpy with me!
Sare and Georgia, sorry to hear you are still having no luck with sleeping and illnesses. I really feel for you both!
Sarah- congrats on the sleep, doesn't it make you feel grand!
And Beck, glad to hear all is getting better in your household!
I know I've missed some, but be assured I have been reading and oohing and aahing at the right spots!
There really isn't much to report here. Nedd actaully stood up all on his own the other day- and stayed there for a few seconds, it was very cute- until he lost his balance and faceplanted on the slate flooring (he forgot to put his arms out to catch himself) so ended up with a fat lip.
I am pretty sure he is teething, he has been very grizzly and clingy, and has bright red cheeks most of the time, but I cannot get near his mouth to see what going on in there.
For the last two days he has only had ONE daytime sleep- of fours hours. I know he is not ready to drop a sleep though, so if it happens again today, I will start waking him after two hours so he goes again in the arvo.
He is still being very adorable, sleeping through or nearly almost most nights- though last night was a shocker and I ended up sleeping with him in the spare bed. I have a splitting headache today because of it!
OK, back to do some work, I have a pile of it to get through. Promise I will be more vigilant!
Hi all,
Jet has a horrible cough but otherwise seems to be on the mend, he woke last night wanting feeds at 10 and 4.30 which is pretty much what he was doing before he got sick.
As for me, I'm finally doing something to get this weight off and I've lost 5kg woohoo. Only a zillion more to go but it's a start :D
Re: weaning. I had to give Jet bottles as a topup from about 3 weeks old so I was lucky that he would take either boob or bottle, I'm sure it made weaning much easier. Also helped that my milk had pretty much run dry, so it wasn't hard to convince him to take a bottle instead!
Sal - ouch on the faceplant! won't be long before Nedd starts taking steps, Jet started with just standing on his own, a few weeks ago. Re: dropping a nap. I don't think Jet is quite ready to drop to one nap yet either, but he's been refusing his morning nap more often so maybe he's making the decision for me. He only ever slept 40min in the morning anyway.
Sarah - nice one on the sleep last night hope you get another good one tonight. Re: ALDI, yep I love it for the basics, its much cheaper than anywhere else and I've been really impressed with the quality of everything. That said, they don't sell most of the things I need! so I usually do an ALDI shop once a month to stock up on basics and then do weekly shops at Woolies for the rest.
Sare - hope you got to pick up your new car today! I'm so jealous, I'd love a Territory. Glad to hear Lara is a bit better. Re: swimming lessons. Our local pool is a bit grotty :barf: which is part of the reason I haven't taken Jet to lessons yet, I was worried he'd get sick (or MORE sick than he has been!). As a child I used to get heaps of middle ear infections from swimming and i wouldn't wish that on him!
Beck - good to see you on Facebook LOL now I know what you look like!!! could never really see in your photos. Good luck with sorting out work and the move. Is there any way you could agree to start early but working from home? (compromise). For 3 days I would definitely do Tue-Wed-Thu so that you get 4 days in a row at home - you need it just to get things done as well as having quality time with your bub. Spacing it out is harder to manage, and also a bit confusing for the bubs IMO to chop and change every day.
Georgia - have a great weekend in NZ with the inlaws! You'll probably get there quicker than it will take us to drive down the coast tomorrow.
Bec - be proud that Ella is such a booby girl and doesn't want to give it up! I felt a bit sad when Jet weaned without blinking an eye. I noticed that about AF as well. Milder AND shorter. Very happy with that :)
Michelle - congrats on Abbey walking :yelclap: It's so cute isn't it!
OK I'd better go...got a spreadsheet to finish before I go home this afternoon. Looking forward to my 4 day weekend, we're going to visit my family down the coast.
Enjoy your weekend all!

Morning all.
Yay Kimba on the wieght loss- you go girl!
I bought a treadmill a few weeks ago off ebay, and it is actually getting more use than I thought it might- now I just have to work on the healthy eating side of things (which is where i let myself down terribly)
We are both off to melb today, I am dropping Nedd off with SIL for a playdate with his cousin, and heading off to do some work.
Michelle just thought I would mention that Nedd is currently sitting next to me, madly flapping and chewing on my smelly socks from last night watching Baby einstein....there's that sock fetish!
What are fave foods amongst our babes at the moment?
Nedd has just discovered a love if kiwi fruit, he can't get enough and will even bypass his banana for it.
He is also on a pancake bender after going off sandwiches. I found a great spread at the supermarket too- it is with the philly cream cheeses, and is munchables flavoured cream cheese- we have banana here and it is a huge hit on toast and pancakes.
Ok better run, have a great day all!
:)
Hi all,
This house is visiting gastro land and has been since Saturday morning. Sam has stopped vomiting but I just got him out of the bath after yet another exploding nappy :barf: We're all happy enough though. There is just so much washing to do and DH is away with work, so no help! Speaking of weight loss, this bug has left me a couple of kilos lighter as I still don't feel like eating much.
Favourite foods:
Jalna vanilla yoghurt
Pumpkin/broccoli, sweet potato and asparagus mash
Baby custard (in a packet)
Beef goulash
Vegemite/philly toast
apples/mashed banana/pears with farex
Cheesey omelette
Scrambled eggs
Hokkien noodles stir fried with chilli, garlic, sesame oil and light soy sauce and veg
Fried rice
Apricot porridge (baby packet)
Weet-bix
potato/peas/corn/tuna fritters with a touch of curry powder
meatballs cooked in tomato soup
Thai chicken balls with plum sauce
Sam and I met up with Ella and Bec and had a great time. We would have had cake but the kiddies had had enough! Next time we'll have cake for lunch instead of actual food, huh Bec?:D
I am interested to see what other bubs are eating as well. Wow - he FINALLy fell asleep. Might go have a cuppa while clingy-bear is OFF ME
Hi guys,
Just a quick one, we're out for dinner in a little while.
Foods Lara eats:
Rice cereal (apple and mango one only)
yoghurt
pureed fruit
some homemade pureed veg and meat combos
cheesy pops
will suck on toast with cream cheese on it
That is it!!! She is a shocking eater. I don't think that having sore throat after sore throat is helping too much. I'm not stressed she will eventually get there.
We got the new car yesterday...I love it, it's a dream to drive. Eloise isn't too fussed on the colour (black) she prefered the silver one that we looked at and wants us to go and buy that one too
I'll be back on at some stage over the weekend to do some personals. Hope you all have a great weekend. And I forgot to add...
GO THE PIES!!!
Unfortunately I can't go and see them at the 'G, my Auntie is having her 50th party on the same night ... why anyone would schedule anything to happen on weekends in September is beyond me : (says me who had a baby in the week of the AFL Grand Final in 2004 :D )
I should have mentioned, Sare, that all I ate as a child until aged about 7 was:
* weet-bix
*vegemite toast (no crusts)
* grated kraft cheddar
* apple puree
* ice cream
*omelette.
* icing sugar (out of the pantry whilst no-one was looking)
I was taken to the doctor that many times! I am now a fit, healthy 5'10" chicky and will eat ANYTHING!

Ok Ladies, I am named and shamed. When Sal reminded me you were all still here and I should be checking in I meant to and then I didn't quite get there, but now that Jen has also sent me a message I thought. Right, just get in here and send a message to you all right away. I am truly terrible and I apologize everyone. I have missed so much, but I will try and catch up, honestly. I'm one of those people who gets fed up sitting at the pc if I do it too much and these past few months I've been checking messages and that's it. Apologies, apologies, apologies, and more apologies! I've been gone that long there's even new smilies!, but :geek: that's still an owl.
So how are you all ? ( I think you all get the point with my groveling!) I've missed so much that I doubt whether I'll ever catch up, but I'll try.
We're all fantastic here, everything is going well. Logan's sleeping has been shocking for months now, I think his wee teeth are just so sore. He's still not got his top two teeth, but he does have an eye tooth? I've no idea how that happened, but it has and he's crabbit. He's standing and cruising about which is terrible, I don't get minute. Was at a friends house the other day and she left her wee boy lying on the rug and she went back 5 minutes later and he was still lying there, now don't we all remember that?!
The girls have been wee bu*gers and arguing almost non stop - when do they start getting on again ? About 27 is it?! Only another few years of this hormonal hell to go through then!
DH and I are great. He's still getting over all the family ****, I think he's aged about 10 years in the last few months, I've been trying to keep his spirit's up, but what can you do when the damage is done? I'm just traveling through life with a smile on my face in the hope that he'll cheer up!
All in all they've been keeping me busy. We've got a wee garden going out the front now and the patio is ordered so the house is coming along as well.
Erm, oh citizenship interview is booked for a fortnight, so I'll be one of yous soon enough!! Trying to remember my duties and privelages (how do you even spell that?).
Oh, and here's DD2 greeting at me, the peace and quiet didn't last, did it? Apparantly DD1 is a "big buffafoon" whatever that is!! I made a cup of tea half an hour ago and I haven't managed to drink it yet, do you think it will taste good? I'll away and make myself a fresh cup and have a read to see what you've been up to. I hope you're all well and that life has been good to you ...... take care all and I'm a muppet and I apologize again! xx

Hmmmmmm, if I actually used my melon for a change, I would have noticed that there was a Sept thread and that's where everyone was lurking nowdays - DOH! Here I was thinking "Gee its quiet - for the last week!?!?"
Yay for all the newly walking babies - it doesn't take then long once they start those few steps, Bella is off and racing now, and its only been a couple of weeks, kinda scary how quickly they figure it out actually....
Bella is also holding the phone to her ear when I say "hello", she even just puts her hand there sometimes! Too cute! I think she is trying to listen for daddy most of the time, as he is away so much, I let her talk to him in the evenings, although its mostly her giggling at him blowing raspberries through the phone.
Bella is a funny eater/milk drinker. Some days she inhales anything I put in front of her, and sucks me dry am/pm and drinks up to 500mls of formula during the day, then the following day she is off her food and will only snack on boobie and has about 100mls of formula???
I am now only BFing her am/pm and anytime she wakes at night, which has been alot lately, her molars are giving her all sorts of grief and she refuses so sleep though anymore. (So thats 4 top front teeth, 2 bottom front, and 1.5 top molars through now!!!) The rest of her milk comes in the form of formula.
Gee, its after 8pm, and I just remembered I haven't had any dinner yet - DP is away at a Bucks weekend, and I have serious baby-brain so unless I'm reminded to eat I can go for ages without....... opps!
Take care all, will try and be a little more personal next time, but its all just a little bit too hard at the moment sorry! :o

Yup, just a little bit chuffed!! ok, over the friggin moon actually!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
:yelclap: :smiliedance:
Hello all
Nice to hear from you Marion - good luck with becoming an Aussie!!
Well I am tired this morning after a coupe of bad nights. It seems tooth number #9 (her first molar) is nearly through and causing us grief which is not a surprise as every tooth has been a pain. I hope though they (the molars) come quickly and then hopefully we will have a gap before the eye teeth come through.
I have an official starting date in Adelaide of 22nd October (tried to push it out until the 29th so after her birthday but seen they wanted the 1st I did quite well). They still want me to work now - I have said I will only do work from home at the moment and they are looking at giving me 10 hours of that per week - we will see what happens.
We had 8 people at our open yesterday - hopefully one of those is a buyer!
We finally have a rental place which will accept our doggie - it is an older place but will do us for a year while we build.
So it is all happening for us - a bit scary really. I love our house and our friends here and am starting to get a bit of cold feet!!
Well Sare I am sure you are happy about last nights result. I am happy about Friday nights (Port) as well! WCE did look pretty broken down though - I don't think they are going to make it this year although they do get a home final that will be against the pies wont it?
As for the food debate, Kayley is like Bella with a mixture of hungry and not hungry days. She is obviously doing OK though being over 97th percentile for her height and not to shabby on her weight either! I need to get rid of day feeds soon as well and hoping to keep the night ones. Will give her formula during the day if she will drink it!!! I guess now if she drops it (milk) it is not the end of the world given I will still bf morning and night (and that includes an extra feed overnight at this stage - having major trouble trying to drop these). As for favourite foods, Kayley loves bread, cheese, chicken, mums homemade meat and vege mashies, yoghurt, banana, the little fruit salad cop things, biscuits (yoyos, cruskits, and the salty ones too which she should be having), rice cakes, pureed fruits, most jar food, vegemite toast, her oat and apple farex, pasta, actually pretty much everything. Quite often she has to be fed in front of the TV though as she gets grizzly but if she is watching TV she just keeps opening her mouth! She doesn't eat huge portions in one hit though as she throws half of it around. Oh and we tried pizza on Firday nights (little pizza base, tomato paste and pizza cheese) and she loved it!
Well I better run as I have rambled a plenty. Looks like another lovely day here - we have been having GREAT weather - I love it!!
Have a good rest of the weekend all of you!
I've just sent out invitations for Abbey's very first birthday party and now im stressing. Ive never had a party before, I only have 2 kitchen chairs and cant cook, and yet ive invited 15 people for lunch! Eeek!Fortunately over half of those are people i can tell to bu@@er off and order a pizza. The others will just get a surprise and wonder how they ever got by without my fabulous parties
I cant believe she is going to be on year old already. It reminds me how much my life has changed in one short year and how much happier I am.
My busy busy bee surprised me by clapping yesterday, on purpose. :yelclap: And now she is snuggling my bum through the back of the chair. Oh well, its a change from snapping my knicker elastic.
Abbey has turned into a super-wetter lately. A boosted nappy lasts under 2 hours before leaking everywhere. Its those darn sippy cups!
Re bf, we had a couple shocking nights as she cut her 6th tooth, where she wanted boobie all night long, and she's so big she got up, felt around in the dark for it, found it, and lunged in. I had no choice in the matter! She even lifts up my shirt to get to it! I think Im going to have a bit of a problem weaning this one. Normally she has early morning, 10am, 2pm, bedtime and midnight and thats it. Although, thats still a lot of boobie.
Sometimes her incessant pawing and kicking of my face while drinking really gets on my nerves, but i really am too lazy to wean. Bitty anyone?
Beck - im not looking forward to molars. Hope one of those people buy the house, perpetual clean must be really annoying. Thats so funny about feeding her in front of the tv, just so she opens her mouth mindlessly!
Marion - how can other things be more interesting than us?
Abbeys foods are still rather unadventurous and unvaried. She likes:
Banana on toast / plain banana
cornflakes
crumbed fish
all sorts of vegies
baked beans /spaghetti
ravioli
bolognaise & pasta shapes
dried apple
rice cakes
mandarin
all sorts of biscuits
sausages
And various things in cans she gets when mummy's cooking has gone completely @rse up and gets thrown out. Like last night's omelette. Note to self - look up how to make an omelette before throwing stuff in a pile of egg and milk goo and expecting it to look like Huey cooked it. Or set without having to catch fire.
What a glorious day it's been here today! We had a BBQ with my Dad, his partner, my sister and her partner today as a belated Father's Day get together. It was nice to have the boys outside for most of the day. It was even nicer watching the catters absolutely blitz the roos, although in the end, it got a little boring to watch as we were just kicking a@@!!
Yesterday I went off to the Mattel toys club - Beck, didn't see you there...you didn't go? I wasn't too impressed with the toy selection, but still managed to leave there quite a few hundred dollars lighter, lol!
Sare: YAY on getting your new car! And YAY for the Pies!! Mack told me all of his picks for this weekend, and you know what? He got them all right! Gee, I could have won a tipping comp had he have been choosing his winners like this from the start!
Michelle: I so much had a laugh at Abbey helping herself to the boobie! I'm sure the party will go off just fine...Most people like little hotdogs and fairy bread don't they? Perhaps you could just gourmet them up a little?
Beck: YAY on finding a rental property! Must have your mind at ease for a little bit. have you heard anything from any of the inspectors you've had through? WOW on kayley having her 9th tooth show up. Hoping she settles down with it really soon, so your nights get a little better.
Sal: Jarvis has also found a love for kiwi fruit. Shoves it in show quick, you'd think he'd thrown it all onto the floor, when in fact, he's just shoved it in, lol! Do you de seed it or anyhting though? I find his poos after eating it are all seedy....not that it matters I guess, I'm just not sure if they'd cause any tummy upset.
Kimba: YAY on your weight loss! It feels great to get results doesn't it. Unfortunately, the only results I'm getting at the moment, are weight gain, lol! I'm just giving in the chocolate and cheesecake a bit too much lately. You're doing well!!
Marion: Good to hear that all is going well with you. I know what you mean about the kids arguing! DS1 and DS2 are constantly at each other also, and it drives me nuts! Thankfully they go to daycare a couple of days, and get a break from each other.
Kristen:  Hope all is going well. Sounds like it is!
Well, some exciting news here. Jarvis is starting to walk around the furniture, and is taking steps with his push along walker :yelclap: He's doing such a great job with it too. I'm not yet erady for him to walk by hjimself, but I guess I have no say in that.
Re: Foods
Jarvis is eating everything that we eat now. He loves any sort of pasta and also loves fruit (apple, banana, pear, kiwi fruit, etc) and yoghurt. He doesn't refuse anything yet, thankfully.
I'm off to spend some time with Mack now. The younger boys have been in bed since 5.45pm, and I've finally got the place sorted. Hope you have all had a great weekend.
Sarah

MORNING LADIES!!!
Wow its been ages since I posted, I have forgotten what I last updated everyone on.
Last saturday Darcy finally cut her top tooth only problem is now she thinks its a great game to GRIND it on the bottom ones.. ..........Its even funnier when mummy's face contorts at the sound of it...so lets do it again!!!!!!.......Hope its just a new feeling or something and it loses its appeal.

Well I best go before I bore everyone with my boring life. :fingerscrossed: this blocked nose doesnt turn into a full blown cold. I hate working when sick. My mum is flying back home on thurs so I am pulling a sickie on fri..already have that day planned...lol
Hugs to all .............xxxooo
Morning All
Well Kayley was such an upset little thing yesterday arvo. We got her down for an arvo sleep (which she is avoiding as much as possible lately she seems to think she is ready for just one sleep but I am not so sure) and she just lasted 40 mins before waking up in a screaming mess. So I dosed her up on Braurs teething (every 30 mins) and she turned into a completely different child. Went to bed with little fuss at night. She was still up at 12.30am and 5.30 am for a feed but slept in until 8.25 which was LOVELY! I think I am going to keep her dosed up all day - is that a bad thing????
I haven't tried Kiwifruit with Kayley - probably just one of those things I don't really like so don't think of - will try it soon.
Kayley had DH's pasta spag bog yesterday and she wasn't overly impressed - still ate a bit and had a red face from one ear to the other!
Well it does look like another wonderful day here today. Lets hope our Monday update from the real estate agent is good news!
Sarah - I didn't end up going because DH wanted me to stay home with our open on - he didn't want to be left babysitting the dog and Kayley!
Mary-Anne - Glad you enjoyed the ball and hope you don't get too sick so you can enjoy your sicky too!
Michelle - Kayley has that much boobie if not more as well (although she was a 9 times a day feeder still at 8 months so I think we have done well cutting her down. Little does she know that she will be losing her daytime boobie feeds very soon so I can start preparing for work - she will have to get to like formula! So plans are she will still get her 5amish boob, then bottle at around 10am, again at around 2.30 then boob again after her bath and probably still one at around midnight. Seems like we are on a pretty close schedule but at the moment Kayley often gets a little bottle around 5pm as well as she is a piglet!
Well my mum is on holidays in Perth at the moment - so jealous as I love it over there!
I better go.
Have a good day everyone!
Hi girls,
Hope you all had a levely weekend...they seem to go so fast!
Beck - Gotta love the Brauers teething relief. I've been wondering the same thing too about giving it all day. I tend to only give it at night in the hope that she will sleep better, but you would think that it would be more effective if you gave it throughout the day.
Mary-anne - Good to hear from you again. Glad you enjoyed the ball. Hope you feel better soon.
Sarah - Sounds like a pretty successful trip to Mattel. When I went I found that the boys selection of toys were pretty cr@ppy, but they seemed to have heaps of stuff for girls. Did you know that there is a Mattel store down Smith St in Collingwood? We're heading there on Wednesday to have a look and see what they have ... not that my girls need any more toys :p
Good win to Geelong yesterday, you'd think that they won't be beaten again with the way that they are playing, but I'm hoping that they can (and that it's by the Pies in the prelim...gotta get past West Coast first) Well done to Mack on his tips.
Michelle - LOL about Abbey and her late night night snacking. Lara is having about 4 feeds a day too, I'm ready to cut down to 3, but the little monkey doesn't want to yet. I'm sure that the party will be great.
Kristin - Sounds like you guys are going well. How far along are you now? Are you going to find out what you are having?
Marion - Great to hear from you again. Sounds like all is going well with you guys. I had a laugh at your dds fighting, just like me and my sis. I'm guessing I won't be laughing in a few years when it's my girls going tooth and nail
No real news here... the girls are well, just dh and I have head colds, but nothing too bad. We're off to a a3rd birthday party today. I better get busy and start organising Eloise's, which is only a couple of weeks away. Gee babies grow up way too fast.
The weather down here has been lovely for the last few days. I love spring and I think that the girls are loving it too, now that they are getting to spend a little more time outside. Lara's really hesitant on the grass, it's so funny to watch when she goes to crawl, and feels the prickly grass under her hand so lifts it up and down over and over.
Better go and put Lara down for her morning nap and get Eloise ready for this party. Have a great day girls...
Hey all
Just a quickie from me as we are off to a baby shower and I need to pack half the pantry to keep my garbage disposal happy.
On the food note, we eat
everything and
anything
and that is no exaggeration!!!!!!!!
But I'm not complaining it makes life so easy.
anyway, be back later for a longer post.
:hugs: and Valentine to all.
PS: We have tooth number 4 through so we are even now - 2 on the top and 2 on the bottom

Hi Everyone,
Kimba - Congrats on Jet walking, thats is great news! Its scary how a few steps suddenly turns into a lot more steps and then there is no stopping them.
Georgia - Congrats on the results with your awards.
Rian - Congrats on the wedding. Hope it was fantastic. Do you have any photos for us?
Michelle - Thats great news that Abby is clapping and walking! LOL on racing them. I love your posts, they are so funny!
Sarah - I hope you get your BFP you are after very soon :fingerscrossed:
Argh, will be back for more personals later, Kids
Before I go, just wanted to say..... A BIG happybirthday to the first "October" bub, Jack (lil pumpkin).... hope he is having a fantastic day
It is Jacob's 1st birthday on Saturday, cant believe how quick that has gone. Im soo excited. I can't wait to give him all of his presents.
Talk to you all soon
Hi guys,
Weaning is going much better - Ella has been taking a bottle of cow's milk at bedtime since last Thursday so she's only having one booby at about 3am now. I had a meeting last Thursday so DP gave her a bottle instead of her sippy cup that I tried - no worries at all! Guess she just wanted the comfort of sucking. She still has her morning milk out of her sippy cup and water during the day, so I'm not too worried about her being addicted to a bottle.
BTW, has anyone else's baby totally discovered TANTRUMS?? She has been turning it on lately whenever you do something contrary to her wishes. We had a ripper yesterday, DP tried to get her to sleep. Well she screamed for so long she forgot what she was mad about, and just sat there doing screechy sobs until Mummy picked her up & sang to her for half an hour!
Christy - I know, can't believe our babies are nearly a year old! I've been getting very peculiar feelings when I think about this time last year. I sent Ella's birthday invites out on Friday - a morning tea the day before for Mum's group, then the big family/friends party on her actual birthday. I have ordered one of those cloth tunnel things for her from us - I reckon she'll love it!
Sare - I was thinking of you when I saw the AFL results, thought you'd be happy! Ella is also not keen on crawling on grass or concrete. Boy she likes to eat the grass though... gotta watch her like a hawk!
Beck, Ella was a 9 feeds a day girl till I actively started cutting her back. These booby lovers! I'm selling socks & slices for my local ABA group at the moment & feel like a bit of a fraud as I'm weaning her... silly! re brauers - it's not like it's real medicine :D
Mary-ann, Ella was always grinding her teeth when she got the top ones, it was awful but I think it was Sare said it's a phase? anyway she grew out of it thankfully!
Sarah, yay on Jarvis walking! Ella likes to poke her walker (she thinks it's interesting) but won't take steps without us holding her.. she just sits down.
Michelle I'm hearing you with the super wetter - and stinky too! Delightful. I may actually have to upgrade from my cheapo nappy covers as they aren't doing the job anymore...
Better go home & see my darling girl (& DP too I spose :p ) yay!

OMG.... 2 posts in 1 day.. That would have to be record for me.
Beck - Hope the real estate gives you some great news. What a pain in the bum having to have the house clean all the time...
Sare - Hope you had a terrific day at the 3rd birthday partyy!!.. Bet the girls had a blast. Had to giggle at Lara and the prickly grass:laughing:
Di - we have a anything and everything eater in this house as well.... ( must get that from the mother:rolleyes: )....Hope you had a lovely baby shower.
Christy - happybirthday to Jacob for Saturday... Dont know if I will be getting on before then. Wow hasnt time just flown!!
Bec - We have kinda tantrums.... ours are more total frustration angry yelling fits.... Not so much crying ...just yelling. Cant believe Ella will be 1 soon as well. Our bubbas are becoming toddlers.
Had a nice day today... Made Darc some food for the next week and some fruit. Went and dropped DP's car off to the mechanics. Then went shopping and scored myself a new handbag and a toy for Darc. I know fisher price are good but geez toys are expensive arent they. Then I had a mum's group mum come over for a few hours in the arvo for a coffee and the babies played.
Cant believe I have had 2 days off already and it s back to work tomorrow at 3am.
So best be off to organise my life for the next week and give my little princess a bath then off to Oma's for the night.
Kisses to all bubbas....xxx
Hi all,
We spent the weekend visiting my family and got back last night. It was a lovely weekend but poor Jet seems to be cutting more teeth and was pretty miserable. On top of that he's somehow picked up conjunctivitis while we were there :hair:; and his cold (which he was pretty much over) is back with a venegeance. So he's all snot and cough at the moment with gunky eyes, sore teeth, and drooling like a tap, I feel so sorry for him! Doc has prescribed him ventolin syrup to see if that gives his cough a bit of relief at night.
On a positive note he is well and truly off with his walking, he was walking across the waiting room at the docs today and cheering himself on the whole time. He's up to about 20 steps now. He also finally started waving byebye, and has been copying the funniest things, like he has this little plastic toy rake and we were using it to 'comb' his hair and our hair, so now he keeps trying to do it himself. He's also loving his toothbrush now which is great because he actually enjoys me brushing his teeth.
Too many posts from the last few days to try and catch up on all the personals but I will reply to some of the questions!
Fave Foods - Jet is a bit hit and miss with food. Sometimes he eats really well, and other times turns his nose up  At the moment he HATES vegie burger, carrot, and avocado! but generally likes toast with Promite, cheesticks, yoghurt (any, even plain), biscuits, sourdough bread, baby muesli, porridge, weetbix, baked beans, fruit (esp pear and banana), potato, pumpkin, corn, broccoli and cauli florets, macaroni with beef or chicken and vegies, risoni with chicken and vegies, bolognese, Heinz little kids apricot bars, beef rissoles, sausages, and anything from jars or cans. I made some thai chicken patties today and he liked them too
Tantrums - he'll burst into tears and wail if you take something away, or take him away from something he likes, or stop him doing something. But it usually isn't that bad and calms down as soon as we distract him with something else.
happybirthday to Jacob and any other bubs who are celebrating their first this week. I can't believe how fast this year has gone. We are definitely TTC number 2 next year.
hi, havent felt much like writing. am not very sociable atm. seems my trip away was a waste of time to sleep clinic. to avoid re typing everything you can read my thread in the serious health issues "sleep apnea". read my second post it may explain it better. btw HDU is high dependency unit, similar to intensive care.
thanks will try get on here later to catch up
btw i did remember one thing. good luckl next year with ttc2 kimba, and congrats to di who has reached the 12 week mark for little blasty
Do you ever have mornings when you wake up and can't find your baby? Abbey runs me down to the point where when I chuck her out of bed to play at 5am and fall into such a deep sleep that when i wake up i have no idea where she is. Of course, since the bedroom door is shut, she's in there somewhere, but i do get a fright. (She's usually under the bed eating a tissue or in the cupboard or in her omo tent). Then i get out of bed and survey the damage, wondering where this and that came from. I'm just much more used to waking up with her face an inch from mine, grinning evilly.
But last night was different. I think when i went shopping yesterday i must have brought home someone else's baby. Abbey slept from 8-2.45am - without a single resettle! That is a world abbey record! :yelclap: Then she came into bed with me for a drink and slept until 7am. I'm so rested I dont know what to do. I could clean, but that's a cr@p plan.
I discovered the only way to get Abbey to clap was to sing 'happy birthday'. She claps even if she is holding something, but wont clap to copy me, or if i sing another song. So far I can only get to her clap to happy birthday or bushfires on the news. My singing pyro!
Kimba - thats awesome on the 20 steps! Abbey came home from showing off for the kids and only walks a few steps now, just too busy to get places slowly.
Tantrums - we dont have them here. We have devil baby sessions.:devil6: Especially at nappy change time, but also when i wont help her do something i dont want to her to do, like grab the remote to smash against the brickwork. Aren't we all totally looking forward to real toddlerhood when they have tantrums and actually mean it?
I'm so mean about her tantrums, here she is trying to communicate her anger and mummy just laughs or throws a blanket over her head.
Sue - all that waiting for the sleep clinic and no improvement? I had a quick read of the apnea thread you posted but I'm afraid a lot of it went over my head. So here is an ignorant but well meaning hug :hugs:
doh, monkey laid some monkey eggs
Morning All
Well we had a crappy night last night. Kayley's teeth are really bothering her. She slept until 1.45 which was great and I got her up and she refused boobie so I put her back down - resettled her and she slept for about 20 mins then was up and SCREAMING the house down. I ended up in the spare room with her but still took almost 2 hours to settle down and go to sleep. No interest in boobie - didn't want anything near her mouth. Did manage to force some Brauers and Dymadon down her throat though (I don't think this helped with the crying). Anyway she slept until 7.40 from there and was happy as Larry this morning. Oh and I had very full sore boobs. So I am thinking maybe I should persist and try not to give her the middle of the night feed where it seems she can survive without it - I think it is just comfort now? Anyway - all I can say is hurry up and pop through molars as I don't want too many nights like this.
Mary-Anne - teeth grinding used to drive me bonkers but Kayley stopped it after a little while so I hope it is just a phase for you too.
Sue - hugs for you - I will have to go and read your story - I hope things are not too bad. My CC with Kayley has gone backwards too. She just keeps crying until I come back in the room now - I don't need to pick her up but I do need to stay there until she is either asleep or very very calm and close to sleep.
Michelle - I don't often have a missing baby as she is usually a bit clingy - mind you if the cat is inside she often chases him. She did it yesterday while I was cleaning up in the kitchen then there were tears and she has a scratch on her forehead and one on her head. I kciked the cat out but the way she molests him it was probably a very long time coming!
Kimba - ya on the walking but boohoo on the sickness - I hope he gets better soon! I have heard that teething can cause conjunctivitis as well as colds so it is probably not that surprising. Kayley hasn't had it since she was born (day 1 I had to clean out her poor little eyes - touch wood).
Bec - yay on the weaning - I haven't started cows milk yet but I think Kayley is about a month younger? I am still considering toddler formula but not so sure which way to go.
Actually I have a question - does anyone know when ham can be introduced? I know you should avoid uncooked meats such as salami and cabana etc but I am not sure if ham is OK?
Oh and Tantrums - Kayley is a tantrum thrower from like forever!! My mum could not beleive someone so young could throw a tantrum when she was here. She also has the ability to create a perpetual whinge - one that just seems to go all day.....hmmmmm I know Kayley is hard work and I am sure it is not going to get any less so until she is probably 20 - I have a stong miunded little miss - I hope she uses it for good rather than evil!
Well I better go. My little girl has been sitting and l=playing by herself withough complaining for a bit and that will only last so long.
Have a good day everyone.

I have a ds - Tobias born 26/10/06. He is 80cm tall and weighs 11.4kg. He has 8 teeth. He can crawl at lighting fast speeds, cruise and stand for a few seconds by himself and then lowers himself down to the ground without holding onto anything.

 Hi all.
Been a total slacker again with posting! Work has been super busy, and we went away for the weekend. Just DH and I down to melb for a "dirty" weekend for his birthday- not that particularly dirty, just nice to have a sleep in and watch a few movies uninterrupted!
Nedd is fantastic- we actually rushed home sun to collect him as we were just missing him too much! SPecially DH- he is rather chuffed as these days Nedd is just "dada" this and "dada" that, it is very cute.
He has had a couple of unsettled nights- but every time I go to him he is uncovered so I think he may be just getting cold. I am going to get a grobag tomorrow to see if that helps.
He is still trying to balance without holding on, getting longer and longer all the time....and he is getting bolder with moving between spaces too. I am sure it won't be long before he is taking tentative steps.
Nedd is copying everything we do or say at the moment, it is so much fun! If we say a noise he will mimic it, same goes for actions....feels like he is picking up a new trick every day!
As for tantrums- Nedd has a wonderful display of trying to take off like a bird with his wildly flapping arms- whenever he gets frustrated or excited. But thats about the most we get. He rarely ever really loses it. Just a few squawks here and there. Occasionally we get a doozy- but they are few and far between.
And being outside- well nedd just thinks it is the ants pants. He goes straight to the sliding glass doors when we get home in the arvo- his fave spot is standing next to our garden boxes eating the bark chips. Or chasing the dog.
OK personals!
Beck- Poor Kayley, she just doesn't seem to gat a break from these teeth does she? She is such a strongwilled little muppet- I think she will be very very successful and bright when she gets older- you just wait and see!
Michelle- Yay, go Abbey on the sleep. Pity it most likely won't last (fingers crossed though!) I jsut ordered a nappy from your site- very excited!!!
Sue- Hugs, hope everything works out. I am off to read thread after here.
Kimba- Jet sick again, poor man. He is such a trooper, bet he melted some hearts at the doctors!
Maryanne- your day yesterday sounds lovely. Its nice to make the aboslute most of your days with Darc. Have a nice weekend with her!
Bec- where did you order your cloth tunnel from. I want to get one for Nedd
Christy- Lovely to hear from you. Its so nice for you to pop in, I love to get the updates on Jacob. Isn't it scary how this year has flown!
Sare- Well I hate to say it but I actually secretly am hoping the pies win...its a close call between geelong (cause they really do deserve it) and pies (cause i quietly have a bit of a soft spot for them!).
Sarah- I was meant to go to the Mattel sale to but STUPID me threw out my ticket, hopefully I will get to another one!
Marion- Nice to hear from you lovey- now don't be a stranger anymore, we missed you!!! And yay on the citz, do you have to do some stupid test or something?
Kristin- Isabella talking on the phone- way too cute, thats one thind Nedd hasn't the hang of yet, when his Nan tries to talk, all he wants to do is eat it!!
OK, this is a mega post and a half- so I will leave it there.
Take care all!!!

Morning all.
Well I am a happily rested chickie here- Nedd slept 12hrs straight, without hearing a peep! :smiliedance:
I think that is a first for us- even thought we've been having nights where we don't need to get up, he usually still wakes and resettles himself a few times.
After my thoughts on him getting cold I put him back into one of his winter lined growsuits last night, so I definitely think this did the trick- off today to buy a grobag me thinks!
Q- In what order is everyone giving bottle/boob or breakkie in the morning?
I know by now it is reccomended to be giving breakie first- but I just cant bring myself to deny Nedd his yummy first bottle of the day taht he loves so much....what is everyone's thoughts? And is it reccomended in preperation for dropping milk altogether?
I am picking up a new car today! :smiliedance: My old company car got given to the rep who took over my old role and I have been driving a hire car, I am getting a brand spanking new silver holden berlina, I am SOOOOO excited! (Yes one of the many perks of being a sales rep who spends long days away from her boy- I will take whatever I can get to make it worthwhile!)
Hi guys,
Bit early for me this morning... that would be because I hardly got any sleep last night. Lara was shocking. I ended up pulling her into bed with us at 2.30am after she had already woken 3 times. She was so restless last and stirred all night. So that, along with a shocking sinus related headache = hardly any sleep. Oh and Eloise decided to hop into our bed too after she had been coughing on and off for a few hours. So we were like a tin of sardines all squashed in. DH is home sick today, so I may actually get to have a nanna nap today.
I took Lara to the Chiro yesterday. He found 2 misalignments, both of them what he calls sleep bones, one in her neck and 1 in her shoulder. So he made the adjustments and we go back next week for another visit. I might have to ask him to put them back how they were if we have more nights like last night  . He said it looks like she is slightly iron deficient too, so recommended an iron supplement. He also made a few recommendations about changing our routines, hence the early post. No more b/f at 6am, nap and then brekky at 8am. Now it's up at 6-6.30am for brekky and b/f after. I'm thinking that this might be a good time to drop her down to 3 breastfeeds.
BBL. Eloise has just woken up and I need to organise her breakfast.
Ok...I'm back, she only wanted toast.
Ok some personals...
Sal - Great news about the new car. You've got to have some benefits for all that travelling that you have to do for work. Fantastic news on the 12 hrs sleep too (although I'm hugely envious).
 Baby Blue Eyes...welcome to our little chatty group.
Beck - Sorry to hear that Kayley is still having a rough time with her teeth. I hear you on the cat chasing. I'm guessing it won't be long before Mac gets Lara and he too will be thrown outside.
Michelle - about the missing baby. Sometimes I wish I could go missing for just 10 minutes. A bit of peace and quiet is just what I need at the moment. Wonderful news about Abbey's sleep.... did she do it again last night?
Sue - :hugs: I will go over and read your other thread in a moment.
Kimba - Poor Jet, sick again. You must be like me and well and truly over sick kids. Wow on how fast Jet has progressed with his walking. You must be super busy now keeping up with him.
Mary-anne- Sounds like you had a lovely couple of days off. Hope you enjoy your sickie on Friday.
Bec - Sounds like you are well and truly on the road to weaning Ella. Do you dilute Ella's milk? I've been giving Lara milk on her cereal for a few weeks and yesterday gave her some watered down in a sippy cup and she just devoured it  I remembered with Eloise, my MCHN said it was ok to give milk as long as it was not replacing other feeds at this age (Lara has only just turned 10 months).
Di - Wow Adam has got those teeth quickly. Hope you had a lovely time at the baby shower.
Christy - happybirthday to Jacob for Saturday. Hope you all have a lovely day. What have you got planned for his birthday?
Oh...we sold my old car last night :smiliedance: Not bad considering that we didn't advertise it.
Hope you all have a great day...
Morning All
Well Kayley is making up for the night before. She is actually still in bed which is very rare!
She was a mess yesterday morning after swimming needing to be help and walked around. Then she had a decent sleep and was OK in the arvo. Went down at 8.10. Woke up at 12.30 and I resettled her (no feed), woke at 3.20 and I resettled her. Then she was awake from about 3.50 - 4.20 - not really crying just grizzling. When I went in she was on her knees looking straight at me coming through the door. So I fed her then - put her back down awake and she has been asleep since - wow!
Sare - sorry about the bad sleep - hopefully it is just getting worse before it gets better. I have been thinking about taking Kayley to the chiro (was actually going to take her but I went instead and they are still trying to fix my messed up back)!
Milk - I have no idea what to do there still - should I be giving her milk on her cereal and should it be diluted??? I might have to call the MHCN to get a bit of an idea.
Sal - sounds like yo uare having a great time - yay! I think DH is starting to enjoy Kayley a lot more now she is more interactive. I can't wait until she starts walking etc I think he is going to love that. I think with the baby stage I make him a bit nervous as he is worried of doing the wrong thing and I can get a bit snappy now and then!
Baby Blue Eyes - welcome to our chatty group. Tobias and Kayley are twins!! Kayley has 8 teeth too and has felt every one of them. SHe is a little smaller - last measured at 77.5cm and 10.5kg.
Christy - wow happybirthday to Jacob on Saturday - I can't believe we are getting to that time already! As we are moving we are just ahving a small do for Kayleys birthday with family but still should be fun.
Well I am gong to run. Have a good day everyone.
Another excellent nights sleep - 8pm-2.45am, into bed with mummy for a drink and sleep until 6am. So happy with that! Will she do it tonight and make it an official habit? I wonder...
Her bedroom shares a wall with the loo so i usually dont go while she is sleeping, but last night i did and she shrugged it off and went back to sleep. I'm so proud of my big grown up girl.
Um, for those who had a cr@p night like Sare and Sue, I'm not gloating and I feel for you, and we all know I will be in the waking boat again soon enough!
Re cows milk - she gets fat milk on her cereal, nice and soggy. I don't dilute for eating, but I havent tried it for drinking yet. I have enough trouble remembering to buy fresh skim milk for my coffee, let alone fresh fat milk for drinking! My mum comes over and complains that you cant make good coffee with skinny milk, and that its usually either turned or about to. What does she think i am, a responsible parent???
Abbey has really stepped up the walking efforts, literally. It probably helped that i picked up all the toys she kept tripping over, but der, she put them there! Last night i watched her walk about two metres in a slow zigzaggy line, it was adorable.
Has anyone discovered pre-walker shoes as a fashion statement yet? Abbey is getting some cheekylittlesoles shoes for her birthday. Wish they came in my size.
Sare - my old ped chiro always said bubbas had to work it out of their system before the results would show, and warned the day after an adjustment would usually be sucky. The 'clearing' shows as ratty behaviour and mucuous, but then I stopped seeing her months ago when she started behaving like a quack and dragging out the treatment to gouge my pocket.
Sometimes i think I should dangle Abbey upside down and jiggle her bones back into place. Save time and money. Plus she likes it.
Sal - 12 hours! OMG. I would be poking Abbey just to check she was okay! I hear you on the grobags, abbey really loves hers. Its a good sleep association for her, only used at night. She sleeps in singlet and flannel jammies and a 1.0. Its getting warmer so i will have to get a 0.5, just so she can keep the sleep association. In the morning I just pop her shoulder snaps and she wriggles out when she is ready. Like a wet, stinky butterfly.
Boob/breakkie order - Abs gets boob at 6, breaky by 8. I figure she must be thirsty after sleep, I know i always am.
ok, mammoth post and your attention is drifting. I'll pop back later for some more personals.
Hi all
Conjunctivitis is all gone, those drops worked a treat even though they were almost impossible to get into his eyes! Bit of a restless night last night though. Can't win them all...
Re: prewalker shoes, I'm loving Dunlop volleys for Jet, they're so cute and seem more comfy than most, and easier for him to walk in. He has 2 pairs (black and white). He has some little handmade leather moccasins too (from the markets) which are great but getting too small now...that said, I only ever put shoes on him when we're going out somewhere and I want to dress him up, the rest of the time he's in socks or barefoot. He likes to pull his shoes and socks off and eat them anyway.
Re: cows milk. I put it on Jet's cereal but he's still drinking formula at other times. I'll start switching him to plain milk when these cans of formula run out (I bought up when they were on sale!)
Re: milk vs brekkie. I usually give Jet a bottle when I get us up (around 6.45) because he doesn't get his brekkie till about 8, after I drop him at daycare. Sometimes he's awake at 5.30, in which case a bottle sends him back to sleep till 7, which is great.
Michelle - nice one on the sleep! Hopefully Abbey isn't like Jet where she'll do it 3 times then change again.
Beck - I agree with Sal, I bet Kayley is one strong and successful woman one day!
Sare - yep definitely over sickness! hopefully this is the last of it for a while. Well done on selling your car! And sorry but I'm going for Geelong - revenge for the blimmin' Pies beating Sydney
Sal - don't you love those 12 hour sleeps! Jet did it 2 nights ago when I gave him Ventolin syrup for the first time. Was hoping he'd repeat it last night but no luck. Nedd sounds like he's being utterly adorable right now. Isn't it cute when they copy everything! When we make a new sound that Jet can't make, he'll go through his repertoire until he finds something that's close enough. Or else he flaps arms and gets cranky!
baby Blue eyes - welcome! Tobias sounds like he's getting ready to take his first steps - watch out! hahaha
Sue - poor Kane and poor you with the sleep apnea. I hope that you're able to work things out soon.
 all,
We've been flat out these last couple of days!
Jarvis is being a little monster today. He's only slept for around 20 mins all up. I've got him in bed now, but all he's doing is playing with his aquarium :hair:
It looks like he's cutting another couple of teeth... time will tell though. He's behaviour has still been ok, so perhaps he's just not in the mood to sleep. I know am though, lol!
Re: Cows milk - Jarvis has been having cows milk on his cereal since about 9 months old. I haven't yet offered it to him as a drink. Perhaps I'll try a little diluted with breakfast in the morning.
Re: Milk V Breakfast - It really depends on what time little J wakes up. If it's around 5.00am, I'll breastfeed him, then when he wakes later I give him breakfast. But, if he wakes later, say 7.00 - 8.00am, I'll give him breakfast, and he will then wait till bedtime before more booby.
Re: Prewalkers - Honestly, I think they are cute and all, but I'm one of those mums that won't put shoes on them until they've been walking a good 5 - 6 months - or like with DS2, until the ground gets so hot in summer that it burns their feet, lol!
I have to get this laughing baby to sleep, bbl
Hello one and all
Glad to hear everyone is doing well...
I Can't believe we have BIRTHDAYS already!!!!!
Geez it wasn't that long ago we were all trying to work out who would go first lol....time flies
Well I was a bad mummy today. My poor little man is sick with a snotty nose and watery eyes. We had a beautiful sleep from 11.30-2 this afternoon. I woke up and he was asleep on the bed next to me. I was busting (as pregnant women are) and raced into the ensuite. Only to hear a dull thump ......he must have woken and tried to go off the bed feet first and isn't quite tall enough to touch the floor.
The result - one tooth into our top lip, lots of tears from both bub and mum and no toilet stop. :crying:
Lucky for me he spent the rest of the arvo covering my face in sloppy/snotty kisses. I guess I'm forgiven. Valentine
Penance for mum has already been paid by having 3 days of m/s :barf: that has never been suffered before.
Anyway chickens I am off to bed.
Have a lovely night
hugs & Kisses to all

Hey all.
We had our first swimming lesson tonight! It was so cute, I went as mascot, and DH took Nedd in the pool. Five dads and bubs in there together, it was lovely to watch. Nedd had a ball- totally loved every minute, couldnt get the grin off his face and talk about splash- we thought he could make a splash in the bath, well it is even bigger in the pool!
Only downfall is that it is at 6.30- and Nedd is usually in bed by 7, so by the time we got home and bottle and bed he has over tired thus didn't settle well, hopefully he will be fine tonight though!
Di- Poor Adam, when i am home i often have day sleeps with Nedd, or sleep in the spare bed with him, and it so often happens that i need to get up for some reason- I am paranoid that it is going to happen here too sooner or later!
Michelle- :smiliedance: Way to go Abbey!! What a trooper is she, "go abbey go" if we cheer her on do you think she will keep it up!
Sarah- poor you, hope Jarvis makes up for it by sleeping super well tonight!
Kimba- glad to hear Jet is getting better....now for some sickness free time for you and jet!
Beck- nice work on Kayleys sleep in last night
and Sare- fingers crossed for a better night for you.
Ok well i am off to bed, reading a good book at the moment.
Sending good sleep vibes to all! :)
Hey All
Just a quick one from me. Kayley was up and unsettled at 1am this morning. I ended up in the spare room with her where she slept until 5.45. I gave her a feed and put her back down in her cot and she is still asleep - hopefully this is getting to be a habit. She seems to be going fine without her midnight feed as the unsettledness I think is due to her teeth rather than missing out on her boob. She had huge red sheeks at bedtime so I was expecting it!
Well we are going out with mothers group tonight for tea as a farewell for me - yay! I booked in the moving truck yesterday which got rid of a spare $3.3K........I also paid for new contents insurance - this moving thing is getting expensive!
All set to start work from home next week in the middle of packing which should be interesting. Going into work for lunch with my old team tomorrow.
Milk vs Brekkie - Kayley gets milk first and will probably stay that way for a while given she will also end up with a later breakfast when she is in childcare. But at the moment she is having this early morning and back to bed. It has only been the last few days where she has been down to 4 feeds a day! So once my boobs are used to that she will be having formula mid-morning and arvo then boob mornign and night. I am going to wait until that has settled in before trying cows milk.
Prewalkers - now I could be wrong but these are the shoes with soft bottoms?? I bought a couple of pairs of sandals from Target the other day when the sale was on mainly for when she is walking and it is summer. I occassionally pop some shoes on now if we go out at night but she is usually socks or bare feet at the moment.
Sal - swimming is great isn't it! Kayley loves it to and so do I!!
Kimba - yay on Jet getting better.
Di - poor Adam - I am scared that is going to happen sometime with Kayley too - especially if I sleep in the spare room with her when she is sick or really unsettled - I don't think I sleep too well when this happens though and usually wake up when she moves. I am waiting for her to throw herself off the couch sometime soon though!
Sarah - I hope Jarvis had a good nights sleep and if it is teeth they hurry up and pop through - I hate teeth!
Well I better run as I need to keep getting things organised and I think Kayley might be waking up.
have a good day everyone.
I almost missed the train today because I was running a bit late this morning coz Jet did the biggest stinkiest most nappy-escaping poo ever. It was right up his back, all over his pyjamas... :barf: I was thinking thank god I'm not pg, I couldn't handle this with MS!
Jet is drooling like a tap, his clothes were saturated yesterday and his carer had to change them, all from dribble. Can't see any new teeth poking through yet but they can't be far.
Yesterday afternoon when I got home I was treated to an onslaught of sloppy open mouth baby kisses all over my face. I was dripping afterwards LOL. It's slightly better than when he used to come at my face like a shark and bite me though :D
Beck - yikes moving interstate is expensive isn't it!
Sal - yay on Nedd loving swimming lessons! I'm taking Jet as soon as the new term starts up. Dreading the possible ear infections and bugs he'll catch from our grotty local pool though
Di - poor Adam, that's my greatest fear (teeth through the lip) I hope he's all recovered now. Hope your MS abates soon too!
Sarah - hope Jarvis settles down today. It does my head in when Jet doesn't nap all day, because he gets more manic the more tired he gets and I get so frazzled!
Hope that everyone has a good day today and that all our soon-to-be 1-year-olds are behaving themselves!
By the way is anyone interested in doing a Kris Kringle/ Secret Santa this Christmas? You'd think I would've been put off after Jet not receiving his SS gift last year, but I'm willing to give it another go :D
Me again - thought I would let you all know that ************* has 2 pairs of Gap pants for $9.95  , if anyone is interested. Selling out fast though!
ETA hope this doesn't break any rules just letting all my friends know ;)

Mornin everybody
Well as predicted I am very very sick today;) ( cough cough splutter splutter ) How great to have a break in between 6 days at work.
Kimba - I cant believe Jet is walking already. How great, but at the same time :hair: ....Thanks for the COTD info. Glad to hear eyes are better. I am definitly in for a Secret santa this year....
Sue - sorry to hear the sleep clinic didnt work. I will read your thread now.
Michelle - Great work on Abbeys sleep. Hope its been the same since you posted last. Maybe its the new skill of walking that is wearing her out!!!
Beck - re milk.. I give it to Darc on her cereal but not as a drink. I was also wondering if we should water it down when we start it as a drink??... See I told you you shouldnt move interstate... it just costs too much money:rolleyes:
Baby blue eyes...Welcome:wave:
Sal - Nedd sounds like he is getting very confident in the standing stakes. Sounds like he was thrilled about his swimming lesson.
Sare - How great in selling your car so fast. Hope the chiro work on Lara helps to improve her sleep. Did you get your nanna nap the other day when DH was home sick?
Sarah - Wow little Jarvis doesnt waste any time getting his teeth now does he. From none to heaps in a month or so... When is DH back next??
Di - Poor little spunky Adam. Its happened in this household as well once and its awful but I think its more awful for us then it is for them. She cried for a bit then was easily distracted by the dog. Then she was giggling whilst mummy's heart was pounding in her chest.
Ok so news on our home front.
We now have 4 toothy pegs. The top 2 have shown thensleves after 3 months of just the bottom ones. Once again I had no idea she wass cutting them, just i spotted 2 little whits thingys in her mouth whilst changing her. I swear my next baby will be a no sleeping, horrid teething, fussy eating, constant crying baby....
So seeing as though i am soooooooooooooo sick today ( hehe )......DP and I are going to look at an acre block of land for sale around the corner from us, then I am heading out to lunch with my mothers group mummies.
My mum has flown back home for a week to visit the family so that will be a nice break for her.
My work situation is getting hard. We are getting a new roster in 2 weeks and in features most months with 7 days in a row. I am totally struggling with 6 days ATM so god knows how I will cope then. Its all very depressing .
Well i was going to go into more detail about whats been happening but my little sweetie has just found me and has brought a god awful smeill into the room. So I best go change and give her brekkie.
Kisses to bubs and hugs to mummies and all admirations to preggers mummies!!!!!!xxxxxx
Gosh what a terrible mother I am, Jet was 11 months yesterday and I forgot. Yikes! hahaha. I also haven't taken any photos of him for weeks, even though he's been doing all these amazing new things. I don't have any of him walking yet! how bad is that. I've just been having too much fun playing with him to get the camera out, and then when I do, the damn batteries are flat every time I go to use it. That's my excuse anyway.
Jet slept through 12 hours last night, little angel. I wish I had! DH made a racket when he got up at 2.30 and totally woke me up :banghead:
DH got in trouble at work today for having too many sick days (I warned him!) so he's on probation and not allowed to do any overtime for 3 months  Great timing since we are trying to save for our trip to Indonesia in March .
The thing that really sh1ts me is that he never takes days off to stay with Jet when Jet's sick - I'm the one who always does it and has to use all MY sick leave - DH just takes sickies for himself because 'he's tired and doesn't feel like working', and he still sends Jet to daycare on those days. GRRRRR!!!! I can't remember the last time I had a day to myself, and even if I have a day off work I would still much rather spend it with Jet.
Anyway rant over.
Maryanne - that sucks about work I hope that you're able to work something out that you're happy with. Nice one on Darcy's new teeth! She sounds like such an easy baby, on top of being so cute!
hope everyone else is having a good day...
Hi All
Just a very quick post update from me. Went out last night with my mothers group for my going away - it was lovely! I got pressies, balloons, a lei and an angel cake - was sooo sweet - I am really going to miss htose girls and I think Kayley will miss the kids :crying: - I have had a lot of second thoughts the last few days about moving but I guess we can always come back (just an expensive exercise)!
Today I am going into work for lunch with my old team and have to pick up a laptop for work from home - I just got Kayley down for a neap but will have to be a short one (especially as I can still hear her talking).
Mary-Anne - that sucks about the 7 day roster - does it mean you have more days off in between?
Kimba - boo on the probation - boys can be so slack and I really think in many cases are not as willing to be flexible around the baby thing.
Well I have to run and get ready.
Hope everyone has a great day!
Well so
Oh and I nearly forgot - happy 11 months for Jet!
Hi girls,
Can I say I love Lara's chiro. Yesterday she had a 1hr am nap, a 2hr pm nap and then slept for 10hrs straight last night for the first time ever. :smiliedance: Maybe it was a fluke that it happened a few days after the chiro, but I'm happy for him to take the credit.
I swear my next baby will be a no sleeping, horrid teething, fussy eating, constant crying baby....
LOL Mary-anne, with the exception of the constant crying, that describes Lara. I think I've already told you that Eloise was just like Darcy as a baby. We're hoping that Lara will be a good toddler, since we've had our hands full with Eloise as a toddler. Betting not though.
What a pain about the 7 days on roster. Does that mean that you get more days off? You'd want to hope so.
Beck - Must be so hard to say goodbye to everyone. You'll just have to come back for lots of visits (and even try to slot in a Melb Bubhub meet every now and again).
Kimba - Happy 11 months to Jet for yesterday. What a pain about dh's work. Definitely not fair that he doesn't take his share of sickies when Jet is sick. DH will have to when I eventually go back to work full time. Oh and we'd love to be part of Secret Santa again this year.
Sal - Sounds like Nedd is moving along in leaps and bounds. It definitely sounds like it won't be too long before he starts walking.
Di - Poor little Adam and poor you too. It's happened here before too. Bad luck about the m/s...hope it doesn't hang around for too long.
Sarah - Hope Jarvis' teeth pop through soon. How are you going with the house hunting?
Michelle - :yelclap: Abbey on the good night's sleep. Lara's been wearing little paws shoes (leather sole ones) for a few months now, because it's the only way that I can keep her socks on :hair:
So close now to all these 1st birthdays. What's everyone planning? Lara's b'day falls on Melb Cup, so we're just having our families and close friends over for a BBQ and to watch the race (not that we're really into horse racing). Gotta get Eloise's b'day organised first... less than 2 weeks to go and still not sure what we're going to do, only know that it's a teddy bear's picnic theme.
I'm having a quiet night at home tonight, hopefully watching the Pies win another final. Tomorrow, we've got Lara's swimming lesson at 9am, a funeral for a friend of my mum at 11am, a 3 yr old b'day party at 2pm and dinner for dh's best mate's b'day at 8pm (think I'm going to give that one a miss, he can head in by himself).
On that note, have a great weekend girls and
GO THE PIES!!!

This is great!!!!!!
I love having sickies when I am not sick ( naughty employee ).
Kimba - I cant talk but your DH sounds like a bit of a sook sook la la. I mean I took today off coz I had no babysitter but If I wasnt sick I wouldnt be sending my baby to daycare I would wanna play play play alllll day long!!. Us mummies are always constantly thinking about our bubs and what we can do to get more time with them arent we. Happy 11 months to Jet for yesterday!!
Beck - OOhhh i so felt for you having to say goodbye to your mothers group mummies. That woulda been just the pits. I know I woulda been very upset as well.
Sare - OMG.. what a day you have planned for tomorrow. Can I please have some of your energy!!! So happy that Lara gave you a good sleep last night. We will get more 3 days off like every 3 weeks or so, but I really would rather it at 6 days and 2 off coz its killing me now so i cant imagine how I will function when it kicks in. This management has given no thought to their workers with familes ( almost everyone ). Its bad enough we work weekends and such stupid shifts now we have to work 7 in a row:thumbsdown:
Had a devine lunch today with my mothers group was great to catch up again.
DP and I went to look at that block and now we are soooooooooooo undecided. We would love love love more space for kids and to have neighbours far away its just a big decision to go from a moderate mortgage back up to a bigggg mortgage. Especially since I would like to try for a baby next July. That might get pushed back another year which I really dont want.
Ok so I could go on and on but its a boring topic and I am sure we will come to some decision that we are all happy with...
Have a terrific weekend.........*MWAH*

Evening all!
Phew, well I didn't work today, but doesn't mean I haven't stopped!
We are having an open house tomorrow so busy cleaning polishing and shining things!
Nedd had a great sleep this morning- had to wake him to go out after two hrs down....but alas even though he was tired he refused to have a sleep this arvo- not grizzly, he just stood in his cot and chatted till i went to him (I tried for 1.5hrs), so he is already down tonight and hopefully will be tired enough to have a good sleep.
We are pretty much getting a straight through night now 2/3 times which is awesome, I am so rapt!
Maryanne- sounds like you've had a lovely day! Good luck on the decision re the block.
We actually had an appointment with the bank this arvo to talk about our mortgage and where we want to end up with selling/building etc. The are so ridiculous- as things stand at the moment they are telling us we can afford to borrow $480,000  Its absolutely crazy- no wonder so many people go into debt and can't get out.....but on the flip side with what we are planning to borrow we should be still comfortable when I have the next baby and take longer off work- so thats a good thing!
Sare- Yay for Lara, hope it continues tonight! :fingerscrossed:
With Nedds first birthday- his actual birthday is on the fri. But we are going to have him christened on the sunday and then have a BBQ lunch...nothing to big- I am not really into 1st birthdays, it's not like Nedd is going to remember it!
Beck- sounds like you had a lovely catch up with your mothers group....it would be a huge change to go through- but at the end of the day I reckon nothing beats being close to your family so I am sure it will be the right decision.
Kimba- DH and I were just discussing yesterday that we have been slack on the camera! Nedd has done heaps of stuff that we haven't caught- and grown out of heaps of clothes that I loved....and I haven't got any of it on camera so far. Therefore I think I have taken about 30photos so far of him today- he is thoroughly all camera-ed out!
Re Kisses- Nedd give big sloppy open mouthed (and tonguey if your really lucky) ones on cue these days- yesterday I was asking him for "kisses" and we banged heads as we both came forward to give them at the same time- it was a total crack up!
OK, well I still have the bathroom/toilet to go, so I best be off and get it done:rolleyes:
Hope you all enjoy your weekend! :)
Sal - lol yep I get sloppy open mouthed tonguey kisses on cue now, if I say 'kiss mummy' he'll come at me, drooling. I got snotty kisses today, mmm yummy. He also lifts up my shirt and blows raspberries on my boobs and belly!
Mary Anne - my DH is definitely a sooky lala and a bit of a selfish one at that but hey, I knew he was like that when I married him  Good luck making a decision on the land! I'd love to be able to buy land/ build, some day.
Beck - how lovely of your Mum's Group to take you out like that!
Sare - nice one on Lara's sleep I hope it was the chiro that fixed it! Jet's osteo was never able to make a difference, and the last time we took him to be checked (after he fell off the bed) the osteo refused to charge us as he said there was nothing to do/ adjust!
Re: 1st birthday, we don't have the space to host anything at home really, and none of our family lives in Sydney anyway. Plus Jet's actual birthday falls on Idul Fitri this year (which is the end of Ramadan) so we aren't exactly sure how we'll spend the day yet, traditionally it's spent going to morning prayer then visiting family and friends so after DH goes to the prayer ceremony he'll probably want us to go visit his Indonesian Muslim friends. Not much of a 'birthday' celebration for Jet, but should be good anyway...
Then the following weekend (20th) we're going to visit my family down the coast and we'll have a little family party for him down there. And then on the 28th my Mum's Group is having a group bday party for all our bubs! 3 weekends of parties...
What a night ... on top of Lara doing another 10 hr straight stint (with no resettles what-so-ever :smiliedance: ) and Eloise doing a 12 hr stint from 7pm - 7am (so we had some quiet time last night). The Pies won a thriller. :smiliedance: :smiliedance: :smiliedance: That was THE most nerve racking game of footy I think I've ever watched and I had to watch it without yelling at the TV because both of the girls were asleep.
Now I just have to get tickets for next Friday's match :fingerscrossed:
Have a great weekend girls. I know I will now :p
oh well, abbey slept like a pro for 4 nights straight and then last night was a bit of a pain in the bum, and this morning wanted to get soooo early. Fingers crossed she was just taking a break from being an angel.
She is walking everywhere now. Crawling is only for when she needs to go really really fast, or has fallen down and cant be bothered standing back up. Still very slow and deliberate - i can just imagine the cogs whirring as she picks her feet up and decides where to put them.
She is just so cheeky though, a definite little human now. I remember when she just lay around and looked at me. Now she springs up from behind things and says "Hah!" to surprise me.
Sare - well done on the sleep, and on the pies doing some sort of pie thing! Bet youre loving the chiro right now.
Sal - that is a scary mortgage number! My mum is shocked that i pay more rent than she does on her mortgage and that I think $300k for a house is a bargain - but she lives in the country and prices out there sure do look appealing. Its the having to live in the country bit thats not appealing! You should have gotten your parcel by now too, most definately.
I always felt soooo guilty when i took sickies, and having to do that phone call was just too hard. *cough, splutter, im soooo sick, heh heh*. Course it didnt help my state of mind that i once lost a job because my boss saw me out and about having a lark on a sickie day.
Kimba - that catch of the day site is funny. Yesterday they were flogging sesame street rompers but size would be allocated randomly. Just tell bubby to suck it in!

Well girls, hats off to you, I have tried all week to get in here and manage to talk and I manage to read a few posts then get dragged away for something or other. I think I will always be a poor mate, but I will try my best!
First off, Congrats to Kristen and Di on their babies, I'm a wee bit envious, but then when I remember that sickness and the trouble this boy of mine has been, I'm quite glad I'm not!! I can't believe how far on the pair of you are and I'm really chuffed for you both.
Sare - watched the game last night and I was thinking about you, I could see you jumping about the living room!!! I was shouting at the eagles to grab the ball, I mean do they cover it in butter before they take to the field??! Still don't really bother with footy, but it's exciting when it's a close game like that. Good luck on getting the tickets for Friday. That's great about Lara's sleeping, I'm sure it was all your doing, haha.
Mary-Anne - good luck on deciding what to do about the block. I would love a bigger block, but as we've just got this house sorted if I mentioned that to DH he'd have a hairy fit!! Haha, I'd love to build again, but I think I'm on to plums. It's a big decision to go from comfortable to a tighter budget, but then I always look long term. If you think in 7-10 years time you wont be so tight on the budget, but you'll have to bigger house and land :fingerscrossed: anyway!!
Sal - good news on the money front, how is your house build going? Any pics? How did the home open go, plenty of people through? Re the citizenship, we don't need to sit the test because our application was already in before the law was passed. We didn't have the appointment yet when the law went through though and I was on tenderhooks as to whether we'd have to do the test, but when I managed to book and interview we don't have to do it so :smiliedance: for that. Wasn't lookin g forward to studying Australian history etc. and sports questions??! If it wasn't on the pies I'd have no chance (cheers Sare!!)
Kimba - that's not great for Dh, but maybe it'll make him pull his socks up .... especially if he's wanting that holiday!! I'd love to go on holiday next year, it's DHs 40th so maybe I'll get something planned - any recomendations? And yay on Jed's walking, what a big boy! And Happy 11 months Jed I'm so sad that these babies are getting so big!!
Michelle - Yay on Abbey walking too. And lol on her pulling your top up to feed, that could be embarassing in the shops!! I'm with you on the cleaning, I think my kids don't get germs as the house is mockit!!! It's not that bad (honest to god!!), but with the three of them making a mess now I'm on a losing battle. I found a programme on Foxtel the other day called 'Perfect Housewife', well that's not me!!! Ah well, god loves a trier. But my weans don't have any alergies and very rarely get sick, so long may that continue.
Beck - good luck on the move. As one who's done it, you'll be fine. Sometimes it's scary and sometimes it's great, just try to look at all the good stuff (does Adelaide have good stuff? I imagine it does??! I am an idiot!!) But I always said that I could go back if I didn't like it, and it's true. If you don't give it a try you'll never know and always wonder "what if"
This is a long one, so I'll go just now. Apologies to anyone that I've missed, I have read everything now and I'm loving all the new piccies of our babies, they are a gorgeous bunch, aren't they!
And are any of you on Bebo? I was looking and I've only got one Aussie on there, that's a real poor show, can I have some of you guys as friends ? Pretty please?
Hope you're all well, and have a lovely weekend. Love and kisses, Marion.xx
Hi all
What a busy week this one has been,
We had a baby shower AND a hen's night. Gee I haven;t been out in like 2 centuries and now I am demand lol.
Well it appears m/s was just here for a visit. Been slightly off but no more :barf: Thank God.
We have ordered out bonnie babes book so I can't wait to see which photo they picked of little bug a lugs. I have just discovered his birthday is national babies day this year........I knew he was special:D ..Looks like Nedd is also a super special bubby.
Well DH had his choppy choppy done on Friday morning. It has given me no end of delight. He isn't in pain just flinches if moves the wrong way and his wiggly bits don't lol.
The funniest thing for me is he needs to take a sample in to make sure all of the sperm is gone.
I think I may have mentioned he can be a bit of a prude when a "serious" sex topic comes up ( he's the biggest stirrer otherwise).. well you can imagine his face when the receptionist was telling him he needs to do the deed in the little jar....after ringing the pAthology place to make sure they can accept the sample at that time (it has to be within an hour). I want to see his face when he has to hand it to the lady with her knowing full well what he has just done  .
My god I am nasty lol, just can't help it. I don't have much opportunity to get him back.
Anyway now that you all have TMI i am off to watch the rest of the footy and probably doze in the chair.
Hugs & Kisses to all
Hi guys,
Di I'm with you about going from no social life to being popular - this week I had my first "night out" (ie no baby and some wine!) on Wed night, it was a work dinner but I had a blast as my colleagues are good fun. Then yesterday my sister had a "toy" party, started at 3 and went home at 7.30, but it was so much fun, I even bought a couple of things (blushing). Plus Ella & I had a first birthday on Friday- also lots of fun.
I can't believe how much happier I am this weekend for having had all that fun time!
One more week of booby to go - she gets taken off tap next Saturday!
Hi Marion, nice to see you
Michelle - how cool is it when they start initiating "play" with you?? (instead of you throwing lots of energy into acting like a tool and getting a blank baby look in return:o ) On the mortgage - what kind of a fool am I - living in the country AND paying Canberra prices. It would be nice to live somewhere cheaper. I'm working on it!
Sare - YAY on the sleep and YAY on the footy! You've actually got me watching the AFL scores! It's a great time for a footy nut atm - world cup, NRL and AFL finals... DP is in paytv heaven these days...
Sal, good luck with the open house. It'd better be worth cleaning the toilet for!
Kimba - the sick leave moratorium might be just the thing to give your DP a kick in the bum - he might be a bit alarmed that someone is actually WATCHING his leave balances! Wow 3 weekends of parties - Jet should get lots of presents and cake... I'm a bit excited about Ella's party now, two weeks to go!
Better skip off now and do some virtual shopping, ready for when my tax return comes in :D

Morning Ladies,
Well thats another weekend over- they are going so quickly! I realised that it is only 5wks till Nedds birthday and I haven't even thought about invites for a party, yikes!
We had our open house on Sat- big flop, a few people through but no real interest...lucky we aren't in a hurry to sell. We are going to pull advertising till after the footy finals and school holidyas are all over then try again.
I was meant to go to the Powderfinger/Silverchair concert last night- all excited, Loyd was staying home to look after Nedd and I was going with a mate- well I got cancelled because of a massive rip in the marquee  They have rescheduled it for tongiht- but its not the same, I was settling in for a few drinks last night...tonight it will just be a concert then straight home. Plus I have had to cancel work appointments as the gates open at 4pm.
Hey Syd girls- I am coming up there this week with Nedd. We arrive in Tues evening, and leave Fri arvo. I am there for a conference with little to no free time so I doubt I will get time to catch up, unless we can arrange something tues after 5.30? (I did try to wrangle another night and come home sat- but alas work said no!) Whats the weather like up there- I have no idea what to pack for Nedd or for Me.
Nedd has been sleeping really well. I have started pre-empting his early wake ups by going and making sure he is well tucked in about 5.30- he has slept through till 7.30 both mornings I have done it!
Bec- Isn't it nice to feel like you have a life?!? I went out for a few drinks last night after the concert was cancelled and had a great time! Good luck with the "no booby"
Di- How cool is that re our "national babies day" babies!!! What are you doing for Adams first birthday? Even though they are one on the fri we are having a little party on the sun for Nedd.
Hi Marion- It really is lovely to hear from you! You'll never be the poor mate. Whatever time you can spare is great- I struggle to keep up with one- let alone multiple children!
Michelle- How'd Abbey go tonight? Do you call her Ab's?? I am so one for shortening names, and thats what I keep calling her in my head :o
And yep I got my parcel- THANKYOU so much for my bonus goodies- you are a champ! I am just doing the washing bit (which I hate cause when you get a new nappy all you want to do is put it on!) and then I will post some piccies for sure!
Sare- I was thinking of you Fri night, what a game! This weeks will be a ripper....how'd you go getting tickets?
And yay for Lara and Eloise on their sleeps...you msut feel so much better!
Kimba- Lucky Jet, three weekends of parties, he will be the little socialite of the Oct group....hope he doesn't get too used to it and expect it every year! :D
Well I am off to do some work  boring! Would much rather curl up on the couch and read a book all day or something equally indulgent!

If I have taken a picture that I want to make part of a post...how do I do this?? Does this make sense?

Hi chickies,
We're back! Had a nice time in nz with the il's apaart from Sophia's sleep habits of waking up at least 5 times a night was appalling. We are back to 2 each night now we're home which is ok.
She had a little stand by herself which she looked very pleased about and enjoyed having her mum and dad 24/7! Still no closer to getting her to have any milk that isn't from me :hair:
As for me, too many shortbread bikkies, wine and dh's cooking have had their effect so it's time to do some excercise and get ready for summer at the beach.
Is it bad not to have a 1st birthday party? I really can't be bothered :o and I HATE making people feel like they have to buy pressies etc.
I have read through all ya posts but I don't think I can manage personals but it sounds like eo has had a pretty alright week. Righto, better get ready for work.

Morning all.
Just a quickie from me- I am off to Syd this arvo, and not taking my laptop so I will be offline till Sat.
Funny story bout last night- Nedd woke up with an almighty scream at 4am, something must have frightened him as he was hysterical.
So after giving him some cuddles he still wasn't settling I decided to heat up his bottle....I take the top off to heat in the microwave- DH doesn't. I asked him to get it out of the microwave and bring it to me, when he came in I lay nedd down in his cot (I often give his nighttime bottle to him like this so he can go straight back to sleep) and I proceeded to shove the bottle in Nedds mouth- only DH in his half asleep state hadn't realised that I didn't have the top on- so poor Nedd ended up covered in formula  The poor little man- he got such a fright! As did I....which ended in more tears a complete change of clothes and sheets and a fresh bottle before we finally got him resettled. So I had a nice little wake up from 4-5.30 this morning.
Dilemma- I have found that by going and covering Nedd up at about 5.30am he sleeps much later (I think he had been waking bout 6-6.30 because he was cold), now he sleeps till 7.30-8am....BUT if he sleeps that late he only has one day sleep of 3-4hrs, if he wakes up early he has two of 1.5hrs....which would you choose? I don't know if I am ready for one sleep yet- I like that whatever I don't get done during his morning sleep (usually cause I am too busy here!) I can get done in his second sleep.
Hope everyone stays well over the next few days!
Take care

Sal - 3 or 4 hours during the day:eek::eek::eek: I reckon either scenario sounds pretty good luv!!
I'm busy tonight which is a shame, let me know if you have any free time come up
Ah Sal, that's just too funny. Pouring milk all over him, a sure way to shush him up! :D I can just imagine how confused he must have been!
Hmm..one big sleep to two...I think i prefer 2 sleeps. In the morning nap i shower, get dressed and do some work, and in the afternoon nap I hang out washing and do yard work etc. I know they will all go to the big midday nap soon, but I figure its taken me this long to get napping right, i dont really want to start all over again! Right now i know when is the best time to go out, see people, do this, do that...it will confuse me to change!
Oh with waking screaming, Abbey does that sometimes and I wonder if she has a muscle cramp, especially if she is inconsolable for a while.
Of course, maybe Nedd was just dreaming about clowns. You know how scary they are.
On the top of dreaming, does any baby here giggle in their sleep? Abbey does sometimes and fall in love with her more every time. They grow out of it mostly, except my little brother who is 26 and still does it.
Di - choppy choppy? No! Oh well, no point going to future baby expos then, he will just get randy without being clucky. Actually, that makes him sound like some sort of perv...
Abbey has decided sleeping through was boring. She did it for 4 nights and now no more. She wont even sleep nicely in my bed, she keeps trying to crawl off the edge of the bed. Im tempted to let her, just to give her a shock. Edge+continual motion does not equal freedom as she thinks it does. She can get off the couch and bed when she is awake, but she doesnt think it through in the middle of the night.
She walks everywhere now and is working on getting faster. Cheeky banana will be running soon. She's also very good at understand mummy's instructions, like "go read a book" or "go get a book" and "brush your teeth please", but that doesnt mean she obeys all the time. I even got a 'no no no no'!

News - I fractured my left ankle on Sunday arvo - so I'm in a cast now for the next 12 weeks! Ever tried chasing an almost 1 year old while on crutches and pregnant???? Not nice!
Other news - We had our Nuchal scan yesterday, all is great, and as soon as I have the energy to crutch my way to the office I will try and scan some pic's to put up. Once again, I cried when bubba came up on the screen (our clinic puts the scan up on a huge plasma screen up on the wall so the pic is huge!). Isabella was transfixed by the little wriggling black and white image, it was so cute watching her reaction to daddy trying to explain that this was her baby brother or sister - awwwwww!
Hi all,
Just a quick one before we head back to the chiro. Nothing new here to report...colds still have a grip on the household, Eloise still being a pain, planning for Eloise's birthday party next week.
Until last night, Lara had 4 nights straight of 10hrs sleep (hope she's not following Abbey's lead and deciding that 4 nights is enough). Last night she was up at 3.30am and 5am, so no where near as bad as she was. I think her teeth were bothering her as she looks like she's about to cut tooth #6. Still no luck with lumpy/fingerfood. On the plus side, she'll eat anything that is purreed.
Re footy tickets: I went to get them yesterday, but they couldn't guarantee that they were under cover (rain predicted Fri night) and I wasn't able to get Eloise her own seat. I'm going to take my chances and see if I can get them when they are released to the general public tomorrow. If not channel 7 better put it on live :devil6:
Krisitin - :hugs: That would be tough. It must have been a bad fracture for 12 weeks in plaster. Good to hear that all went well with your scan.
Michelle - No giggling in sleep here, but boy does Lara snore
Sal - I think I'd be going for the 2 sleeps too. LAst week the chiro said that I should try and get Lara up at 7am and do food before milk and then would get 2 good day time sleeps as well as night time too and it worked. Have fun in Sydney.
Georgia - Glad you had a great trip. Wow on Sophia's wake up calls while you were away, that would have been tough.
Better go. Eloise has just woken up crying. Thank goodness I am dropping her off at dh's work while I take Lara to the chiro...she's having one of those days. :devil6: :banghead: :hair:
Hopefully BBL
It's all happening here, I feel in a right flap - I have a job interview on Friday at 11, I'm out in the paddock (scrub really - if you don't hear from me in a couple of weeks....) all day Thursday, had diahorrea so didn't go to work yesterday, and then DP got offered a day & a half of work today & tomorrow, & we kind of need the money. But I have so much work to get done, plus preparing for the interview. Last time I went for a job it was just me, now I am providing for a family.. I hope it's the right decision
Ella is napping (little darling) so I've just got today's work done and was thinking about starting tomorrows.. not very hard though....
Sare, good luck with the chiro. Such great results, hope they continue! Good luck with the tickets too. I've never been to a finals match live, it must be awesome! Maybe I'll even watch & cheer for your Pies (I just love footy in general really).
Oh my LORD Kristin that must be so hard! You have made my running around in a flap look quite pathetic really! Glad your scan went well. It is definitely one of my warmest fuzziest preggo moments (only beaten by the first kick and the 20wk scan)
Michelle, don't you wish those babies would develop some kind of self preservation instinct? Ella loves throwing herself backwards when you pick her up (especially if she was really happy where she was!) and she's getting so strong - one day someone's just going to drop her:( makes me worry! We haven't got a "no" yet but the screaming & twisting is quite effective.
Sal, OMG I'm with Georgia, I'll take any scenario! On the days Ella takes only one nap she sleeps heaps better & longer all together. But we still just go with her flow - at least she naps longer than 20 mins these days!
Georgia, we're only having a 1st b'day because WE want to celebrate - I'm sure Ella won't remember it! Also all the mothers group toddlers (all older than Ella) have a blast at the birthday parties, so I thought "why not one more"!
OK break over, better try & do some job research before Ella wakes up.
http://princessabbey.aboutmybaby.com/video/46398
Tritty trot, tritty trot.
Kristen - it was sport wasnt it? I tell you, nothing good ever came from participating in sport! I've broken 2 bones playing hockey and netball respectively, but fortunately neither of them belonged to me.
Hey All
Just a quick hello before I get into it again - geez packing is a pain in the butt!
As for the sleeps, Kayley has pretty much gone down to one sleep a day for the last week or so. In one way it is easier as I only have to fight with her once (I still can't believe my baby dislikes sleep) and on the other side I think I can get more done in 2. The only problem is the last 2 days the 1 sleep has only been around 1.5 hours! And I am still trying to work out where to fit feeding & showering etc.
As for night time sleep, she has had a few shockers waiting for this tooth to pop through but last night was quite good. She woke at 2am and I came in and she resettled in about 5 mins then she slept again until 6.45 - that is ALMOST an unbroken sleep. It has been just over a week of not being fed overnight at all so we are moving in a positive direction finally.
Michelle - that vid is so cute - Abbey is such a big girl!
Bec - good luck with the interviews.
Sare - Hopefully back for another 10 hour sleep tonight! I have woken up with a bit of a cold today which I am not too happy about!
Kristin - glad the scan went well - I hope you cope with the brake OK - how did you do it?
Georgia - glad Sophia has settled down now you are at home - I am a bit worried about the moving thing for that reason - I hope she settles into our new crappy house OK!!
Sal - yeah open inspections are terrible. We have had over 25 groups through our house with the highest offer being around $20K less than the minimum we wanted which is not too pleasing. I think it is even harder when you build your home and get everything done they way you want it and then you value the place so much - you don't want to let it go for nothing! Oh well we will see how we go - we don't want to rent out really as we will be mortgaged to the hilt and are worried a tennant will de-value the property but we may end up having to go that way if the prices don't improve!
Anyway - I better go - lots to do today!!
Have a good day everyone.

Good morning everyone, how are you all?
We're doing good here. The sun is finally shining, I'd forgotten what it looked like!
I have had a rotten cold for the last few days, but it's getting better now. It's not helped when Logan's still getting up through the night and I'm not getting proper sleep, but what can you do? His wee teeth are bothering him so I've just got to live with it. It's his other eye tooth that's coming through - with still no sign of the top two .... he's like my little Dracula!!
Kristen - poor you, I'm thinking about you, hopefully you've someone to help you out as I don't think you'll be doing much running about. How are the pain killers going? I'm imagining that you can't take too much and you'll be feeling every bit of pain. Poor you.
Beck - Logan was unsettled for two nights, but then he just went back to his normal sleep pattern. For some reason he kept staring at the roof when we moved??! He must've known it was a different ceiling!! Logan's day sleeps are pretty rubbish just now as well and I'm noticing I'm getting nothing done either, we're on about 1.5 hours aswell. I'm very envious of Sal's 3-4 hours!! haha.
Michelle - you are hilarious as usual!! - I hope you wer e joking about the broken bones ...... The video is so cute, that brings back memories of my two girls ..... it's funny how you forget how cute they are!!
Bec - what a week! I hope your prep is going ok, I'm sure you'll be fine. Just remember to breathe!
Sare - well done on the sleeps with Lara, bad luck on the tantrums - they don't get any better, I had a killer tantrum this morning from the 11 year old, I'll need to catch it on film to show her when she's older!! and I hope you got your tickets.
Georgia - I'm with you on the 1st birthday party, but DH keeps talking about it, so I suppose I'll need to organize one! It can be the house warming that we never had too, lol. But I still can't be bothered!!
Sal - You're a trouper for working so hard and still managing to get everything done. I don't work and achieve nothing haha!! I'm lucky if I manage to cook dinner!! Poor show from me I think!
Ah well, that's about all from me, nothing exciting happening, just a cold and some eye teeth!! What a life! Hope you're all well. Marion.xx
I finally have some child free time!! It's funny, I'm sitting here typing, and it seems to be taking me forever...do you think one may be able to forget how to type, lol!!
I had my first ever accupuncture treatment on Monday. Has or does anybody else have accupuncture? I'm not too sure what to think of it all yet...I have had a lot of cramps and spasms in various areas of the body since then. I spose I will have to have another couple of treatments before I can really judge what's going on.
Things have been so crazy here. I'm feeling a little overwhelmed atm I think. The boys, especially Mack, have really started putting on the behaviour. It's all got to do with DH being away, I know that much. Mack broke down to my sister the other night, telling her between sobs and screams, that he wants a new mummy :gloomy: That I'm just no fun anymore. He was so distressed, it made both my sister and I cry with him. DH being away is really starting to take a toll on us all for sure! I have spoken to him about it all, and we are once again in huge discussion about what we will do about it all. He has told me that he won't be returning to any job locally to get stuck with a $1000 take home wage.....So, it looks like we'll be moving somewhere, just don't know where, or when! We will be taking the boys up there very soon for a few weeks though so we can all check out his environment, and do a little catch up visit with my bestie who is moving to Brisbane this week.
Jarvis has still only got the 5 teeth. I don't know what his problems were last week....who ever knows with babies, hey? He has been a bit weird with his sleeping lately, it's driving me mental. It seems he likes to me pat his bum and stroke his face to put him to sleep these days. Where are the days that I could plonk him in his cot and walk out? They are all just getting a little too knowing aren't they? He slept through last night, needed a booby feed the night before, but slept through the night before that one  Ahh well, at least he sleeps I guess!
RE: sleeps during the day - Jarvis has been a little confusing over the last couple of weeks too. I thought at one stage that he had decided to have 1 longer sleep during the day, then the last couple of days, he has been having 2 sleeps. Today, he has been down for 2 hours already, so will probably only have the one sleep. I do prefer for him to have 2 sleeps as it seems he sleeps better during the night, but with one sleep, I guess I can get more out of my day, iykwim? It's getting pretty close now to the time they will want just 1 sleep, so I guess it's just a trial and error process yeah?
Ok, enough about us, time for personals:
Sare: :smiliedance: on the Pies win!! Won't Friday night be an absolute thriller? The boys and I will be 'staying up' to watch, while poor DH will miss half of it due to working. How did you get on with getting tickets? DH will be going to the Grand Final if Geelong gets there (which they will of course, lol). Mum can get a couple of tickets as she works at the GFC! Good luck at the chiro. How often do you need to take her?
Marion: It's just horrible being sick isn't it? I'm on antibiotics atm for a sinus infection, but they aren't doing anything for my cough, grrr! It must be really hard for your little man having his teeth popping up all muddled. No wonder he's a little sad.
Beck: How annoying that there hasn't been much interest in your house. It sure sounds like people want a look though. Are you still having opens each weekend? Do you have an exact date of when you are leaving? Which removalist company are you going with? The reason I ask is that my bestie has just paid $3300 for a move to Brisbane!! That's what you guys have paid to get to SA isn't it?
Michelle: I had a little squizzy at Abbey's video. What a clever, clever girl! Just too cute! She'll be out cruising the shops with you so so soon! Love her little piggy nappy too, lol. Oh, and Abbey lifting your top to get to booby....Little J has started with this too! It's funny at times, a little cheeky too. He likes to pull my top up, find my nipple, then laugh at it, lol! Sounds like a typical bloke, lol.
Bec: Good luck for your interview on Friday. Is this the job that will require you to move, or am I just way too behind with everything?
Kristin: Well, what a mess! You poor thing being in a cast AND on crutches for the next 12 weeks! It sure will make the next 12 weeks of your pregnancy go quick won't it. You'll have something else to take your mind off it all, lol! Hope you're able to get around ok, etc. Take it easy....
Sal: So sorry, but I sat here LMAO when I read about the spilt milk.... Haven't you told him there's no point crying over spilt milk, lol! What a shock it must of been for him. It just goes to show how we are still asleep when attending them during the night! Have a safe trip to Sydney, and try not to work too hard.
Georgia: Nice to hear you had a great holiday. It's always nice to get away. I'm with you on being undecided about the 1st birthday party. We had quite a big one for DS1. For DS2 we had a smaller party, just with immediate family. DH won't be home for Jarvis' birthday, so I'm still tossing up what to do...
Well, I think that I have definitly typed out a record post, so I'll be off now. Have a great day all,
Sarah
Kristin - I am so sorry, darling  How are you feeling about it all? How will you manage bubs? Can your mum and MIL help out? :hugs:
Sarah - I have never had acupuncture but have heard that it's pretty normal to feel 'spasmy' and tingly for a bit as your nerves are being encouraged to move. Sammy has been going between 1 and 2 sleeps this last week and seems OK with it.
Marion - Glad to see you back. I post sporadically as well; there is just too much going on!
beck75 - That many groups thorough?! There is plenty of interest then. I hope you get what you are asking for.
m_jelly - She is so beautiful! I played that over and over again. DH and I can't wait for Sammy to walk.
Becbabe - Sounds like life is very hectic. I will completely understand if you ditch Floriade in favour of SLEEP!!!
Sare - It seems all of our kids are teething at once. Just a thought - I made fried rice last night and thought maybe Lara would eat that?
Well; I'm onto my 3rd glass of red. I bought a 24 bottle wine rack, so of course I had to fill 'er up! DH stayed home with Sam today as I am way down in flex time (I owe work 14 hours) as Sam has been sick so much and I only have 4 days leave left:eek: He has a new respect for me as I usually manage to do the groceries, clean, pick up dog poo, do all the washing and cook 2-3 meals to freeze. What did he do? Nothing! And the house is a mess.
I should get back to work but thought I'd make an appearance. Sam is into not standing independently yet but so depserately wants to: he keeps kneeling in front of me, grabbing my hande and when I pull him up he 'walks.' Too cute!
I'm having a Tupperware party Saturday and invited everyone I know, thinking no-one would come (I only said I'd do it so a mate got her free gift thingy). Turns out 15-20 people are coming, so maybe I'll get some free stuff myself!
Hugs to bubs and mummies as well. Stuff the daddies ... unless they are actually helpful :D
Hi girls,
Still snuffling my way through the day, but otherwise all is good here.
I decided not to get tickets to the prelim final on Friday, dh wasn't too keen and the hassle of taking the 2 girls when there is likely to be a 95,000+ crowd didn't appeal to me. So I held off in the hope that they would show the game live into Melb and they are :smiliedance: Not the same as being there, but I will still be cheering on the boys. Maybe I'll head up to the Lilydale International (which is owned by the CFC) and watch it there. As long as I am watching it, I don't care. Don't think they will win (:fingerscrossed: that they do) but hopefully it's a good game.
I took Lara back to the chiro yesterday and he was really impressed with the improvement. He said there was 40% improvement on her shoulder and 60% on her neck. She's back again next week for another session and then maybe 1 more and she'll be all fixed  She slept much better last night too. She woke up at 11.45pm and needed to be picked up to be settled, and I was cursing because that usually means that she'll be up a number of times through the night, but to my surprise she slept until 7.30am.
Today the IL's took Eloise for the day, and they went to the tulip festival in Monbulk. Lara and I went to meet them up there and my SIL and niece went too. I was expecting it to be as boring as all hell, but it was ok. Bit of dutch dancing, a few stalls, lots of pretty tulips, horse and carriage rides and Coxy was there filming for Saturday's episode of Coxy Big Break (so we'll have to watch to see if we made it on to tv). Lara and I left early because Lara had a Gymbaroo lesson. So another busy day here.
Okay enough about us...
Sarah - :hugs: Poor you and the boys. It must be so hard on all of you with your dh away. Good luck with whatever you do about deciding to move.
Hope you had a good child free day.
Marion - Not looking forward to having hormonal teenage girls  Hope you are feeling better.
Beck - Good luck with all the packing. Did you say that you were auctioning? Great news about Kayley's sleep last night. Hope she does it agin for you tonight.
Michelle - That video is adorable. I love it when they are so wonky on their feet.
Bec - Good luck with the job interview. You must be loving all the footy on at the moment. I have to admit I do not nothing about rugby, so I don't watch it.
Sal - I had a laugh at the milk story too. Did your dh help you clean it up?
Mary-anne - I don't think you can put pictures in posts, but you can put links to them on photobucket and probably flickr too.
Well another huge post from me. I think I have a serious case of verbal diarrhoea :ecomcity:
Have a great night everyone

MORNIN EVERYONE!!!
Well i have had 4 days off and today is my last before I start my 7 days in a row roster....POO!!
I have been flat out trying to get orgainsed for another week of work.
I have had a chance to catch up with some friends and do some shooping though so thats great.
Sare - Sounds like Lara is going great guns with her sleeping, I bet the whole family is so glad. Hope you start to feel a bit better soon. I will be thinking of you on friday night when your boys play, I wish I could bring myself to say " Hope they win" for you but I just cant do it..... . The tulip fes. sounds great, they are my fav flower ever!!.. Thanks for the link info, now I just have to work out how to do it.....
Michelle - How cute is that video.......Abbey is one clever chicky thats for sure. I was hoping the answering NO NO NO was going to be a long way off... obviously not..
Marion - Great to hear from you again. Glad to hear Logan and the girls are well.Re the citizen test. I watched something on that on insight the other night and it looks like a load of cr@p. So nice work not having to sit the test.
Di - Good luck on DH getting chopped. Its the least men can do seeing as though we have the babies, not just the fun part like making them liket he men do.
Bec - How exciting with Ella being 1 so soon. Thats just soooo exciting. Good luck with the weaning, Hope it goes smoothly for both your sakes. Hope the job interview goes well.. GOOD LUCK :fingerscrossed: .
Sal - Had to have a giggle as well at the milk story, I know it probably wasnt funny at the time though. Cant help on the days sleeps we have a pretty good moring routine here but the afternnoons are still whatever goes, so sometimes a arvo sleep but sometimes not.
Georgia - Welcome back. Poo on Sophia's new sleeping habits. Glad they have settles now your back home. Its not wrong to not want a party, its more for the parents anyway. I guess I will have something small purely for pictures in the photo album....
Kristin - OMG.. .How on earth are you doing it. Lively 11 month old, pregnant AND broken bone... Hope DH is home and not away at work so he can at least give you a hand doing some things. I cried like a sook lala at the 12 weeks scan as well and probably will with the next one. So happy to hear the scan was all great.
Beck - AARRGGHH... I hate packing so much. I never know how much sh!t I accumulate until we have to pack. I know its not funny for you but I had a little chuckle with Kayley " disliking sleep"... I have the opposite Darc is a SLEEP PIG!!....Gee 20K less then your minimum..how depressing. So all the people through were nosey neighbours or potential buyers...???
Hang in there its not been on the market for long.
So I have chatted away and am nearly out of time to talk about whats been happeneing here.
Well we have 4 lovely teeth. crawling faster everyday, pulling up to standing, not cruising, definitely understanding the wrod NO, sleeping perfectly, eating good, food wise but has been a bit fussy with bottles..??????....
Darcy has become a bit of a bully with the other mothers group bubbas, taking dummys from their mouths, ripping bottles whilst they are eating, tackling them to get to what she wants to play with. I guess they all do this at some stage though. ??
As for the 2 adults that live here, we are going good. We are tired as everybody is. but it was causing fights due to irritability. So we have tried to curb that and its working pretty well so far.
We are still procrastinating about the acre block. Its 245k neg, so its a good price, we just dont know if we wanna blow out to a big mortgage again. Decisions Decisions.....
Ok enough already Mary-Anne, You've probably all nodded off from boredom.....kisses to all the beautiful bubbas!!!!!!!!
~Kristin~

:crying: WARNING - EMOTIONAL VENT:gloomy:
I'm tired, my ankle is hurting so bad as stupid Dr would prescribe any pain relief due to pregnany (what the?????), and because of the crutches my back is aching and I have rub marks under my arms.
To top it off, this my 2nd last week at home with Bella before I return to work for a few months and I can't even run around and play with her, and she doesn't understand why. Daddy has taken a few weeks off work to help out, but I just want to play chasey with her and pick her up and carry her around when she asks me to.
Bella had her 1st day with her daycare mum yesterday, and I bawled for about half an hour after DP took her there (I couldn't do it). She will go back 2 days next week, and then fulltime.........
Hmmmmmmmm, it just occured to me, I'm having one of those really bummed out blue preg-cruddy days.
VENT DONE - ta!
Wow it's been quiet in here for the last couple of days.
Kristin - :hugs: You poor thing. Hopefully the next 12 weeks go super fast for you. Good luck with going back to work and enjoy your last week with Bella.
Mary-Anne - :hugs: to you too for your 7 day on shift. What a bummer. Sounds like you enjoyed yourself on your 4 days off. I can't believe Darcy is being a bully  She always seems so placid. Just wait until she learns the word mine, that's when the fun will begin :p
Jen - Have fun at your tupperware party. Thanks for the idea about fried rice, but I think it too would be a no-goer. Whenever she has anything that she is expected to chew or that is lumpy, she blows raspberries and the food comes flying out of her mouth. You should see the state of our floor after meal times, it's a disgrace.
Nothing happening here... just thought I would pop on while BOTH of my :devil6: are asleep. They've co-ordinated sleep times for the last 2 days, yesterday I did some cleaning, so today I'm having some computer time. Think I may go off and work on invitations for Lara's birthday.
I better add...
GO THE PIES!!!
I've done that for the last 2 weeks and they have won, I'm hoping they can get over the line again tonight.
Have a great weekend...
Job interview went great. But it's been the week from hell & I'm completely stuffed, so I'll BBL sometime over the weekend for a chat!
Howdy all
Kristen hope you're feeling better after your vent. I just hung up from giving my mum a 1/2 hour pregnant rant myself.
We are moving on Wednesday, my poor younger dog is sick, I have had non stop m/s for the last week (never suffered it before...that'll teach me) and to top it all off DH is nearly ready to have to hand his sample in but he needs to have 2 "empty outs" first so now he is hassling me about that.....
Other than that all is good here. My dear little man is just the happiest man on the planet who is having so much fun helping me to pack. I put it in he takes it out.....great game lol
I was watching the footy but falling asleep in the chair so I have now said a quick hello. I think that means I can now go to bed happy.
:hugs: & to one and all

Hi chickies:wave:
I've been a bad bubhubbud and have been fart arsing around in Facebook, and I must say i'm obsessed!
Anyhoo,
Sare - Go the pies, just turned it on then!
Bec - Good on you for yopur job interview, i'm sure you charmed the pants off them.
Kristin - Hmmm, sounds like you need a glass of wine... Hope you're feeling better and it's great that your dh is around when you need him.
Mary-anne - Hope your week goes ok, it must be nice to have 4 days off in a row.
I have to brag about the sleep Sophia had last night 8:30pm - 6:30 am then a feed and back down 'til 8:30!
:smiliedance: I was loving it and am really hoping there can be another one just like it!
Did anyone see my restaurant on A current Affair tonight!! I completely forgot about it then saw the ad by accident  It was a story about wagyu beef.
Ooh it's a close game Sare, bet you're on the edge of your seat!
Bad luck Sare - I have to admit I was secretly going for Geelong though as if Port doesn't win I would like to see them get a final after all these years.
Go Port for tomorrow (bet that won't be winning me any friends)!
Well I am buggered from cleaning and packing so I am going to bed - have a good weekend everyone!
POO!!! :crying:
It was a good game, just the wrong result :p Not sure who to go for now. Won't be Port sorry Beck, they're one of my least favourite teams. Well done to your boys Sarah. I bet it will be crazy down Geelong for the next week (and possibly more...)
Off to bed to watch the 1st episode of Survivor China.
Great news about Sophia's sleep Georgia. Got my :fingerscrossed: for you.
What a shocker of a night I had with Jarvis last night. I'd probably have to say it's the worst night I've ever had with any of my boys. He woke up at 1.30am, so I fed him. When I put him back down, he wouldn't settle and started crying again. For the next 3.5 hours, I offered the booby, brauers, a spot in my bed, panadol, more booby, but nothing helped. In the end, I just had to put him into his cot, shut his door, and bury my head into the balnkets so I couldn't hear him. I only got abot 3 hours sleep for the whole night, so I'm completely buggered tonight. I have no idea what his problem was, but he had better not carry on like that tonight!
What a game last night Sare! IMO Collingwood was the better side last night for the first 3/4 of the game. Geelong just had no legs! I think their week off didn't help them at all. Geelong were very lucky to make it across the line...and you know, I was sitting on the edge of my seat too, lol! The boys looked so cute. I let them stay up to watch. They were wearing the foty jumpers, hats and scarves. They were waving their flags, holding their footy's, and scraming GO CATS! Mum and my sister came over to watch with us, and the boys bought tears to her eyes they were so precious!
Oh, NEWS!!! AF made her return this morning!! I was expecting though I think, as I was pretty sure I was ovulating a couple of weeks ago, so my suspicions were correct! Hmmm, I can make babies again now, lol!
I'm off to bed. I so exhausted!
Sarah
Hi All
Just a quick hello for me - I am so over packing and cleaning....I am ready to move.
Sare - I don't expect any of the Melbourne girls to go for the Power! I actually would have gone for Geelong if they didn't make it. They had a great game yesterday - glad I'm not a Kangaroos supporter - they were terrible!
Sarah - yeah on AF returning!! Good luck with the baby making!! Nothing here yet which doesn't surprise me. I havent been feeding at all overnight for nearly 2 weeks now though so will see if that makes any difference. Not that we are TTC so it would just be a pain if it come back anyway!! I told hubby I was interested in trying again next winter so he has a little while to think about getting used to the idea!!
Oh and Kayley slept through last night for the first time ever! Pity I am wrecked. We went out for tea with a few people before we leave and didn't get home until late so byt the time I bathed and fed Kayley she didn't get to sleep until 9.50. We finally got rid of our visitors at about 1am and I was expecting a 4am wake up call but she made it through until 6.45 - yay yay yay - all I can say is I hope this is a start of a habit!
Well I better run - Kayley is watching baby Einstein but keeps turning the volume up so the rem ote is about to be confiscated!
Hi guys,
Our house smells so yummy, I have been in a cooking frenzy putting it in the freezer for Ella's parties. We have 2 white choc cakes, a batch of banana choc chip muffins, cheese & zucchini muffins and a pan of choc caramel brownies on my bench...mmmm...
Ella was so good while I cooked, she kind of roamed around the loungeroom stopping for a bit of tv watching every now & then. She even slept for 1.5hrs so I could have some lunch & watch "High School Musical 2" (I know, how old am I?)
Beck :smiliedance: to Kayley for sleeping through!! I reckon the last little bit of packing is the worst, all the odds & ends that don't seem to fit anywhere. re AF, I got mine back when Ella was down to two feeds. Speaking of which, she's had her last booby Fri night, had a small bottle last night which she fell asleep in the middle of -weird - but then woke again later to finish it off.
Sarah, poor you what an awful night, aren't they horrible. I would have been in bed already at 8 last night! Hope it was better for you both.
Sare, poor you & the pies. Oh well at least you had some riveting intellectually stimulating tv to cheer you up (says she who watches mccloud's daughters:D )
Georgia - thanks, yes I had a bit of "sparkle" about me in there, felt good! They only interviewed three, so I'm in with a shot. I really like it here but it would be nice to not worry about money so much. I didn't see your restaurant (dont' watch Current Affair if I can help it), gotta say as an ex-pastoralist, I'm a bit sceptical about the Wagyu... is it reeeeeally worth that much money?
Di :hugs: , ms is the worst. The hide of DP hassling you for help when you're feeling icky.... give him a Picture mag & tell him it's good practice for the sample, I say. :D
Kristin, hope things are a bit better today. Being hormonal doesn't necessarily mean you're overreacting, but it's good to find a pinpoint when you're miserable.
This post is probably long enough - going to go check the weather to see if we can hope for any rain. Hope everyone had a good weekend. Go Wallabies!!!

hi chickies,
Bec - I know ACA is sooooo daggy, but you can't looke the gift horse in the mouth when it comes to publicity;)
and re: wagyu there are many different producers with varying levels of marbling and quality and some are blow your mind unbelievable in the richness, melt in your mouth full on flavour and some are just whatever. We have found you don't always get what you pay for but the good stuff is always xxy iykwim. Can you tell I love it! Good on you for doing all that cooking, maybe you could share that zucfchini muffin recipe:chef: :)
Beck - I hope you get another sleep through. When do you actually leave?
Sarah - :smiliedance: for af, I just my 2nd one as well so looking forward to bding!
Sare - Sorry about the pies, what an ar3e
Had a good friend's ds 1st birthday which was lovely and made me wanna have a party so I think we will now, they are so cute playing together.
Hope you all had a good weekend!
 everyone,
Has everyone had a great weekend? Ours has been pretty busy. Yesterday I took the kids to DFO Essendon before picking up DH from the airport. I was really disappointed by it all. I was looking forward to making a heap of purchases, but only left spending a measly $26.00! Pumpkin Patch and Esprit were probably my biggest disappointments due to lack of choice and stock. Perhaps I went at the wrong time or something??? On a brighter note though, the kids were all so excited to see DH when we pulled up at the airport. They had no idea he was arriving yesterday, so it was very sweet to see their reactions! Today we have spent most of our time visiting his family all around the country side.
Jarvis had a better night last night, thankfully. He actually slept right through, the complete opposite of the night before. Babies still confuse me
AF has returned alright....With a vengence!! After not having it this time for almost 2 years, I'm really struggling with the cramps. It was so bad, I was woken with a cramp at 4.30am this morning which forced me to get up and take some panadol just to be able to get back to sleep. I said to DH that he'd better get me UTD next time he's home cos I'm already over AF!! We'll only have a very small window of opportunity though if we're going to this cycle as he leaves next Wednesday (I'll be o'lating on around the Sat...perfect timing for a pink one??). We are still undecided on what age gap we will have this time. You'll all be the 2nd to know when it happens, lol!
Bec: YUM!! You've been very busy indeed! I'd be way too tempted to taste test everything. Continually. Until all was gone, lmao!! Hope you get the outcome you're hoping for with the job.
Beck: OMG!! :yelclap: for Kayley sleeping through!! Did you wake up expecting her to wake? I will keep my :fingerscrossed: for you that DH does warm to the idea of TTC #2! How exciting!
ETA - Georgia: You posted whilst I was... Are you going to TTC this cycle? I didn't see the show either. Any free publicity is good publicity, you're right!
I have my 2nd accupuncture treatment in the morning. I'm still not convinced, so I'll go and see what what happens. Then we're going car shopping, followed by TV shopping. DH is in need of a new car, but I want one too. I'm not going to let him get one without me getting one too, lol! So, we're off tomorrow to check out the new Toyota Kluger, the Prado and maybe the Nissan Patrol. We had originally decided on the Territory, but every 2nd car we see driving down the road these days is a Territory! I'm off to check some out online now. Good night all,
Sarah
Hi all, hope you and bubs are all well!
Quick update from me so you know we haven't fallen off the face of the earth LOL. Just been busy and trying to spend less time online.
Jet: is the love of my life. He is walking everywhere, trying to run (so funny!), copying everything, into everything, extremely happy, and soooo affectionate right now. He's constantly wanting cuddles and coming up and laying his cheek on me while he hugs whichever part of me he has hold of. Lots of sloppy kisses too! Valentine He loves playing outside and still puts everything in his mouth (dirt from our potplants being the latest fave! ugh). He was chasing ants the other day, he notices everything!
According to my ECHN at today's checkup he's now being a 'typical toddler' in terms of eating - loves snacking but doesn't want to eat as much at mealtime as before, and being fussy/ inconsistent with what he will/ won't eat. But he's obviously getting enough to eat - he's almost 12kg! which is no surprise, he's so heavy to carry around now...
He is also drooling like a tap so I know there's teeth on the way but no new ones have popped through for ages.
Only bummer is that he's not sleeping through at the moment, he's been on a 3am wakeup routine this week. Can't have it all I suppose...
Me: all is good, I've lost 8kg this month, very happy with that :D Lots more kg to go! we are finally taking Jet to Jakarta and Bali next March, and hopefully making baby #2 as well, so there's the best incentive ever to stay on track with weightloss LOL.
Was told today by ECHN that we have to cut out all bottles at 12 months and make sure he has a sippy cup of milk with every meal. Jet sips at water from his straw cup all day, but he always has his milk either on waking, or when going to sleep (nap or bedtime) so it will be a challenge to break those habits! Plus I have to work on resettling him in the night without a bottle. How is everyone else approaching it?
Hi girls,
Just checking in too...not really much to report. Lara almost did a 12hr stint last night, she woke a few times, but self settled. She's not been doing as well as last week, but it's still a big improvement on what we had.
Eloise is as high as a kite with her birthday coming up on Thursday. Thank goodness the ILs are having her tomorrow, I don't think I'd cope with her tomorrow.
Just been on the ph to sureslim people and after being told that I could go back when I fell pg with Lara, they are now telling me no I have to pay another $550. I have about 10 weeks left of my contract which I have paid for (almost $900) so I'm not a happy camper. I've been shocking with what I have been eating and have put on so much weight and I have no will power what-so-ever now. I need to do it because I've had 2 people ask me if I'm pg again in the last week :gloomy:
Kimba - Jet sounds divine. This age is just the best, they just love their mums sooo much. Well done to you on your weightloss, that's great news. You'll look great when you go to Indonesia (not that you don't already)
Sarah - :smiliedance: on AF returning. Am I the only one who still doesn't have it back? Will you be able to have the age difference that you wanted between Jarvis and #4 now?
Georgia - Can I be totally stupid and ask what is wagyu
Bec - Not long to go until Ella's b'day now. Sounds like you are super organised. Any news on the job interview yet?
Beck - :yelclap: for Kayley sleeping through. Has she done it again for you? Have you made the big move yet? Good luck with it all.
Better go. We're off to the chiro again this afternoon. Take care.

Hiya everyone, how are we all?
All's good here. I'm in a great mood this afternoon as I've just spent 2.5 hours at the hairdresser's without any children, and it was BLISS. And I have new hair - so hurrah for that! DH even noticed, so that's a bonus.
Well, citizenship went well on Friday, we have passed (if that's the right word) our interview, but won't be classed as Citizen's until the ceremony, so roll on that bit of paper!!
We saw the fu**ing inlaws on Thursday (excuse my French, but I could punch them and never stop) poor DH is sooooo upset and I don't know what to do to help him. He tried to talk to his brother and he basically told DH to get lost, it'll never work. So that was nice. Nice SIL (that they threw out) phoned them to try and sort things out and that's just opened a whole other can of worms, because of course now we're waiting and wondering again. Will they turn up, will they try and talk to us ..... I wish they'd just move to China. Poor chinese people if they did. DH's blood pressure is through the roof and he's taking dizzy spells and I think he's depressed, but what can you do? I'm trying to cheer him up and he does seem a bit better a week on - until tomorrow when we're at the school for a picnic and we may or may not see them. Before I could only crush a grape, now I could crush a whole vine yard. Flippin' morons.
Rant over! I got a new ipod too, I was nagging DH as I saw that the 80gbs were now way down in price and so we drove about trying to find one, and then we found one AND the car wouldn't start. New battery later and $112 and we're on our way. But at least I got my ipod!!
Logan is still waking once or twice a night, although his other eye tooth came through last night, so hopefully we'll get a better sleep. I now have an official wee dracula as the top middle teeth are showing no signs of coming. And an old wummin on the train last week was talking to her pal and said "I knew there was something wrong with him, his teeth aren't coming in in the right order" I though DH was going to bash her..... people are so rude, my boy's just special.
Sare - bad luck on the footy. At least you never spent all that money on the tickets (look on the bright side!). Great news that Lara's sleeping is better, and good luck with Eloise's birthday, she'll have you up at 4.30 'is it morning mummy?'!! And that's terrible on Sure slim, is there no way you can get back the $900 - current afair?! Name and shame them!! And celebrate no AF, Mine's been back for ages and I'm getting to that 'I hate these monthlies' stage again. Ah well, they serve a purpose.
Kimba - Jet sounds lovely, he's so cute! Great news on the weight loss and booking your hols. And good luck on cutting out the bottles, I've never managed it when I should with any of my kids, and Logan won't take a sippy cup yet, so I won't manage it with him either! The best laid plans ....
Bec - please send some cake over this way!! Whenever you talk about your cooking I get hungry!!
Beck - how's the move going, I hope Kayley is still sleeping well for you.
Right ladies, must go, I've got a little one "mamamamamamamamamama'ing at me. Take care and I hope you are all well. Marion.xx
Jet slept through last night, bless him. He was quite upset at bedtime tonight for some reason  and wouldn't drink his bedtime milk, so I'm not expecting a good night tonight - although, who knows?
His first 1st birthday present arrived in the post today, I bought him a Wheely Bug. We decided to give it to him right away, as he won't know the difference anyway, and we couldn't wait. It's so cute, and he loves it, he was pushing it around everywhere this afternoon.
Sare - great that Lara has improved! hope the good sleeps continue. And, that's exactly why I didn't go to Sureslim. I didn't want to shell out all that money then get pg next year and waste it, they told me I'd have to pay another $550 if I wanted to go back later. So I'm doing something very similar but it didn't cost as much (although still pretty expensive!) and this program goes for 6 months, so hopefully I'll have lost the bulk of what I want to lose by then. Which is incidentally when we are going to Indo, and also when we want to TTC #2, so if all goes to plan it'll be great...
Marion - nice one on the new hair and the new iPod! I'm in lust with the new video nano...not that there's anything wrong with my 3 yr old 20G one, it just doesn't have video. And OMG what a horrible old cow on the train! Of course Logan is special, what difference does it make what order teeth come in??? grrrr.
 everyone,
We've had another couple of busy days here. When DH is home, it seems to be go, go, go!
We've been to look at cars, but are yet to make a decision about what we will do - if we get 1, if we get 2...dunno! DH also wants a new plasma, lap top, and iPod. He also wants the 80GB one too. It's only about $70 or so more then the 8GB one. Figure that out! What did you end up getting yours for Marion? We can get one here for about $349....
We got a call from the BIL yesterday telling us that my FIL had an accident at work and had been taken to A&E by ambulance. It turns out, he has fallen approx 4 meters into a pit and has severe damage to his leg. He is coming up 60 in December, and has really taken the fall quite badly. He's not a very happy man atm, as I wouldn't be in his situation either! He doesn't know what is going to be done to help fix it, as they want to wait until the swelling has gone down. He has had a cat scan, etc, to assess the damage, and at this stage they seem to think he will require pins, etc. We just have to wait until they can make further assessments. He'll be out of action for quite some time though, we know that!
My mum and I took Mack and Tallan to the Justine Clarke concert today! We had so much fun. It was so sweet to see the children singing and dancing. They were so excited to be going to 'Justine's house', lol! She's really full of energy and is great with the children. She really gets into it! It was a great show!
Well, my little Jarvis has slept through 12 - 13 hours for the last 3 nights now!! Looks like it might be here to stay. And now I've said it, he will probably wake up tonight! It looks like his 6th tooth won't be too far away now. Perhaps by weeks end?
Sare: If DH agrees to TTC, we can have the same age gap between jarvis and #4. We will have to conceive in November to have the 22 months difference, or before. I asked him if we can TTC next week before he goes, but he said no :gloomy: I usually get what I want, so I'm going to keep asking, lol!! He should know bwtter than to say no to me, it just makes me harp more, lol! Poo to Sureslim too. As if you're not already paying them enough! I'd kick up a stink if it were me!
Kimba: I'm going to go and check out a wheely bug now. I've never heard of them! Sounds like he loves it!
Marion: Give your DH lots of extra :hugs: and  Sometimes family can really suck! I no longer speak to my sister, and DH and his brother don't really see eye to eye. It's hard isn't it? If only you could choose your family, we'd all be much much happier people!
Best be off. We have to plan our holiday tonight and discuss what car purchase we are going to make.
Have a good one, Sarah

Hi all, just a quickie to let you know I'm still here!
We have had a mad week...last week in Syd with Nedd and MIL, then Nephew went into hospie over the weekend with suspected meningitis (at 5mnths old) so I've been down to Sale helping out with there other kids.
He will be fine, but is in hosp till fri on IV antibiotics- blood tests came up inconclusive which is a shame....they will never know what it actually was.
Anyway- elaborate more tomorrow when I have more time.
Big News here: Nedd started WALKING today!! Only three steps- but he did it three times so I am counting it as official....and he even waited till I picked him up from Daycare- it was him trying to get to me that encouraged him to take the steps so I am a bit chuffed!!
Kimba- We are going to Thailand in mar next year, so we can lose weight and stress about taking 18mnth old terrors on long flights together!
BTW What is a wheely bug?
Marion- Oh lovey I feel your pain re the inlaws. We have had so much poo with DH's mother and sister of the years...(touch wood everything is ok at the moment)...but he has been hurt so many times over, it is horrible standing by and watching the pain they suffer without being able to do anything.
Sare- Tough luck for Collingwood....I was disappointed for you.
Hello to everyone else- they are the main things that stuck out to mention, to much else since I was last on....
Cept all of you TTC'ing! Wow, I wish I was there with you. We have decided that by the time we build I will aim to work all of next year (bonuses get paid in 6mnthly blocks at my company- so worth working out the year). Which means I can start trying mid next year, fingers crossed since I fell so easily with Nedd it wont take long! Which means Nedd will be 2.5- I am excited by this as considering Nedd was a surprise anyway I thought we would have to wait till he was 3.5yrs as per our "original" plan.
OK, off to bed, will catch up more tomorrow!
Hi guys,
Had a lovely "women's circle" meeting last night, so I'm all at peace with the universe today & it's GREAT - I feel like I've been wound really tight lately. (will probably last about another 24hrs!)
Kimba I'm jealous - I so want a wheely bug for Ella! But I think I'll wait til she's walking or theres not much point... maybe that could be her big Chrissy present. Hope your night was ok.
Sal yay to Nedd for walking! What big news.
Sarah, wow sounds like you guys are planning some serious "toy" upgrading! We never get further than drooling over those things in the junk mail catalogues. I tell DP not to worry, we won't be poor forever! (not that we're really poor anyway, just joking) and OMG, 13hrs!!! Ella has never, ever slept that long. Maybe next baby?? :fingerscrossed:
Marion, :hugs: to you & DH dealing with the monster IL's. And pooh to that stupid woman on the train - there is no right order so goes to show how much she knows! Everyone's an expert when it comes to kids, aren't they?!:shame:
Sare I reckon you should threaten Sureslim with a shame campaign too! Not fair. If you want a cheap option (free!) I found Calorieking online really good. I like their recipes too. Bit time consuming though. Bet you are enjoying your Eloise free day! No news on the job, but they told me not to expect anything for 2 weeks. For Ella's birthday, I have the food organised but not doing anything else  how typical of me. No doubt DP will have his usual cranky cleaning frenzy.
Better go, have to go lug some more trays of seedlings around this afternoon.
Hi girls,
Been a busy day here cleaning ready for the bunch of three year olds coming for the party on Friday. I can't believe that Eloise is turning 3 tomorrow. It really doesn't seem that long ago that I was screaming down the labour ward (for the first time  )
Lara had an okay night last night, she woke twice (not bad considering that she is still full of a cold and is tooth #6 is just about to make its appearance). But the best thing of all is that she didn't need to be picked up and rocked. She's had 2 mega sleeps today too (1 x 2.5hr and 1 x 1.5hr).
I had a chat to MCHN today about the feeding issues that we are having with Lara and lumpy food. She thought it would be worthwhile getting her checked out by a speech therapist to see if there are any problems with her swallowing reflex. So now we seem to have the sleep thing sorted, it's time to work on the next problem.
Bec - The women's circle sounds great. Not surprised you've been so wound up with all that you have had on recently.
Sal - :yelclap: for Nedd walking. Isn't he a good boy doing it at home for the 1st time? Hope your nephew is ok. Sal we've put of trying for #3 until the middle of next year too. Eloise is being a real handful, so we wanted to wait until she's in kinder to have #3.
Sarah - I meant to say yesterday that I went to Brandsmart at Nunawading on Monday to get some clothes for the girls. Went to the Pumpkin Patch outlet and was really disappointed too, I got zilch. But they have a Ticklish outlet and I got 2 long sleeve tops and a t-shirt for each of the girls (so 6 tops in all) for $45. Then I went to Esprit and got a long sleeve t-shirt for Lara for $10.
Good luck with the car hunting. Have you completely ruled out the territory? I know that there's heaps of them on the road but they are such a great car (especially for families). It is so light to drive and has so much storage room.
Kimba - Good on Jet for sleeping so well. What is a wheely bug? Is it one of those ladybird/bee walkers that you can sit on?
Marion - Pfft to that rude lady commenting on Logan's teeth. Your ILs sound like right royal pains in the a$$. Karma will come and bite them in the butt one day.
re sureslim - I have the program so I can do it by myself, but I found that I can't stick to it like I did when I lost the weight the first time around. So I wanted to go to have the visit to the consultant again. I'll just have to do it by myself somehow.
Better go and serve up dinner.
Take care...
Sare - sureslim are being pretty darn cheeky. Complain to head office, maybe you'll get the outcome you want and a badoodle of freebie.
Wheely bugs are way cool. I would like one but mum is getting Abbey a ride-on for her birthday and no way would she pay $100 for it. Afraid the best Abbey will get is plastic barbie, but hey, what does she care? The wheely bugs look like they would last more than one baby too. I'd post a link to a picture but thats a no-no. You can search for them at Urban Baby though. I pick up Abbey's b'day presents on Saturday, no point waiting the extra week. She will be inundated with pressies from other people then.
Sal - AWESOME on nedd walking! :yelclap: There will be no stopping him now.
Sarah - I'm jealous of your visit to 'Justine's House'. I love her. She's Abbey's favourite Play School presenter, and we have the cd, but every time one of her song clips comes on she goes tramping over to press her nose to the tv in adoration.
Marion - youve been outposting me, do you know what that means? It means you've come back to us!
My little pancake and I have been quite busy, but Im not sure doing what. Nothing apparently. She is very busy walking here there and everywhere, and absolutely goes bonkers with giggles when i stalk and tackle her. We had a couple cruddy nights where I had to do some CC to get her to go down The first night she fell asleep dangling from the bars. Just passed out from exhaustion. Wasnt even cyring all that much or that upset, just stubborn and angry at mummy for not taking her to bed with me. At 7pm! I decided all this might be because of her nap schedule, so ive knocked out her afternoon nap. She wants it, but is happy to skip it if that makes any sense. Instead of napping 3-5 she goes down at 6.30 now and is good and tired.
Still not saying real words, aside from the occasional word just once where it might be accidental. My name is still "Da!" but only if she is looking for me around the house. I dont have a name the rest of the time. Cant stop the babble though, from the moment her eyes open in the morning to even AFTER they close at night.
Do you know my baby is so stubborn im not allowed to hold her hand while she walks? Never have been. Its her hand and she needs it, get off me mum.
I got in some Babyhawk mei tais for my shop and am seriously tempted to give myself a fabulous deal and keep one. Will my stubborn baby stay put on my back though? Without sedatives? Or will i just go bald from her 'loving strokes'?
Morning all,
3rd sleep through in a row last night (well, except his topup/ resettle at 10 which I don't count, as I hadn't gone to bed yet, LOL). Which means that I might get one more tonight and then he's bound to change it again. Or I could be lucky and it could last a while longer yet...:fingerscrossed:
We've been getting up earlier though, I think it's because the sun's coming up earlier. Jet used to wake around 6.30-7, but now he starts stirring around 6am so I jump in the shower before he's fully awake, and then we're both up by 6.30. I don't mind though because if I get used to it now, when daylight savings starts it won't be such a shock to the system.
Wheely bugs - yep it's a little ride-on for indoor use. Very cute, I got the red ladybug one (the bee one is also cute!). I got the small one from 1-3yrs, on eBay for $85 and it arrived in the post the very next day. Not cheap, but they're so well made, he'll use it for years and when Jet grows out of it the next bub can inherit it. I love how compact it is because we don't have heaps of space for big toys. Anyway, that's his 'big' birthday present, and I'll pick up some other stuff on layby tonight.
Justine Clarke - yes love her! I also love the Laurie Berkner band on Jacks Big Music Show, although prefer Justine being Aussie of course.
Napping - Jet is all over the place right now. When he's home with me he's been having longer naps in the morning then refusing to sleep after lunch and sometimes crashes around 3. But at daycare he refuses a morning nap then sleeps 2 hours after lunch, and sometimes another quick nap after DH brings him home, but more often not.
Incidentally, is mine the only child on the planet who doesn't like Baby Einstein DVDs? Jet is not interested at all. Actually he isn't really into TV in general, which I suppose is a good thing.
Michelle - go on, keep one of the mei teis there have to be SOME perks from retailing baby gear...
Sal - YAY on Nedd walking! isn't it the cutest thing ever? I'm gratified too that Jet's first steps were at home, to me. I think as Mums we deserve at least that much :)
Marion - I share the inlaws grief too. My DH has issues with his sisters and subsequently his mum (she lives with his sister, both overseas) and is constantly depressed about it.
Sarah - wow on all those new toys! Good luck with TTC again in November...
Sare - happybirthday to Eloise! Re: sureslim, if you need the accountability of weighing in, why not go to Weight Watchers meetings, but just follow your sureslim guidelines for food - like combining the two?
Bec - Jet has been pushing his wheely bug around on his knees LOL so I don't think they need to be walking properly. He doesn't understand what we want him to do when we sit him on it - he'll figure it out eventually!
Morning all,
This morning we decided to brave the crowds and head down to watch the Cats train for the last time before Saturday! There were so many people there! It was really quite crazy! The boys had a great time though, so it was all worth battling with the crowds!
Jarvis, however, is so overtired, he just won't sleep!
It seems that his new routine is to sleep through the night, YAY!! He did again last night. 6.30pm - 7.00am. Brilliant!
We have had another horrible phonecall. DH's 94 year old Grandma has been rushed to hospital with a broken hip  Poor old love. She had it operated on last night, and all that we have heard is that she has got through the op ok. That's 2 close family in 2 days...:fingerscrossed: there won't be that dreaded
3rd!
DH went out with the boys last night for a bit of a drinking session. I really don't know what the whole 'fun' is of getting drunk though....
Sare: happybirthday to ELOISE!!! Hope you are all having a great day! After looking around at some cars the other day, we have probably decided to go with the Territory after all! Everything else just didn't even come close to the Territory. No wonder there are so many around! The salesman told us that they are so popular in Geelong, amongst the Ford workers, because of the large discount they get on them! We are still in discussion though. Seems to end in an argument every time we talk about it, lol!
Sal: YAY for Nedd and his walking! So cute, and oh so clever! I can't wait for Jarvis to start walking around now. He'll be able to keep up with us all a little better, lol!
Better go, Jarvis has woken a cranky little poo poo bum bum head!

Hi everyone, how's things? I'm OK, DH has been to the docs and officially has high blood pressure and is still taking dizzy spells, so I have two babies to look after. He's gonna put him on a monitor and we'll see what comes of that. It sucks!! He's gone back to work today, but I'm so flippin' worried. Thanks for all the poo family stories, it's good to know that I'm not the only one lumbered with idiots. We seen them yesterday at the picnic and sure enough, they never acknowledged DH. I wish he could just shut off from them. Is there a switch I can buy somewhere?!
Not much to report here, got my letter from the government today to say I'm approved for citizenship ... so there's no getting rid of me now!! haha. Logan's still not sleeping, but is still a joy with all his smiles, so it kind of evens itself out, but I just don't get a minute. He's so clingy. At least he loves his mummy, the girls were very much daddy girls, so this is all new. I'm trying to catch up on e-mails, but I've nothing to tell all my lovely friends, it's all just rubbish emotional stuff. think I'll need to start making some stuff up so that they don't think Oz is boring! (heaven forbid!)
Sal - yay on Ned walking, it wasn't so long ago him and Logan were refusing to move and we were wondering if they'd ever get going!! How's your nephew going? That's such a fright for you all. I hope he's getting better.
Michelle - can you pm me your web site address? I lost it ages ago and I know it's a secret service, but could I please be a member?! and I want to know what Babyhawk mei tais are!! haha.
Sare - Happy birthday to Eloise! And good luck with Lara's eating ... are you worried it is a physical problem? She might just be fussy. Fingers crossed you get it sorted out without too much trouble.
Kimba - There was nothing wrong with my old 20gb either, I just passed that on to DH in order to get a new one!! haha!! I've had the old one since the 3rd gen came out and the price reduction was too good to pass up!! $350, much cheapness!! And it's fab. The wheely bug sounds cool, I'm going to go and see what it is!! And I have no idea who Justine Clarke is, I'll need to have a look at that aswell!! Logan does like Jack's big music show aswell..... but for some reason he really loves Lazy town?!!? I know it's for older kids but he loves it, and who am I to argue?!?
Sarah - Loving the new pic, the boys are getting so big - I know I'm showing my ignorance again, but who are the cats? (apologies for you lot laughing at me) haha. Should I be cheering for them for you?! We'd love a Territory in this house too, but it won't be for a while yet..... a long while!! how's the family? Fingers crossed phone call number three won't come.
Bec - what's a womans circle? Sounds like I need some of that .... Do you all sit about and set the world to right?
Right ladies, I've been and joined Facebook seeing as you were all talking about it, who can I have as my friends?! Anybody?
Logan's woke up, and I've still not managed to e-mail everyone, but at least I managed to get all my stuff on here done! hope you're all good, take care and I'll speak to you all soon. xx
Hi all
Must be quick as (per usual) I am working tonight (on this laptop). Lucky I love my job, hey!?
Ran to Floriade and back at lunch today - love living in Canberra.
Sam's hair is turning into blonde ringlets. Took some piccies at Floriade Saturday but didn't manage to get any FLOWERS in them!!! Will change my avatar when DH gets off the PC.
Decided I need my own car. Love the Honda Euro but I don't want to share anymore. DH and I both have interviews for promotion coming up. Mine is next Thursday and I am absolutely crapping myself. But I want to do well so I can lease a car for myself. Was thinking about the Mazda 3 but my legs are too long...:o I don't think DH would even fit in!
Sam is eating HEAPS and it is getting a lot easier now that he eats 'normal' food with us. Shame he won't like the vindaloo I made the other night...we have playing chasies and I am having an absolute blast with him. He even 'helped' me plant some shrubs the other day and ate some kangaroo poo :barf: Poo happens, literally!
Our trip to NZ is in November and my MIL just booked a house down the coast for a week in Dec/Jan, so we have another trip to look forward to! I am really hoping Sam can walk by then, so he can move around more at the beach.
Well - time to actually speak to my DH. He has homework for his Diploma and I always have work...can't wait for these trips!

Hi chicks
Me rant first...So the last few weeks/months I have been trying to wean Sophia by cutting down feeds but it's not working as she literally will hold out for me, sometimes 12-14 hours. So I decided yesterday to bite the bullet and go cold turkey and it is the hardest thing i've ever done :gloomy: Sophia is sooo angry and has barely cracked a smile. She drank a tiny bit of milk at day care and was like a screaming banshee ALL last night and I was at wits end. She didn't want a cuddle, didn't want to lie down didn't want milk, water or nuffink, just kept on clawing at my top and screaming. Please tell me it gets easier, i've been at the brink of tears for the last 24 hours
Jen - How exciting about your holidays and i'm so glad you and Sam are having a ball. What's Floriade?
Marion - I'll pm re: facebook ;) The magic switch for your family, either don't see them or go on Dr Phil lol.
Kimba - Hope you get another good night! re: tv, Sophia is not interested at all in any kids shows, which is fine with me.
Right, I might just go and stalk the breastfeeding section and see if anyone has gone through this. Sorry, I didn't get through personals but i'm knackered and need some encouragement.
Cr@p night as I expected. DH woke me and Jet at 2.30 going to work. Jet self settled, then woke again at 3 so I gave him milk to settle. Then he was crying at 4.30 so I just brought him to bed with me. Took him till 5 to resettle but at least we both got a bit of restless sleep till 6.30...
In other news, can I just say TANTRUMS?!?! My easy going placid little man has really started letting loose! I know Jet's usually overtired in the afternoon coz he only has one midday nap at daycare (apparently she can't get him to sleep at all in the mornings) so that makes him a bit more 'sensitive' than usual - but OMG yesterday afternoon he had at least 3 major tantrums  - bawling/ howling, kicking, flapping arms - and why? Because 1) we shut the balcony door when he wanted to go out again, 2) I took the big broom off him, and I can't remember the 3rd but it was something equally insignificant. His WILL is being made KNOWN, LOL.
On a ranty note: Jet is being 'bullied' at daycare by the same kid that used to bite him  He got pushed over yesterday and cried for 'Mama' (so his carer told me), and DH said when he went to pick Jet up he could see this other kid pushing him and taking his toys away. I'm really angry but I don't know what to do about it. I don't want to change carers because Jet is really happy and settled there, but I also don't want him being bullied...His carer is at a loss too because she can only go so far with disciplining the other child, she tries to keep him away from Jet but obviously she can't hold onto him all day.
Jet's pretty tough, but I don't like knowing that he's getting pushed around by a bigger kid. And it really bothers me that Jet's started picking up bad behaviour from the bully - my sweet gentle boy has started hitting/ smacking, pulling hair, getting pushy, snatching things, whacking us with toys etc. I know he doesn't mean it or understand, but it makes it hard when I get together with my mum's group because the other babies Jet's age aren't used to rough play, so I'm constantly saying 'no' and pulling him away.
Anyway vent over...
Georgia - you poor thing...sorry but I have no advice really, because weaning Jet was effortless. I guess that was the silver lining of my chronic supply issues, he was happy to wean and never looked back (it was ME who was sad and missing BFing!). Have you tried calling the ABA helpline? They are really great. The ABA has a forum as well with heaps of advice if you can't find it here on the Hub.
Jen - good to hear from you. Good luck with the promotion, you deserve it! Would love to see photos of the blonde ringlets, sounds so cute.

Hi Everyone
Tantrums: Yes Jacob has mastered these aswell lol... He sits on the floor kicking his legs, flapping his arms or swarking cos he wants something that the girls have got (or they have taken it off him). If he doesnt want something he throws it aswell.
Weaning: Hey Georgia... I know exactly how you are feeling! Im going through the same thing at the moment. There have been sooo many times I have neally given into him and just BF but persistance is the key (well thats what I keep telling myself). When I first started Jacob on cows milk he refused to drink it, kept throwing his sipper cup away. I got a bottle and started giving him EVERYTHING in it so he would get used to drinking out of it. When I went to give him milk in it he wasnt too sure about it but managed to drink a small amount of it... On the first night of trying to put him to sleep he refused to drink the bottle, so he ended up been rocked to sleep (without milk or being BF)... The next morning at nap time I layed him in my arms and offered him the bottle again and he took it. Now I can get him to have it before day naps and just before bed. I rock him to sleep afterwards. At the moment I am still BF once during the night but in a week or so I will offer cows milk for that as well. Good luck with it, I hope it gets better for you soon.
Kimba - Sorry to hear about Jet being bullied at daycare, poor Jet :hugs:
Jen - Good luck with the promotion (and your hubby aswell) WOW, NZ in November, how exciting... that will come around soo quick. You really deserve a holiday so I hope you have a fantastic, relaxing time!!
Marion - I'm on Facebook.... you can PM me if you like and I will add you. If anyone else in on there you can do the same if you like.
Sare - happybirthday Eloise for yesterday. I hope she had a FANTASTIC day!! I didnt realise that our DD's were so close in age.. my DD2 turns 3 in October.
Sarah - OMG your poor DH Granma... I hope she is ok!
Sal - WOW! Congrats on Nedd walking, they are growing all too fast arent they!? We have soo many bubs walking before their first birthdays, think we all need to have a stern talking to them and tell them to stop growing up so quickly!
Jacob had a great 1st birthday. We went to a Park, they have a section with animals as well so took all the kids for a wander through there then had a BBQ lunch. My poor little man wasnt feeling very good and was asleep on me when we all sang Happy Birthday to him.. he soon woke up for cake though and that seemed to liven him up a lot lol. A really good friend of mine made him a cake in the shape of a truck.... looked absolutely AWESOME! I have photos on Facebook but havent had a chance to get them on Photobucket yet, will post the link as soon as I do tho. He got absolutely spoilt rotten, sooo many toys! Is great tho as he didnt have many "big boy" toys... lots to keep him occupied anyway lol.
Well I best go, Jacob is sleeping so I really should be doing my housework... I was sick yesterday and couldn't do much at all..... talk to you all soon
Hi guys,
I'll make it short tonight cos I'm a bit tired and we have a big happybirthday day for Ella tomorrow!
Georgia - I talked to my ECHN about weaning, and the big revelation for us was that you don't have to replace feeds with anything (ie formula or cow's milk) until they're down to 2-3 feeds a day, as long as they are getting plenty of water. So I dropped all her feeds, one at a time, roughly 1.5weeks apart, until we got to 3, then as I dropped boobie I replaced it with a cow bottle. it has gone really well, now she has a 200ml bottle at 8.30am, one at 7pm, and a little (80ml ish) bottle during the night. I guess I thought that would help as her "holding out" for you might be ok depending on how many feeds she has? But I'm with Kimba, try the ABA helpline, they are very nice!
 to everyone else, hope your long w/e is good, hopefully I'll be back online (prob Sunday) for more chat.
ps I am getting my first sleep in in a whole year tomorrow - DP has promised to get up to Ella to let me stay in bed!:smiliedance:
Hi guys,
Just a real quick one, as I am exhausted from 2 days of celebrating Eloise's b'day. She had a lovely day yesterday and a great party today. Thanks for all your lovely wishes. There are some piccies up on the flickr site if you wanted to have a look.
Just wanted to say a very BIG happybirthday to Ella for tomorrow. I hope you guys have a great day and have lots of fun celebrating this milestone.
I'll hop back on at some stage over the weekend. Oh and Sarah, I am on the Cats bandwagon. Hope they have a win tomorrow.
Have a great weekend girls

HI chicks
OMG Bec, happybirthday for tomorrow for Ella, that is so exciting and I hope you have a great day xxx.
Sare - I hope Eloise enjoyed her birthday, I will have a look at the pics in a mo!
Sarah - GO THE CATS!!! Your boys look so cute in their outfits:thumbsup:
Christy- Happy Birthday for Jacob, sounds like he had a beaut day. re: weaning, thanks for sharing, it's pretty damn hard as you know you've got what will make it better. I will pm you, would love to see your pics, i've got a few old ones but will get to updating one of these days
KImba - re: tantrums, you're lucky they've just started now. My little drama queen has been at it for a while. I think the hardest thing is to be consistent in yourself as well as a team ie: you and dh, we're struggling with it a bit as dh laughs at her when she is being a miss and of course she gets away with murder.
So last night we had a breakthrough and Sophia took milk from a bottle so we will stick with that for the time being and deal with the cup issue 'ron. She seems much happier and is no longer clawing at me! Just keeping an eye on my boobs as I really don't fancy another bout of mastitis. The books say to hand express but I have never been able to do that so i'm just taking off the bare minimum.
I have to say this is one of the hardest things I have ever done but I think we're over the hump:fingerscrossed:

Still alive and kicking - and still reading all your posts!
How much does everyones bubba's weigh now?
Bella is a little 8.8kg, but Dr says she is fine, just a little pixie of a bubba! :p
How much does everyones bubba's weigh now?
I haven't had Lara weighed at the health centre for a few months, but I weighed her on our scales 2 or 3 weeks ago and she was 8.2kg, so she still hadn't doubled her birth weight. She looks much bigger than she is with her chubby cheeks and thighs. She is quite long though.
:smiliedance: We are Geelong, the GREATEST team of all!!! :smiliedance:
What an absolutely awesome win over Port!! Good on 'em! DH went to the Grand Final today, and let me say, that he is mighty happy...and not only because of the win, lol! I'm expecting him home very soon actually! I was at home watching it with the boys and my sister on our new plasma!! Awesome game!
happybirthday Ella!! How exciting!!
Ok, just wanted to pop in with that. I'm off to wait for my Chinese delivery.
Have a good night!
Sarah
happybirthday Ella, beautiful big girl! Bec I hope you enjoyed your 'Labour Day' sleep-in, and hope you and the family had a really lovely day. I'm so excited about all these 1st birthdays!
We went to the first of my Mother's Group 1st birthday parties today. Was a great sunny day and we were in a really nice local park, so Jet was in his absolute element, he loves parks and playgrounds. I was a Bad Mother tho', and didn't put sunscreen on his cheeks because he had his hat on and we were mostly in the shade, I thought he'd be OK, but he's got bright pink cheeks this evening. D'oh. And we have 2 more 1st bday parties tomorrow...
Still getting tantrums here. If I try to take him inside when we've been outside, he kicks off (even if we're just coming in from the car). I don't blame him though, living in a unit he doesn't have the luxury of playing in a backyard, so he makes the most of every opportunity he can get!
Jet weighs 11.8kg clothed! I had him weighed last monday. Actually I was expecting him to weigh even more than that (he was 11.4kg at 9 months), so I was relieved that his weight gain seems to have slowed down a bit, makes sense as he's now running around and more fickle with eating. He's almost tripled his birth weight.
Georgia - nice work on getting Sophia to take a bottle, I hope it gets easier for you from here.
Sare - 2 days of Eloise's birthday sounds very tiring! hope it was a lot of fun though and that she loved it.
Christy - I'm glad Jacobs birthday was such a success, I saw the cake photos on facebook, it was awesome!
Sarah - LOL. I'm happy the Cats won too. Have always had a soft spot for them (although I'm a Swans girl myself!)

Happy Birthday Ella! It's quite emotional that these babies are so old already! Where has my wee bundle of joy gone .... all I'm left with is this happy smiley wee boy with blonde curly hair .....where's my baby??!??! I'll just need to make do haha.
How are you all? Having a nice weekend? I'm doing good, Logan only had one sleep today, so he's gone down early. His sleeping has been SHOCKING recently, so fingers crossed for a good night. I'm so tired, and I've no idea what to do to improve his sleep, so I'll just keep on in there and I'll be sure to let you know if he improves any! I'm still wrapping him and I'm trying to figure out what to do to stop that, but I'm feart as I don't want his sleeping to get any worse, and he wont sleep unless he's wrapped. Ah well, another one of life's big questions!
Oh, Logan weigh's 10.4 kilos which isn't too bad. He's tall and there's not much flab on him, so I'm quite glad about that, my DD2 was a wee chubba and still is and my god, trying to stop her eating, she's could chow her way through sooooo much food. So I'm glad Logan's not like that. Yet. Give him time!! lol.
Logan takes tantrums too, he still screams like a girl when he's not getting his way, and I don't think it helps that mummy just laughs and says ' you scream like a girl'
Sarah- my DD1 told me to cheer for the cats, so once I'd figured out that was Geelong that's who I cheered for in the 5 mins that I took out to watch it!!
Georgia - :fingerscrossed: the feeding is moving forward. I got Logan yet another type of sippy cup (we've now got 4) and he's still having none of it. I remember back to the trouble I had getting him to feed from a bottle at the start and I think it's going to be the same with the cup. If he's not drinking from a cup by the time he goes to school I'll know we're in trouble! and as for Dr Phil, I was thinking of writing in to one of those woman's magazine's and I'd just love to see SIL's face when she realized there was something about her in it .... and not nice stuff either. Oh, it's almost worth putting myself through the shame! and I'd love to not see them, but we live in the same suburb and kids go to the same school .... and I'm damned if I've build this house to just move away again .... DH will just need to get an emotional wall built up around that part of his life .... easy for me to say when they're not my family. It's only taken me 9 months to get to this stage!! haha. I WISH I could pick my rellies, in fact from the sounds of it, we've all got some we could do without!
Kimba - OMG on Jet getting bullied, that's so poor, and it's even worse that he's picking up the bad habbits. Hopefully you can sort something out. This day care thing has been nothing but bother for you, hasn't it. You've clips of Jet on Facebook are gorgeous. When he was saying mamama my DD1 said ' he sounds just like Logan' ... aawwww. and I hope his wee cheeks aren't so red anymore. Poor little tyke.
Christy - I'm looking forward to giving Logan some cake as he's never had any yet .... I can just imagine Jacob trying to cram it in!! Aren't they so sweet at this age?
Kristen - good to see your still with us .... hope the pain isn't too bad and that Bella is behaving well for you. Your new photo is gorgeous.
Jen - good luck with the job interviews (you and hubby) hope it all goes well. Great news on Sam's eating, Logan won't eat anything unless it's out of a jar .... except toast! This boy is hard work ..... and I'd love a trip to NewZeland, it'll be so great to get a break.
Sare - Love the new piccie of the girls, I bet your relieved that's one of their birthdays done and dusted!
Just had to resettle Logan ,...... what can I do with this boy?? DH was saying tonight that he doesn't think we can cope with another baby, and I think he's right, but I'm not sure I'm emotionally ready to stop breeding! .... but if I had another one like Logan I think you'd need to lock me up. Some big thinking to be done in the months ahead.
Anyway, hope you're all good, take care.xx

Hi everyone, I've been a slacker with posting again....so this will probably be a long one!
First of all a MASSIVE belated happybirthday to Ella. Hope you had a wonderful day and got spoilt rotten gorgeous big grown up girl! And Bec hope you got time to actually sit back and congratulate yourself on getting through her first big year!
I read somewhere the other day that first b'days should be more about congratulating the parents on getting that far rather than the child! I like that idea and am going to incorporate into our celebrations. :D
And a big 3yr HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Eloise! happybirthday
Sare- I am with you on the weight loss issue. I need someone (who I am paying good money too) to be accountable too. Otherwise I make up too many excuses. I lost 12kg through Fernwood's Slimplicity program before I fell pregnant, I am thinking of going back there, or to WW- whichever works out most economical.
Kimba- We've been having an early riser too here. Consistently at 5.55am we hear him stirring. This morning I left him and he put himself back to sleep- till 8am! I got a lovely sleep in! So maybe we are just jumping up to him that bit too quickly.
Sarah- Yay for the Cats. It was a white wash in the end! Rather boring for those of us without a team in it and wanting an exciting game to watch. But good result all the same.
Michelle- I would totally spoil yourself re the Mai teis. I had a peek and they look fab. I am just way to lazy when it comes to carrying Nedd these days. Oh and I keep meaning to download the pics off our camera so I can show off Nedd in his starbunz- he looks so cute!
Marion- Congrats on Citz! We wouldn't want to get rid of you anyway. And I really feel for your poor DH. I really hope for his sake he can learn to distance himself from said family- and embrace the wonderful family he has as being all he needs.
Jeffy- I saw FLoriade on better homes and gardens. It looks amazing, would have been a lovely outing for you! Good luck for your promotion.
Georgia- How's the weaning going? Hope it is getting easier.
Kimba- poor Jet being bullied. That really sucks, specially when it seems that your carer is aware of it and doing all she can. How old is the other child? Would there be any chance your carer would discuss it with the other mum?
Christy- Jacob's birthday sounds lovely! Too cute about him being alseep for his Happy Birthday song. And love the idea of the truck! I am totally uncreative so I don't know what I will do about a cake- maybe my Mum might come to the rescue me thinks!
Beck- Have you moved yet? I noticed you haven't been around for a few days and wondered if that maybe why- I probably totally missed it!
MaryAnne- hope you are surviving through your 7day trek at work. :hugs:
Sorry to anyone else I've missed....I must be a good girl and keep up!
Ok re Weight. Nedd is another big boof. About 3wks ago we wieghed him on our scales and they came up 11.5kg.
Tantrums- We don't really my get many here. He is certianly starting to learn, but generally little munchkin is pretty placid and easy going. Please please let him stay that way! :D
Walking- well we are still only having three or four steps here and there. He is way too cute though- when he tries it out he gets totally excited by what he is doing and consequently falls @rse up cause he isn't concentrating. Then when he is concentrating he realises its way easier to crawl  But he is consistently standing on his own for as long as he wants to now which is very cool!
Sleeping- Nedd is doing pretty well....most nights we go through now, with maybe a wake up call once.
Re First birthdays- Do us vic girls want to organise a birthday meet up? I don't have a mothers group- so you guys are it for me! And if anyone is free on the 21st and would like to make the trek out bush to Nedd's proper party let me know! We'd love to have you!
Big news here- we sold our house on Fri! Got $2000 less offered than what we were hoping for so we took it. 60day settlement means I have to start getting organised. We will rent for 6mnths, then hopefully our house will be nearly ready to move into.
We had a massive weekend. Went down to melb to catch up with my bro and SIL and DH's sis and GF- end up being a blinder, I was so hung over yesterday, not pretty- why do I do it to myself?!?!?
Nedd's day carer is on holidays this week so I have a few days off aswell. Not that i'll be doing much- probably just starting to pack!
OK I have rambled way too much. Have a great week everyone.
