How have your kids settled into school so far?

Mine are all happy, they like their teachers. I'm still hanging out for the twins to go full days. They have a staggered start, so are on half days for 3 weeks, then 2full/3 half for the next two weeks, then 5 full days.

Its going to be so quiet around here, but good too. My house will actually be able to stay clean for 6 hours a day instead of 5 minutes.

My daughter is a great help, she cleans up after herself, and shes not quite 2 yet! LOL.

Alannahs_mum - What a beautiful girl she is too! LOL!

My kids seem to have settled in fine, DD1 (yr 5) has the same teacher that her brother had last year, we don't like him (neither did DS) but she has had him before & has no probs with him.

DD2 (yr 2) has the same teacher as she had last year so no probs there, except she was a little dissapointed as there was another teacher she was hoping to get.

DS is in his 1st yr at high school (yr 7) and so far so good, he seems to like it!

DD1 - who is nearly 8 has settled in great. Very firm teacher but does heaps with the kids and encourages them to perform to their best. I think a firm teacher is good in year three, its like they're not the babies of the school anymore but they're not the big kids.

DD2 - who is five started prep (still a trial in QLD). Has gone much better than I thought she would. She is thriving on the extra stimulation. I thought she would be really tired at the end of the day but she has coped better than her older sister.

Only one left at home (boo hoo). She if four. I am really not ready for her to go off next year. What am I going to ever do without a little person at home? It would of been nine years at home (I work part-time) with a little person, I don't think I am going to like it on my own.

Alannah's Mum - glad yours have settled in well.

jlk- how's the highschool transition?

Caitsmum - The transition seem to go fairly well, he was worried he was gonna get lost but so far he's had no trouble, i went to the same high school & it's easy to get around!

My son is really happy this year. He has a male teacher who makes school fun. I am really impressed, he is a nice guy. DS has also made some new friends which is good.

My daughter has started kindy which she just loves although by the end of friday she is pretty tired and cranky. She has made some friends and getting alot already from the experience.

My DD has settled in year 6 well. She has the same teacher as last year, and although I've had confrontation with him when he taught her brother, she seems to be ok with him.
DS has just started High school (grade 8 in Qld) and is loving it.......for now! He had a rough last few years of primary school. He was physically assualted by his teacher last (witnessed by 6 adults), but then the teacher cried wolf and said that my son assualted him! Big dramas there, but that is another story. Mind you, my son is a stick, and this teacher is a solid build and over 6foot tall.
In the end, he is happy now in High school. I just wish brother and sister would get along for 5 minutes!

She is doing so well, reading writing and even maths
so i am proud of her

We moved states beginning of year so Olivia had to make new friends etc and also because of the grade differences she ended up going back to year 1 so she was same age as the others in her class. She wasn't too keen on that idea LOL!!

But she settled in very quickly and has a whole new set of friends (and a boyfriend  )
